Hanging out

Written by Joy and Michelle

Tina

Tina came home from school and collapsed onto a sofa. She darted into her room and changed out of her uniform and then went on a quest to find Mia, hoping she'd be done with her tutoring.

Mia

"No really, Prime Minister, I think your plan to expand housing by decreasing the size of the local forests has a great deal of merit," Mia was saying to her reflection in the mirror. "However, in the interests of... of... Argh."

Mia glared at the mirror.

"Prime Minister, I can't believe you could even suggest that destorying forests is in anyway a good idea you slimy piece of cheese. There are other ways of managing the housing situation, you moron."

Tina

"Um, Mia? I don't think that the Prine Minister will eally enjoy being called a slimy peice of cheese," Tina said, standing at the ajar door.

Mia

Mia turned around at the sound of her friend's voice.

"No, probably not," she agreed. "My tutor has me practicing diplomacy. You know, learning how to tell somene to go tell hell and make them look forward to the trip. He gave me this scenario and now I have to figure out how to get my way without offending anyone."

She rolled her eyes.

Tina

She opened the door all the way and collapsed on Mia's bed.

"What shall we do today? Movie? Homework? Shopping?" Tina said

Mia

"Homework sucks," Mia said.

She plonked down next to Tina.

"I dunno... go to the balcony and throw water bombs at the guards? See if we actually hit any? No, only kidding."

Tina

"We could throw eggplants out the window again," Tina suggested. "Or, um, I dunno, ride the funny-looking bicycle?"

Mia

"Yeah, lets' ride the funny looking bicycle," Mia said agreeably.

She got off the bed again.

Tina

"Cool, I've been wanting to try them, but they're not exactly common, except here. Kinda scary-looking though," Tina said, getting off the bed. Ever since she went to the beauty parlour, she had been working hard to stay in shape, and was exercising more, and feeling really good about herself as a person. She even liked it, sometimes, 'ccause she could read her romance novelswhile she exercised.

Mia

"Okay, we should have a couple here," Mia said. "Come!"

She walked out of the room and headed to the palace garage.

Tina

"Groovy groovy," Tina said. "Now, how are we supposed to get up?"

Mia

"Uhh," Mia looked around. "Okay, we'll just wheel them over to that fence there. And lets hope we don't fall off once we're on."

She grinned to show she was joking about the falling down part. It couldn't be that difficult to ride one when they knew how to ride normal bicycles, right?

Tina

"All right, we can do this, we're tough chicks," Tina said. She climbed onto the bike, but didn't want to let go of the fence.

Mia

Mia giggled at the sight of her friend.

"Okay... here I go..." she said, letting go.

She wobbled a bit at first, but as soon as she got some momentum going, she was fine.

Tina

Seeing Mia succeed, Tina let go. She also wafvered a bit, but caught on quickly. "Hey, this is fun," she said.

Mia

"Yep! Hey, race you!" Mia grinned, riding around.

She looked around for somewhere to race to.

Tina

'Um, how bout to that tree over there," TIna said, pointing. "THree two one, go!" she counted and started pedaling.

Mia

Mia raced over to the tree as fast as she could on the unfamilar bicycle. It was neck and neck as they approached the tree together.

Tina

Tina laughed as they tied, of course.

Mia

Mia giggled.

"That was fun," she said, awkwardly slipping off the bicycle. "Again?"

And so the two girls had fun riding the 'funny looking bikes'.
