Julie arrived at the mansion, Tinga, Josh, Cindy and Dax along with her. B'E and Tom were with Annika back home.
After managing to get through security at the gate, Julie parked, put the four babies into her really big stroller, and headed towards the medlab. She had purposely chosen a time when people were in class so she could avoid people looking at her.
"Hi Hank," Julie said upon her arrival.
Hank
"Hello Julie, what brings you here today? And who are these fine new additions?" Hank asked about Cindy and Dax.
Julie
"These are Cindy and Dax," Julie replied. "I went to an alternate dimension for a few days, only over there a year passed, and it turned out that I was pregnant to Bobby, so... yeah. To people who I can't tell that story to, they're Tinga and Josh's quadruplet sisters."
She shifted her weight to her other foot.
"Which kinda bring me to why I'm here... I wanted to get a DNA test done on Tinga and Josh to find out who their father is."
Hank
"Are you ready to know?" Hank asked seriously. "I'm willing to do the test, and we don't even need to inform all the possible fathers, since I keep samples of dna of everyone who attend the school in my computer," Hank said. "Are you prepared for this information?"
Julie
"No," Julie admitted. "I don't want to know. I could go along quite happily not knowing. But... but there was an incident a couple of weeks back... and well, being second gen mutants, and mutant powers being hereditary... I just... I think it's something I need to know, whether I want to or not."
Hank
"Allright," Hanks said seriously. "I just need to swab the inside of their cheeks, and that's it, it doesn't even hurt. Then I'll put th DNA samples in the computer, and it'll spit out the results in a couple hours." Hank said He took cotton swabs, and took their DNA samples, and put them into the little machine Forge had built for him.
Julie
"Okay, thanks," Julie said. "Thanks a lot."
She chewed her bottom lip for a moment.
"Well, I... I guess I'll wander around the campus for a bit, if that's okay... I wouldn't want to interfere with any work you still have to do or anything."
Hank
"All right," Hank said, going back to work. A while later, the computer beeped with the results. Hank looked them over, breathing a sigh of relief. Dirk wasn't the father. He was just waiting for Julie to return now.
Julie
Julie did a little tour of the mansion, and chatted to some old friends, and studiously avoided Scott. Some time later she returned to the medlab.
"Hi," she said shyly, with a tinge of nervousness. "Got the results yet?"
Hank
"Well, good news first," Hank said. "Dirk is not the father of either of them."
Julie
There was no denying the smile that appeared on Julie's face.
"Really?" she said. "That's... that is good news."
She suddenly felt as if a great weight had been lifted off her.
Hank
"So, it seems that they do have spearate fathers after all. Lance Alvers is Josh's father, and Tinga's father is Octavian," Hank told Julie, greatful he was able to tell her it wasn't Dirk.
Julie
"Oh wow, really?" Julie looked down at her children. "Well, that explains Annika's story about Josh turning into dirt. And Octavian..."
She wondered what Bobby would think of that.
"Thanks heaps, Hank. I really appreciate it."
Hank
"Any time," Hank said.
Julie
Julie said goodbye and, with another thank you, soon departed. So, Josh was Lance's, and Tinga Octavian's. Turned out Aranince's idea of there being two fathers was right after all.
