Tazylor eyed Zac for a moment as he entered the kitchen while he was preparing lunch.
"Hey Zac?" he got his attention.
"When are you planning on getting your hair cut? That mop has to be annoying."
Zac
"Mop!" Zac looked tragic. "I don't have a mop. I have a cool collection of hair that doe sthis awesome sweeping thing."
Zac demonstrated... and some hair got into his eyes, which he needed to brush out.
"Okay, I see your point."
Taylor
"I need to get mine done as well," Taylor chuckled.
"Want to go today?"
Zac
"Sure," Zac replied. "Why not? Had nothing else planned for today."
Then he grinned.
"We could go completely wild. Mohawks. Or dye it blue. Or frosted tips. Or -"
Taylor
"I don't think so Zac," Taylor insisted with a chuckle.
"But hey, if you're that inclined you can always get a light manipulator to do it later."
Zac
"Hmm, yes," Zac said. "I suppose that's true."
Zac reached into the fridge and got himself a drink.
"Well, then, right after filling our stomachs we can cut off our locks. Or alternatively our hair. Multiple hairs in fact."
Taylor
"Yes, that," Taylor shrugged, "whatever."
He finished off what he was eating.
"I'll get changed and meet you at the door."
Zac
"Okay cool," Zac said, skulling down his drink.
Then he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
"Hey Tay... you're wearing your Hanson ring."
Taylor
Taylor looked down at his right hand, then held it up.
"So I am."
He gave his brother a smile and left the room to get ready.
Zac
Zac finished his drink and zipped off to his room to change as well.
He let Ella know what was happening when he was done, and went back downstairs to meet up with Taylor.
"Hey, Tay," he greeted.
Taylor
"Hello Zac," he returned.
He opened the front door and stepped through.
"Don't forget your car keys."
Zac
"Already on me, oh prudent one," Zac replied.
He followed Taylor through the door, closed it behind him and headed to his car. After unlocking, he settled himself into the drivers seat.
Taylor
Taylor joined him in the passenger seat and they soon made it to the salon alive and well.
One of the girls working there had instantly recognised them, and sighed almost frustratedly.
"You can go first," Taylor offered to Zac.
Zac
"This was your idea, don't you wanna go first?" Zac asked, with a teasing grin. "Working up the nerve to cut off those pretty girl locks?"
Nonetheless, he got into the seat.
"Just a little off the top. And the bottom. Actually, not the bottom, because that would be like my roots right? That would hurt plus there'd be nothing to keep my hair on my head."
Taylor
"They're not girly," Taylor defended, sitting in the seat beside him.
He gave the hairdresser a general idea of what he wanted, before letting her decide the rest.
Zac
Zac made a strangled yelp of pain when the hairdresser made the first cut. She gave him an alarmed look and Zac laughed.
"Sorry, sorry," he chuckled. "Couldn't help myself. Go ahead."
He restrained from doing it a second time. But it was very hard.
Taylor
Taylor leant across and hit his brother on the arm. Quite hard.
"Behave," he insisted, noticing the girl watching from afar.
Zac
"Yes, dad," Zac mocked.
And with a grin on his face, settled back to let the girl cut his hair.
Taylor
Taylor just watched, aside from whenever his attention was diverted by something outside.
"You're getting it quite short again?" his eyebrows rose, noticing just how much was coming off.
Zac
Zac looked in the mirror.
"Hey! I said a little! A little!"
He met the girl's eyes in the mirror.
"This is revenge for the screaming thing, huh? Okay, okay I deserved it. You may continue."
Taylor
Taylor chuckled.
"Serves you right."
He sat back for the next hairdresser as she got him ready and began cutting his.
Zac
Zac looked at Taylor in the mirror and poked his tongue out at him, then looked at the hairdresser's reflection.
"Do you often get revenge in this manner? Or is it just me?"
"Just you."
"Just checking."
Taylor
"Oh look, Zac's special," Taylor grinned, finding it hard to keep his head still.
"Who's paying for this expedition anyway? Ike?"
Zac
"I thought we were each paying for our respective haircuts," Zac frowned. "I mean, I have money on me, so I can pay for you if you didn't bring any..."
Taylor
"I was joking," Taylor rolled his eyes.
"I've got plenty. Though we could make Ike pay if we wanted, I have his credit card for some reason."
Zac
Zac laughed.
"Yeah! Let's use it!" he beamed. "You know, assuming one of us know his PIN and none of the ladies here plan on remembering this conversation."
Taylor
"It's not like we haven't done it before," Taylor chuckled.
He took a moment to glance down at the hair all over the floor before looking up again.
"He wouldn't know which one of us to blame anyway."
Zac
"Very true," Zac cackled evilly. "Mwahaha! Pulling pranks on Ike goodness!"
"There you go," said the hairdresser. "All done."
Zac inspected his reflection.
"Okay," he said. "I think I like it short."
Taylor
"It's pretty much the same as last time you got it done," Taylor pointed out, as the hairdresser began cutting his fringe shorter.
She was soon done and he shook his hair out.
Zac
"That's not the point," Zac said.
Then he raised his eyebrows as he appraised Taylor's new haircut.
"Nice mullet."
Taylor
"It's not a mullet," Taylor defended, before standing up and reaching for his wallet.
He flashed Zac their older brother's credit card.
"See? Lord knows how I got it."
Zac
Zac smirked, then headed over to the counter and leant over.
"So. how much is that all up?" he asked.
Taylor
Taylor slipped Zac the card with a grin, just before the younger hairdresser found the guts to approach them and ask for an autograph.
Taylor delightfully obliged, keeping her and others distracted from what Zac was doing.
Zac
Zac conducted the transaction, remembering Isaac's PIN and doing a rather good imitation of his signature (practice?)
The clerk didn't have a problem with it, and the transaction went through fine. Zac then took card and receipt in hand and grinned at Tay.
"Done here, Tay," he said. "Are you?"
Taylor
"Yes, yes I am," Taylor replied, smiling at the girls.
"We'll see you next tour."
He finally pryed himself away and back to his brother.
"Let's go then," he grinned.
Zac
"Oooh Tay, flirting with the girls," Zac teased, as they walked out. "How much you wanna bet they keep some of your hair as a suvenier? Hey, maybe the fan will sell some on ebay!"
He grinned cheekily.
Taylor
"Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised," Taylor rolled his eyes.
"But hey, I'm single. I'm aloud to."
Then he sighed.
"It feels so weird to admit that."
Zac
It was then that Zac realised he might have been insensitive.
"Yeah..." he said softly. "But, hey, I'm sure that Mouse would like you to find someone... y'know? Even though you guys didn't work out..."
He suddenly felt awkward as he unlocked the car, knowing his part.
Taylor
"Yeah," Taylor nodded.
He tried not to smile.
"Although she did get possessive at times."
He got in the car.
Zac
"Well," Zac said as they went on their way. "A certain amount of posessiveness is good I think. Just so long as you're not making yourself or your partner miserable. Just a little bit. But enough enough to start getting jealous when they start talking to any random person of the opposite sex."
Taylor
"Well yeah, there has to be a boundary. Lord knows I know that," Taylor rolled his eyes.
There was a moment of silence before he chuckled to himself.
"Man, all three of us seriously suck at relationships."
Zac
Zac grinned.
"Yep," he agreed. "We all suck completely. And there need to be moderation in all things methinks... so obviously we need to balance out our suckiness with not-so-suckiness."
He nodded.
"Yes, I'm weird."
Taylor
"Well everyone knows that," Taylor shrugged.
He took to staring out the window.
"But I guess you're right. It'll have to look up sooner or later."
Zac
"Yeah, things can't go bad forever," Zac nodded.
He was quiet as he continued driving, uncertain as to what else to say.
