"Willow!" Dawn cried, hugging her friend. She and Clark had come down for a few days to visit and check out the school.
"Going to give us the nickel tour?" Clark asked.
"Sure," Willow said. "It's a Sunday, so no classes, of course, most of the older girls have gone into town, but you'll see some people I'm sure. We can walk around town, as well."
Melaina
Melaina was working out in the gym, taking a break from her personal slayer studies. Teaching during the week, studying during the weekend, Melaina was relieved that domestic science didn't require as much out of class time effort as other subjects did.
Dawn, Clark and Willow
"How about the nickle tour?" Dawn asked.
"Sure," Willow said. Dawn and Clark held hands as they walked about the grounds.
"It's such a nice day, not cold yet," Clark said.
"We're from California," Willow said, "As far as we're concerned it's starting to get chilly."
"Yeah, well, you never survived a Kansas winter. Fun though."
Ryder
Ryder had some time off, and was using it to execise Valiant. They had just slowed down form a most fulfilling canter, and he vaguely noticed Willow with a couple of people he hadn't seen before.
Dawn, Clark and Willow
"This place seems pretty cool. It's like Hogwarts, only without the Londonyness," Dawn said.
"Lay off the Harry Potter, Kintone," Clark replied, rolling his eyes.
"Bite me," Dawn joked back.
"Didn't we learn in Sunnydale not to say that to people?" Willow mock scolded.
"Who's that?" Dawn asked, pointing to Ryder, her blood red hair blowing in the wind. Dlark looked thw two girls over. He had gotten so used to seeing magical and mutant women with strange hair and eyecolours. He wondered what they looked like to outsiders, Dawn with her blood red hair and copletely green eyes, and Willow with her white hair and silver eyes.
"That's Ryder, he's a stable hand here. Hey Ryder, come meet some of my friends," Willow called, waving him over.
Ryder
Ryder heard Willow's call, and turned Valiant around. He trotted over to them, then slid off Valiant, and stood next to him, hand firm on the reins.
"Good day," He said.
Willow, Dawn and Clark
Willow smiled. "Ryder, these are some friends of mine, Dawn and Clark. Dawn's older sister and I went to highschool together. They just thought they'd pay us a visit."
"Stablehand, hey?" Clark affirmed, "I'm a farm boy myself, corn and raised," he joked. The horse gave Clark momentary chills-- he was the spitting image of Lana's horse.
Ryder
Ryder blinked and gave Clark an odd look, as if he didn't get the joke (which, head being full of horses all the time, he didn't).
"Nice ta meet you," Ryder said slowly.
Dawn and Clark
"Get it? Corn & raised? Like 'born & raised,' only with corn, 'cause, meh, nobody gets my humour," Clark pretended to pout.
"But we love you anyway," Dawn said. "Let's go see Roz, I want to ask her about that anti-nightmare potion she was telling me about. Nice to meet you, Ryder."
Ryder
Ryder nodded his head.
"Hope you enjoy your visit," he said. "Bye."
Odd people.
