TX-2 pulled her stolen car into Westchester. She had her mission, and would not fail. She was to destroy the mutant menace in New York. She had a long list of targets in her database, the first being Scott Summers. She approached the mansion while it was still dark outside, disabling the security systems. She was unaware, however, that her presence had already been sensed..
Mark
"Sir! Sir!" Mark said, partically in a panic. "She's here! She's here!"
"Mark, Mark, calm down," Scott said. "Did you put those probes out front like I asked?"
"Yes sir!"
"Keep them on her. What she doing?"
"She's coming up the driveway. She's almost at the door! Don't let her kill me!"
Scott rolled his eyes.
"Just keep me informed of her movements," he looked at Logan.
"Cameras went down," Logan nodded.
"Okay. Jean? Everyone in position?"
Jean
we're all ready Jean said to Scott telepathically.
"Matt, I'm scared," Joelle whispered from their hiding place.
****
TX-2 entered the mansion, bullets her primary weapon.
Mark
Mark swore.
"She's inside!"
He said a few other majorly freaking out type things before Scott glared at him. He liked to spy on people but the moment he even considered that his life might be in danger...
"Is she heading towards the ambush site? Mark!"
Scott slapped him, and repeated his question.
"Y-yes."
"Okay good," Scott nodded to Logan.
Logan moved out of the room and into position with the other fighters.
"Don't worry," Matt said quietly. "I'm sure our friends can take care of it."
TX-2
TX-2 saw a picture on the wall, and changed her outer shape.
"Scott?" Kitty Pryde's voice called out from the hallway. "I need to talk to you for a minute!"
Mark
Scott frowned and looked at Jean.
"I thought everyone was in position?"
"It's herrrr," Mark squarked. "She changed shape."
Jean
"Scott! Help!" the fake Kitty called out.
Don't falter Jean said to Scott. It's not really her.
TX-2 kept moving down the hallway.
Mark
Scott nodded, then paused and sniffed the air.
"What's that smell?"
He looked around to a miserable looking Mark.
"Mark... you didn't?"
Mark nodded woefully. Scott groaned.
"Where is she in relation to the ambush site?"
"Almost there."
"C'mon Jean, we'd better join the others now."
"Don't leave me!" Mark looked panicked.
Scott gave him an irritated look.
"You know where she is," he said. "Go clean yourself up and find some place to hide. I'm sure I can trust you to keep out of her way."
Mark looked like he was going to cry.
Jean
Jean and Scott joined the others at the ambush site. T-X2 kept moving the way she had.
Scott
They watched as the T-X2 moved forward. Logan edged around the side - he would have prefered to tackle her head on but even with his healing factor too many bullets at once would hinder his ability to slice her up properly.
Scott put a finger to his visor... then slam! He hit her with his force beams, throwing her against the wall.
Jean and Kitty
TX-2 regrouped and began firing again. Jean stopped the bullets with her telekinesis, and pushed them back into the T-X. She was still standing, but her primary weapon was damaged. SHe changed her arm to a flamethrower.
"Kitty now!" Jean called. Kitty Pryde phased through TX-2 shorting her out. She would reboot, but it bout them a few moments.
"Logan!" Jean directed.
Logan
"Raaah!" Logan exhulted as he whirled toward the terminator.
Snick! Claws unsheathed. One hand cut off her arm, the other her head. Adamantium. Beautiful.
And he did not need to be directed by Jean to do his job. What did she think he was? Stupid?
Kitty and Hank
After it was done, Kitty picked up her head.
"Her neural processor is in her brain cavity, right?" Kitty asked.
"That's what John said," Jean answered.
"I'm gonna take this down to the lab and hook it up to the computer," Kitty said. She looked at Logan with her best, 'You know you love me, I'm your 'Half-Pint'" look.
"Could you carry the rest of her down to the lab? I want to take her apart. I have the whole rest of the month off from Uni, so I'm sure Hank won't mind. Right?" She batted her eyes at Beast, who was sitting in the back of the ambush area.
"I suppose," he said in his light, jovial manner. "But please don't attempt to put her back together without consulting the rest of us."
"Deal."
Scott
Logan eyed Kitty, muttered something about not being a lackey, but picked up the body and started towards the lab. It was as good a spot as any, and he was not going to have it just lying around.
"Keep us apprised of your results," Scott said to Kitty. "You may want to get Forge in on it too."
It wasn't a request.
"Okay, emergency over," he went on. "Let's let everyone know they can stand down and get back to... whatever it is that they're normally doing at this time."
Kitty
"Otay," Kitty said, happily holding the head. "I'll call him and ask him to come over as soon as he can."
Scott
"Good," Scott nodded. "Okay, lets get things back to normal people."
He was going to have to track down Mark - and get some backbone into him.
Kitty
"Groovy," Kitty said, and got to work hooking up the head to a computer.
