Silence

Written by AiMsTeR and Michelle

Taylor

Taylor sat staring at the coffee table in the apartment.

Zac hadn't been there for a few days, and Isaac was on the piano working on something they'd started on during his last visit. He ha dno idea of where Tad was.

He diverted his eyes to the door. Something seemed to be pulling him toward it.

He felt like he needed to get out.

Pursing his lips a little, he stood and grabbed his jacket and made for the door.

Tad

"Where do ya think you're going?" drawled Tad, noticing that his charge was making for the front door.

He was not going to let that kid go out without his supervision, not after the reaming he got from Tanya. And he couldn't watch both of them if they were in different places.

Taylor

"Out," Taylor replied simply.

"Need some fresh air. Haven't left for days."

Tad

"Yeah? Well, you either talk your brother to come along, or we stay here."

Tad folded his arms arcoss his chest determindly.

Taylor

Taylor turned back and stared at him for a considerable amount of time, almost as if he was daring him.

"We don't need to be joined at the hip," Taylor insisted.

"Look, I'm fine. I just need some time alone for once. And Ike will be in there for hours on end."

He reached for the door handle.

Tad

Tad intercepted Taylor.

"I can't keep an eye on both of you at the same time, kid."

Taylor

"Like you ever cared before," Taylor glared.

"Get out of my way."

Tad

Tad narrowed his eyes and stood his ground.

"Ask Isaac, or stay here."

Taylor

"Get out of my way," Taylor repeated, "before I have to make you get out of my way."

Tad

"Taylor, I could stand here all day," Tad retorted. "Gee, is it so hard to ask your brother if he wants to go out too?"

Taylor

"I don't need him, and I don't need you. What I need, is space," Taylor insisted wholeheartedly, almost looking as if he was holding himself back from doing something irrational.

Tad

"Listen, kid, if you didn't need me, I wouldn't be here," Tad replied. "Go ask your brother."

Taylor

Taylor hesitated, then glared.

"This is getting tedious."

Flinging his hand out slightly, he gave Tad a large atomic shock to make him stand back, then grabbed the door handle and opened the door to step through.

Tad

"What the -" Tad jumped.

Then he narrowed his eyes, put his hand on Taylor's shoulder and yanked him back.

"I don't think so, kid."

Taylor

Taylor fell back slightly, but when he recovered he turned instantly and hit Tad fair across the jaw.

Not giving him time to recooperate, he stepped through the door and closed it behind him - meddling with the lock with his atom manipulation before starting down the hallway to the stairs.

Isaac

"Crap," Tad yelled, pounding the front door.

"Uhh, what's going on?" Isaac asked.

"That stupid fecking brother of yours just ran off," and Tad turned on Isaac. "And how, I ask you, am I supposed to keep an eye on both of you, if you don't stay together? What am I? A miracle worker?"

"Tay probably just needed sometime alone -"

"Well guess what? In case you haven't noticed, he can't have time alone."

Taylor

Taylor didn't hesitate for a moment as he made his way down the stairs and out of the apartment complex.

He made his way to where they kept their bikes and began to start one up.

Isaac

"Hey!" Tad yelled.

"What?" Isaac asked.

"You just tried to attack me!"

"Uhh, excuse me?"

"Your outta control telekinesis. You were trying to bang my head against the wall."

"Oh, sorry."

"No, you're not," Tad scrowled at him and set his atom manipulation to work on the door.

You'd think with all the effort he was going to they'd be a little more grateful.

Tad managed to open the door and ran as fast as he could towards the garage. Best check to see if he had gone for a walk, or has actually taken something with him. Isaac followed, but only after he was sure they could still lock the front door.

Taylor

"Come on..." Taylor murmured as the bike refused to start for a moment.

With a grunt he finally got it going and wheeled it through the door before jumping on and starting down the driveway.

Isaac

"Hold it!" Tad yelled, racing into the garage. "Don't you dare!"

Isaac, only a few seconds behind, poked his head in.

"Tad, can't you just let him have a few minutes - "

"Shut up! Taylor, get the hell off that bike," Tad scrowled, running after to grab the bike handles.

Taylor

Taylor snorted, swerving a little to avoid him as he got onto the road.

"Don't follow me!" he yelled back to him.

Isaac

"Don't follow me, he says," Tad sneered.

"Just leave him alone," Isaac said.

"Oh, I see. First your complaining to Tanya that I'm not doing my job - then you're complaining that I am. Well you can't have it both ways," Tad snarled. "Give me your motorbike key."

"Why?"

"So I can go after him, of course."

"And leave me behind, also not doing your job."

"Taylor's the bigger risk."

"He's a bigger risk just by you going after him. I'm surprised your attitude alone hasn't triggered another incident."

"Give. Me. Your. Key."

Taylor

Taylor growled lowly to himself as he glanced in the rear vision mirror and saw the two on his tail.

Rolling his eyes he sped up a little, before making it to the park where he usually went and ditching the bike by the park bench.

Then he made for the surrounding trees and made his way into the parkland.

Isaac

"There! There!"

"I saw. There's no need to scream in my ear," Isaac rebuked.

Isaac had managed to retain his key and drive his motorcycle. He drove to the side where Taylor's was and parked. Tad practically launched off it to race after Taylor. Isaac rolled his eyes.

"Taylor!" Tad shrieked.

Taylor

Taylor laughed when he heard Tad's yells, just continuing further through the brush. He could hear the small twigs breaking and crunches of the soil as Tad's feet met the ground, and knew he was catching up.

Shrugging to himself slightly, he blanched as he felt one of his sudden headaches coming on, but dismissed it and kept walking.

Isaac

"Aha!" Tad yelled, Taylor in his sights.

He launched himself towards him and grabbed his charge.

Isaac caught up in time to see Tad scolding Taylor and sighed. The whole thing was ridiculous.

Taylor

"GET OFF ME!" Taylor yelled, throwing Tad back.

"Just leave me the f*** alone, alright?! Don't think you f***ing know me!"

Isaac

"And I don't care to know you," Tad snarled. "In case you've forgotten after your little phone call to Tanya not so long ago, I'm supposed to be keeping an eye on you. I can't do that if you run away."

Isaac decided to stay out of it. Given the tension in the house lately, this was probably inevitable.

Taylor

Taylor seethed on the spot for a moment just staring into Tad's eyes, before putting his hands on his head and closing his eyes and letting out what you could only call a scream of frustration in sonics.

Isaac

"Oww!" Tad yelped, as the sonic level Taylor was screaming at happened to be at a frequency that was painful to human ears. "Stop that!"

He used his power to temporarily disrupt Taylor's.

"Uh oh..." Isaac said, having a pretty good idea of what just cut off Taylor's scream.

This was not going to be pretty.

Taylor

Taylor's eyes opened as he became silent. He stood with his hands on his head for a moment, before lowering them and looking up at the trees.

He squinted slightly as the sun hit his eyes.

Isaac

"Tay? Are you okay?" Isaac asked.

"He's perfectly fine. And thank goodness that infernal screaming has stopped," Tad glared at Taylor. "Don't you ever do that again."

"I don't think that disrupting Tongue was a good idea. It's not like Telekinesis - Tongue, as I understand it, is rather allconsuming..."

Taylor

Taylor stumbled slightly as Tongue slowly began to come back.

He looked confused for a moment, before looking around at where he was and then up at Isaac and Tad.

"Where are we?" he asked nervously.

Isaac

"We're in the park," Isaac said. "Tay? You okay?"

Tad folded his arms across his chest, with a very unimpressed expression on his face.

Taylor

Taylor blinked rapidly for a moment until the ache in his eyes from looking into the sun went away.

"I guess so..."

He glanced at Tad and ran his fingers through his hair.

"So ah... what, are we doing here?"

Isaac

"We were getting some air. Y'know, we've been cooped up at home for ages," Isaac said determindly.

Tad looked like he was going to protest, and scrowled when Isaac gave him a look.

"After all, it gets a bit much in that little apartment."

Taylor

Taylor nodded.

"True," he replied nervously, folding his arms across his chest.

"So... are we doing something? Are we going to do something?"

Isaac

"Well, we just arrived. Hadn't gotten that far yet," Isaac nodded. "Suggestions?"

His eyes trailed across the park, and he took a deep breath of the fresh air.

Tad decided to go sit down. Looks like they were hanging around.
