~Somewhere in the not-too-distant future~
Skynet's power surged happily. She would succeed this time.
One T-X to take out the alien threat in space.
One T-X to take out the Connors and their Slayer army.
One T-X to take out the mutant threat in New York.
*****
The Resistance knew what they had to do. They'd captured another assassin prototype and reconfigured him to protect the Connors. Unfortunately they could not send more than one. John Connor prayed that the aliens could protect themselves.
*****
~Jan. 14, 2005~
The snow vaporized beneath the two assassins. They had their assignments. TX-2 would go to New York. TX-3 would go to Ohio.
TX-1 had been directly transported to the Space Station.
*****
"John Connor!" a familiar voice called in the distance.
John looked up, almost not believing what he had heard.
"IT's you!"
"Negative. I am not either of the Terminators you have encountered in the past. You are in grave danger. 3 T-Xs have been dispatched through the time matrix. We believe that Skynet is attempting to destroy not only your family, but all non-human resistance."
"Wait, you mean the aliens?"
"Correct. As well as mutants. We believe one has been sent to the space station, one to New York, and one here."
"Oh my God!" kate said. "We have to call somebody, let the station know that she's up there!"
"Negative," the Terminator said. "We must flee."
"No." John said firmly. "We're going to let our friends know what's coming. I'm not losing anyone else." Kate ran inside to call the Station, and John grabbed his mobile and dialed the mansion.
Oliver
The receptionist sighed and looked at Oliver.
"She's very insistant," she said. "Do you mind?"
"What's it about?" Oliver asked.
"Oh, some nonsense about there being a threat on the station. Probably just a crank, but..."
Oliver nodded and picked up the phone.
"Hello? Oliver Braddock speaking."
Kate C
"It's Kate Connor. A Terminator assassin has been sent to the station. It's a T-X. I've emailed Hunter all the information I have about how it function. It will probably appear as an unassuming woman."
Oliver
"Terminators?" Oliver repeated. "Doesn't that have something to do with the Skynet thing from last year?"
As he was asking this, he was also emailing Hunter to confirm recepit of Kate's email.
Kate C
"Yeah," Kate said. "We didn't stop it, just delayed it. This Terminatrix came back in time from the future to wipe out the alien threat on machines. She's armed with automatic weapons, a flamethrower and explosives. SHe's liquid metal over solid exo-skeleton, so she can change her appearance at will."
Oliver
Oliver pursed his lips.
"I see," he said. "Okay, thanks for the heads up. We'll get right on it."
**********
Meanwhilst, back on Earth, Xavier was picking up his phone.
"Hello?"
John
"Professor? It's John Connor. I wanted to give you the heads up that a shape-shifting cyborg is headed your way. A T-X, like the one I told you about earlier."
Xavier
"Hmm, thanks for the information John," Xavier said. "What's required to disable it?"
John
"You need to destroy her neural processor," John said. "Severing her head from her body should work, and shorting her out will buy you some time, but she'll reboot pretty quickly. Kate's going to email you the scematics we have."
Xavier
"Okay," Xavier said. "We'll get right on it. Thanks again."
He had better call an urgent meeting.
John
John hung up the phone and turned to the T-101.
"I order you to help me defend this school and destroy the T-X."
"Affirmative." John and the Terminator followed Kate inside to find Giles and Willow. Willow sent out a telepathic message to every member of the school.
Attention. All classes, sparring sessions, study halls and leisure time is cancelled. Everyone report to the auditorium, in15 minutes.
Friday
Friday frowned, but she and her friends started heading towards the auditorium.
"I wonder what this is all about?" she said.
"I guess we'll find out in 15 minutes," Lilly said cheerfully.
Willow and Giles
After everybody was settled in Willow, Giles, Kate and John took the stage.
"Okay girls, quiet down," Giles said. "I was hesitant to tell you all of this, because I don't want to start a panic."
"But I reminded him," Willow said, "That we agreed we'd always be honest with you. You are all in great danger." There was a murmer throughout the auditorium.
"Quiet please," Giles said. "John?"
"Many of you who have taken my classes know about the Terminator threat. A few of the older girls also know that the terminator assassins have come back in time, in the past, to kill me. This is a Terminator, reprogrammed, for our protection," John said, and pointed out Terminator.
"Three Terminators, of the T-X model have been dispatched into this timeline. They are liquid metal over a cybernetic endoskeleton. Therefore they can change their shape to appear like any person they wish. One has been sent to the Space Station, one to the Xavier Mansion, and one is coming here," John let the announcement sink in for a moment.
Friday
"What space station?" Lilly whispered.
"The YIRAAS have one," Friday replied.
"What's YIRAAS?"
"The 'Yes, I'm Really An Alien Society'."
"Seriously?"
"Whoever came up with the name had a sense of humour."
Kate and John Connor
"All of you," Kate said, "Except the oldest girls who have already had firearms training will be going underground in the bomb shelter. Becky, Maura, and Susie and I will be in charge. Ryder," she said, eyeing him in the back of the auditorium, "You're going underground with us, okay?"
"I'd like the following people to come to the front of the auditorium," John said. "Friday Black, Darcy Manson, Armelle Margrethe, Carlee Smith, Kella, Lillian Death, and Melaina. The rest of you please follow Kate down into the tunnels." John had only selected the best fighters to help. The groups began to separate, the larger one heading down into safety.
"Okay," John said to the girls he had called up. "You're all going to put on one of these bullet-proof vests under your clothes, no questions asked."
Ryder and Friday
Ryder followed the others into the underground. He should find Tygeth or Chris and inquire about the horses.
Friday and Lilly said goodbye to their friends who weren't going up, and made their way to the stage. They each took one of the bullet-proof vests, and waited for further instructions.
Willow
When the younger girls were safe, John and Giles left the room so that the girls could put their vests on.
"Look at me," Kella complained. "This totally doesn't accentuate my curves at all."
"I don't think the T-X wants to hit on you," Melaina said. She adjusted her shirt to hide the vest, and helped Armelle with hers. John and Giles came back in.
"After I explain what we're going to do, I'd like you to go back to your rooms, in groups, and change into comfortable clothes. Track pants, cotton shirts, and gym shoes. No leather pants, no halter tops."
"Nothing that will constrict you on an escape," Willow explained.
"I get it," Kella said, "I just don't like it."
"It's negative 6 degrees outside," Willow said, "Don't you think you might stand out in leather pants and a halter top?"
"Point." While they were talking, John brought out a trunk the girls had never seen before. John opened the trunk to show the girls the contents. It contained about 15 machine guns, ammo, some grenades and a rocket launcher.
"Everyone take a gun," John directed.
Friday
Friday looked over the truck.
"Cool," she said, waiting to get a gun out. "Now that's what I call fire power."
Lilly took out a gun for herself and moved so that Friday could get one too.
Armelle and John
"I'ma little worried," Armelle said. "You never showed us these before."
"It's like a combination of the aemi-automatic handguns we were using last week, and the rifles we used last month. We're going to go outside and do a bit of target practice, then we're just going to sit tight until she shows up. Go put on warm, comfortable clothes and sneakers, and meet me out at the firing range in fifteen minutes,"{ John directed. "Go in groups of two or three."
"Okay," Armelle said, as she picked up her gun. "Let's go."
Friday
Friday headed back with a group of her friends, and then slipped into the room she shared with Armelle.
"Well, this is certainly a change from routing," Friday mused as she located a change of clothes.
Armelle
"At least nobody can accuse us of leading boring lives," Armelle said, as she changed into warm, but not too baggy clothing. Loose clothing was easy to snag, but tight clothing was too constricting. After she was dressed, she hung her fan from her belt, and picked up her gun.
"Ready to go?"
Friday
Friday slipped her sais - tonight both pairs - into her belt and nodded.
"To the firing range!"
She resisted the urge to add "Robin".
John
When everyone was accounted for, John showed them how to load, hold and fire the machine guns properly.
"Once you all get the hang of it, split up in groups of 3 or 4 to patrol the campus. Everyone clip a flare gun to their belt, and if you see anything that doesn't seem right, send up a flare. Giles went inside to call Barak, and see if we can get some pladain backup. We can beat her, but don't be foolish." John said. He and the terminator split up with the girls.
Friday
Friday paid close attention to John's instructions and then set about following them. She clipped the falre gun to her belt, and then practiced loading and firing.
After some time, Friday grinned at her schoolmates.
"So has anyone here not gotten a bullseye at least once?"
John, Carlee and Armelle
Everyone agreed that they were prepared, and John split them up.
"Friday, Armelle, Darcy and Kella will go with the Terminator. Carlee, Lilly and Melaina wil come with me and Willow. If you get separated from the Terminator, Friday is team leader. If something happens to me or Willow, Melaina is in charge."
The girls divided into their groups, and waited furter instructions.
"Friday, your group will take the north side of campus, start behind the stables and check on the horses. We'll take the south side. Everyone ready?"
"Ready," Carlee said, snapping the new bullet cartridge into her gun.
"Ready," Armelle said.
"Good," John said, "Let's go."
Friday
Cool. She was team leader. Well, if they were separated from Mr Nice Terminator Dude. Heh.
Friday nodded and made sure she and her team had enough ammo.
"Let's go," she said.
They headed towards the north of campus.
Willow
"Day, do you really think we can kill this thing?" Armelle asked. Everyone was patrolling her designated area, unaware that at that very moment, a young slayer was downtown, cutting school. Marla was at the movies, blissfully unaware of the problems back at school.
~*~*~
"Marla Smythe?" a woman asked in the cinema loo.
"Aye," the 13-year-old answered.
"Good." Within seconds the girl was dead.
~*~*~
"Something's wrong," Willow said, back on patrol. "An ebb in the slayer power." She looked at John with a shocked look. "I think a slayer has been killed." she said so that only he could hear.
Friday
"Sure we can. It'll be dead meat before the day is out," Friday said confidently. "Or alternatively, dead circuits.
"I'd rather deal with vampires," Kella commented.
Armelle
A young girl came up to one of the groups.
"Hey, what's going on?" Marla asked.
"Did you cut school again?" ARmelle asked.
"Yes."
Friday
"Well," said Kella. "It was a bad day to cut school. There's a terminator on the loose."
"Yes," said Friday, musingly. "One who can shapeshift even."
Her hand moved to her gun.
T-X
"Friday Black?" she said, pulling out her own gun. She raised at Friday and fired.
Friday
Friday dusted the bullet with her atom manipulation just before it reached her.
"Cool," she said before aiming her own gun at the terminator and firing, aiming for the terminators shooting arm first.
The other girls followed suite.
T-X
The T-X backed away, absorbing the bullets and fired a plasma blast. Her arm was damages, however, and she missed. The blast hit about a foot away. Enough to knock the girls off their feet, but not kill them. She'd worry about that later, THe Connors and their unborn child were her top priotity.
Friday
Friday picked herself up.
"After it girls," she said. "Someone radio the other team and let them know."
"On it," Kella said, picking up her radio. "Beta to Alpha. Beta to Alpha."
"Beta to Alpha?" Darcy repeated.
"Well, no one assigned team names," Kella pointed out.
"Darcy, stay with her," Friday instructed. "Armelle you and I are going to follow. You two catch up asap."
Friday started running after the T-X.
Willow
Willow sensed the power disturbance before they even heard the radio. THe T-X was fast, but she was ready The bullets camne flying towards them.
"thicken." the said, holding out her hand, her eyes glowing white. The bullets hit am imvisible wall and dropped to the ground.
Friday
"They're not answering," Kella said.
"Well, duh," Darcy replied. "You said so yourself, we didn't assign names. How are they supposed to know that they're Alpha?"
"Because Alpha is first. And it stands to reason that - "
"Just report it."
Meanwhile, Friday and Armelle were racing after the T-X. The T-X was faster than them, but it had also been damaged.
"Gunfire," Armelle said between breaths.
"Yeah," Friday confirmed.
They headed to the sound.
Willow
//Friday, get your team here now// Willow said telepathically. John lifted up the rocket launcher and fired. She was blown back, the polymimetic liquid metal pooling around its injuries.
Friday
Friday refrained from yelling "already here" as she and Armelle closed the distance to the T-X. They fired.
"No response," Kella said.
"I can hear that," Darcy replied.
"We should probably catch up with Day and Armelle."
"Yeah, I can hear gunfire."
So they forgot the radio idea, and the two ran towards the sounds of gunfire.
Armelle and John
Armelle swung with her fan, taking off one of the T-X's arms.
"The HEAD, THE HEAD!" JOhn screamed. Armelle swung again, but the T-X shot her in the leg.
Friday
Friday, her gun now out of ammo (what timing), unshethed her sais and threw both of them at the T-X's head. Kella and Darcy showed up just in time to see the technically blunt weapons slam into the T-X - one through the temple, the other though the neck (there's slayer strength for you).
Willow
Armelle lay on the ground, shot three times- her thigh, hip and shoulder. Lilly and Melaina ran to her side, while the Terminator actually ripped the T-X's head off her body.
"Friday," Willow directed. "Can you please carry Armelle to the infirmary. Hurry, please."
John and the Terminator gathered the pieces and carried them away. Willow telepathically alerted the infirmary.
Friday
Friday gave a nod, and then carefully picked up her injured roommate.
"I'll try not to jar you too much," she promised.
Friday then hurried to the infirmary, trying to be both quick and careful at the same time.
Armelle
"You ruined your sais," Armelle said, dazed and weakly.
Friday
"Bah," Friday dismissed. "Sais can be replaced. Not so easy to replace you."
At last they arrived at the infirmary. There was a wheeled bed ready and waiting and Friday put her down on it.
Ending as written by Joy
The school's doctors started working on Armelle right away. Luckily slayers heal quickly, and she would survive.
