There was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Isabel said, her head buried in her books.
The door opened and Alex walked in.
"Hi Alex," she said cheerfully. "What can I do for you?"
There was silence as Alex walked around Isabel.
"Alex?" Isabel asked, and turned around curiously. "Alex!"
Alex had a knife in his hand and was lifting it to stab Isabel. There was a frighteningly blank expression on his face and Isabel used her atom manipulation to push herself into her desk so that the blow would miss. Alex lifted the knife to try again and Isabel used the moment to slip out the door and once again used her atom manipulation to fuse the door shut. Then she ran down the stairs.
Jessica
Jessi looked up to see Izzy tearing down the stairs.
"Iz? What's wrong?"
Isabel
Isabel swallowed. She opened her mouth to reply, closed it again. Opened it again and still nothing came out. Abruptly she burst into tears.
"Alex's trying to kill me!"
Jessica
"What?" Jessi asked shocked. "Okay. . so, not 911. . .we should call YIRAAS." She pulled her mobile out of her purse and went through the list. The only YIRAAS agent she had in her phone was Tanya. She pressed it and waited for Tanya to answer.
Isabel
Isabel collapse to the lounge just as banging noises started coming from her room. She brought her knees up to her chin and wrapped her arms around her leg.
"He had a knife. He was going to stab me. Oh Jess... why would he do that? Why?" she whimpered.
Meanwhile, on the station a young lady by the name of Cynthia answered the phone.
"Tanya's office," she said in her professional manner.
Jessica
"Hello, this is Jessica Hanson, I need to talk to Tanya, it's an emergency," she said. She covered the mouthpiece of the phone with her hand.
"Don't worry Izzy. It's going to be okay. It can't be him, Alex would never hurt you. Is he locked in?"
Isabel and Tanya
Hanson huh? Tanya had given Cynthia some rather particular instructions about call from them. She immediately contacted Tanya on the intercom.
"Tanya? I've got Jessica Hanson on the phone."
"Jess?" Tanya thought to herself. "Haven't heard from her in awhile."
"Thank you Cynthia," she said aloud and picked up the phone. "Hi Jess, what can I do for you?"
Isabel nodded a little as she rocked back and forth, weeping.
"Fused the door knob," she explained.
