Avery sat in class, her chin being supported by her hand, eyes drooping as she listened to the teacher talk about something to do with complex equations. As far as Avery was concerned, all equations were complex.
She had a slight bump in her belly, and still hadn't gotten around to talking to her friends about the situation, but she'd just been so worn down lately, probably from being back and forth from London to the Station.
As she listened to the lesson, she closed her eyes and focused, zoning in on her Mom in Tulsa's thoughts.

I miss you too, Mom, Avery thought back, then cut the connection before she started crying.
