Genovian Radio Call

Written by Michelle

Zac, Elata, Roberto and Henry

"Okay we now have a special guest caller, Zac Hanson!" said the DJ.

"Hi," Zac said.

"Hey Zac, welcome to Genovia's number one rock station, Rock 105.

"Thanks."

"So you're doing the promo tour for your new album, Underneath."

"That's right. Our single is Penny 'n Me."

"Which we have, of course, been playing frequently. It's been a popular request."

"That's great. I'm glad you've all been enjoying it."

"And where are you at the moment?"

"We're in France."

"Cool, cool. So tell me about the new album."

And Zac gave the DJ the usual spiel that they had been telling, oh everyone.

"Okay, now we have some questions from the fans."

"Sure."

"This is Megan... Megan? You're talking to Zac."

"Omigod! Omigod!" Megan freaked out.

Zac chuckled.

"Megan, you have a question for Zac?"

"Oh, umm, yes, omigod. I love you Zac. Okay. Wow. If you were a mutant, what power would you have?"

"Hmm, if I was a mutant," Zac mused.

Ahh, if only they knew he was a Dathrian. Heh, heh.

"I think I would have temperaure manipulation," Zac said, believing there was nothing wrong in wanting the power he already had. "Seriously, that would be cool. You'd be able to know exactly what the temperature around you was all the time and alter it, so y'know, if you were too hot, you could cool things down and vice versa. And no one would be able to sneak up on you, because hey, a 93 degree body walking around in a 73 degree environment? That'll stand out."

"Interesting. I can't say I've heard of that power before," said the DJ. "Most people want telepathy, or telekinesis, or shapeshifting, or flight, classic stuff like that."

"Yeah," Zac agreed.

"Okay, next on the line is Elata."

"Hi Zac!" said an excited, perky voice. "Is it true you have a dozen children?"

Zac paused, his eyes narrowing. "I'm going to kill her."

"Yes," Zac replied with a laugh. "I'm also an alien, I'm really three hundred and severty-five years old, and my best friend is a orange ham named Spud."

The DJ laughed.

"Just kidding," Zac went on more cheerfully than he felt. "A dozen kids, huh? I haven't heard that rumour. All with different women I suppose? Wow, I must be getting some, hey?"

Elata giggled.

"Oh! Sprout and Truthboy are here too."

In the background they could hear Roberto and Henry object to the nicknames.

"Sprout and Truthboy?" the DJ asked.

"Yeah, they're mutants who refuse to have mutant names. Hey if you had a mutant name, Zac, what would it be? Tempro? The Great Thermonitor? The -"

"Zac. That is what it would be."

"Oh! You're sooooo boring."

"I think I shall write a song about you, Elata. My psycho mutant-wannabe friend."

Elata giggled about the same time as the Dj got an idea:

"Do you two know each other?" he asked suspiciously.

"Online chat," Zac replied. "Friend of a friend and all that. Y'know, Elata, you should probably let other fans who don't know my IM details to call and ask questions. Also, don't make me have to change my IM details."

"Awww," Elata giggled.

"Okay, well, say good bye for now," said the DJ, "We'll get some other fans on the line in a moment. So, Zac, you guys planning on doing any shows here?"

"Not this tour, I'm afraid," Zac said. "But we'll definitely be there next time we do a proper world concert tour. Or at least a European concert tour."

"That's awesome. We'll hold you to that, you know."

"Ha ha, sure."

The interview continued, with Zac chatting to three or four more fans before his call had to end.
