Avie's Back

Written by Nessa and Michelle

Avery

Avery stepped out of the lift and into the space station and looked around, with a faint trace of a smile on her lips.

She hitched her bag higher on her shoulder and headed to her old room. Once she'd dumped her things, she thought about getting food and finding Libby and the boys.

She'd ask about Tanya later.

Libby

Libby and the boys were just contemplating the meaning of life (Read: Matt had just suggested they call themselves "42"), when Millsy noticed someone rather familiar in the corner of his eye. He turned his head to get a better look.

"Avie?"

"Where?" Libby asked.

"There," Millsy pointed.

"Omigosh, it is too! Avie!" Libby called. "Avie, over here!"

Avie

"Hey," Avie said, walking over to the group.

"So, did you morons miss me? Libby, did you miss me too?"

"Awww, how come she's not included in the moron thing?" Millsy said, pouting.

Avie shrugged.

"Because she's not a moron?"

Libby

Libby grinned, and got out of her seat to give Avery a hug.

"We all missed you heaps," she said.

"You're right, neither of you girls are morons," Dan said. "You're both idiots."

"Jerk."

"I thought I was a moron."

Avie

"Loser," Avie said, nodding. "You're everything we say you are."

She plonked down in a chair and tied her hair back.

"So, what's been going on?"

Matt and Dan

"We just slaughtered the Reds again in another mighty battle of basketball," Matt said. "They had to buy us drinks."

"Man cannot live on drink alone," said Dan. "Next time let's make them buy us dinner."

"Yeah! And get really expensive food!"

Avie

"So, not much has changed then," Avery said.

"That's reassuring."

She sat back in her seat.

Libby

Libby grinned.

"But if you had waited a couple of weeks, things would have changed," Josh said.

"Why's that?" asked Libby.

"My cousins are moving here. And Trent is our age - he's cool - so he'd be hanging out with us."

"What makes you think that your standard of cool meets our standard of cool?"

Avie

"Because Josh is up himself," Avery said, nodding.

"Hey! Nah, I'd protest, but it's true," Josh replied, giggling.

Libby

"At least he admits it," Matt nodded. "Hey! Maybe that should be our name! Josh is Up Himself. Or JUH for short."

"JUH?" Libby repeated. "Matt... I'm beginning to wonder about you."

Avery

"Matt's harbouring secret feelings for Josh. Speaking of which, I'm hungry," Avery announced.

"That didn't have anything to do with Josh... or Matt," Dan said, looking confused.

"Awww, he's so cute when he's confused. Come on bitch, let's get food," she said, pulling Dan to his feet.

"Well... can't argue with that, I spose," Dan replied, shrugging as he followed Avery.

Libby

"Hey can you get me something to?" Libby called.

"Pizza! With anchovies," Millsy suggested.

"Umm, eww."

Milly chuckled evilly.

"Turdface."

Avie

"I can do this thing you ask," Avie called back.

She then jumped on Dan's back.

"Woot, onwards bitch!"

Dan chuckled and hitched Avery higher as they went to the servery.

"Ok... gay pizza for Millswah, good pizza for me and Libs..."

Dav let Avery down and they got the food, and headed back to the table.

Libby

"Mmm... pizza..." Matt swooned.

"Thankies!" Libby smiled.

"Where's mine?" Millsy said.

"I believe you asked for anchovies?" Josh said, gesturing to the pizza in question.

Millsy looked pained.

Avie

Avery grinned and flicked a bit of cheese at Josh.

"Ok, you losers, we need something exciting to do."

Libby

"Food fight?" Josh suggested.

"Let's take over the world!" Matt said enthusiastically.

"How about we try eating lunch first?" Libby said, taking a bite of out her slice of pizza.

Avie

"Lunchables, yum!" Avery said, eating some of her pizza.

"Maybe we could... hmmm... I have to get in contact with Tanya one of these days..."

Libby

"So you can learn how to do more tricks?" asked Dan. "Cool."

"Dan wishes he was telepathic," Libby said.

"Do not. I'm perfectly happy with my Vacuum."

"I'm sure your future wife will be too."

Avie

"More like his future husband," Avery commented.

She checked her watch.

"Why are there no hot guys here?"

"Ahem," Matt said, grinning. "What am I? Chopped liver?"

"Yes."

Libby

"This is a good question," Libby agreed. "Why are there no hot guys here? I demand to know."

"Because you're a lesbian. And lesbians wouldn't know a hot guy if she fell over one in the street."

Avie

"I think lesbians could still see hot guys, they just wouldn't be attracted to them," Avery pointed out.

She finished her pizza.

"Ok... what can we do?"

Libby

"Watch Millsy finish his," Libby said gleefully, batting her eyes at Millsy.

"You're a sick, sick little girl."

"I'm sure Matt can heal me."

"I think I speak for all healers when I say, no one can cure what you've got, Libby," Matt responded.

Avie

"Ew," Millsy said, making a face.

Avery giggled and reclined back into her chair.

"Eat it. Do eet!"

Libby

Libby decided it was time for a chant.

"Eat. Eat. Eat. Eat."

Josh and Dan looked at each other, grinned and joined in.

"Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat!"

Avery

"Do eet or I'll punch your ghey head in!" Avery threatened.

Millsy stared at his pizza.

Libby

"You asked for it!" Libby grinned, before rejoining the chant.

Matt decided to join in the chant as well.

"Eat! Eat! Eat!"

Avery

Millsy made a face and took a bite of the pizza.

"YUCK!"

Avery giggled.

"Ewwww."

Libby

"That is seriously gross," Libby said.

"You wanted him to eat it," Dan pointed out.

"So did you."

"Naturally," and Dan leaned over to Millsy, a teasing gleam in his eye. "Yum, yum, yum."

Avery

Avery rubbed her eyes.

"Ok, that was seriously gross. Millsy, I suggest you go wash your mouth out."

Libby

"Y'know that's a good idea. I think I'll do it... right now," Millsy said.

He stood, took the rest of the pizza, and departed to dump it in the bin and wash his mouth.

Libby chuckled evilly.

Avery

"Step one, making Millsy eat something gross. Step two, taking over the world."

Avery chuckled.

Libby

"Yay for taking over the world. What shall we take over first?" Libby asked.

"Umm, that pizza place," Matt suggested.

Avery

"Cool, and we'll prevent everyone from eating there."

Avery scratched her chin.

"Do we have any classes today?"

Libby

"Nope," Libby replied. "They decided to make today a pupil free day. Some meeting."

"What I don't understand is why they made it Thursday and not Friday," said Josh. "We could have had a long weekend."

Avie

"Is Tanya here?" Avery asked.

"Or is there any way that I can contact her if she's not?"

Libby

"I think she's here like, 90% of the time," Libby said. "The only times she's not here is when she's helping to test the amplifiers on the sending end. You could always go to the Ga'Revali Hall - they always know where she is."
