"Miette Braddock?"
"Yes sir?"
"I'm here to share some news, and to make a request."
"Yes?"
"First of all, the security alert is standing down. Most of the people who have been recruited - like from your class - have been dismissed back to their old lives," he smiled. "I'm sure you'll be happy to know that we are both proud and thankful for all their efforts."
"Sure," Miette nodded, noting the use of the word 'their'.
"Miss Braddock," he went on handing her an envelope, "we are also dismissing you. However, a request has been made that you stay on security here. You don't have to, but -"
"But in various diplomatic interests and blah blah blah, you'd like me to stay on?"
"Yes."
"Does this mean I get a pay rise?"
He laughed as Miette opened the envelope and glanced over the contents - which was of course, relevant to the current conversation.
"Yes you do. Amongst various other things."
They discussed the terms of her further employement with the British Royal family, and all the details were soon settled. Miette was staying on.
Prince Harry and Miette
"So, how'd the meeting go?" Prince Harry asked. "You staying?"
"Good, yeah," Miette replied. "Wait... how'd you know?"
"When I found out they were going to stand down the alert - there being no attempts on the lives on me or any of the other mutant peers in ages - I started talking to people," Prince Harry shrugged. "Hey, we're making valuable progress on this and I really value your help."
Miette smiled.
"Well, thanks," she said. "I appreciate the pay rise, by the way. Much more than what I was getting teaching hologram class."
"Hologram class?"
"You think it's easy to project holograms?"
Prince Harry chuckled.
