Bobby sat down next to Lennon in the computer labs and pulled out his books. He logged into his student mail and scanned through the page, looking for anything he needed to take care of immediately. His eyes stopped at a familiar name.
Octavian Edgerton-Smythe.
He clicked the email to open it, and he smiled faintly. It had been awhile since they'd written to each other. After Xavier's, they'd drifted apart a little, sending the occasional email, but after Julie had let him know that he had fathered one of the twins, the contact dropped to even less.
Greetings from Harvard, dear boy!
I know that we've had little to no contact as of late - no one's fault exactly (although I blame you to make it easier on me), I can imagine things must be quite hectic for you over there, what with school (which is taking up quite a lot of my time - when I'm not engaging in inappropriate behaviour with students, teachers, randoms from the street), and with you helping to raise a whole brood of children.
So even though it's been some time, I thought I would drop you a line to let you know that I have holidays coming up, and I am heading over your way to pay a visit, and catch up with everyone who remained in New York. I have already caught up with Vort and Spike, they were over my way a few weeks ago, and I would love to see Mordred and Gwen, and of course you... and Julie.
This is the extension of an olive branch, so to speak... I know our parting was amicable, but there was unresolved tension that we will probably laugh about when I next see you.
I am planning to be there in a week or so (my holidays start on the 14th, so you can expect me there on the Saturday, sooner, if I can get Mordred to come get me), but let me know if you have plans or whatever.
Pip pip, old chap, and all of that English nonsense you say I spout,
Tavvie.
Bobby smiled as he tapped out a reply.
Tav!
Have to make this quick, as am supposed to be studying for finals. Will discuss with Julie and let you know our plans, but I think we should be free, and I know she'd like to see you - and have you meet Tinga. She's beautiful - but what else would you expect with parents like J and yourself?
Give me a buzz, I still have the same number.
Bobby.
Despite all the fighting he and Julie had been doing lately, he knew this news would cheer her up. It was about time Tav met his daughter.
