Sabretooth, Victory & Magneto

Sabretooth was purring.

No one in the Brotherhood was insane or suicidal enough to comment. Victory lay curled up against the psychotic killer's chest, a tiny little girl almost lost in the furs that he wore. Furs from animals he'd hunted down and killed himself with his bare hands.

Clawed fingers that had ripped apart people by the hundreds ran gently through the superfine silk of golden blonde hair. Victory's small purr was lost in the deep rumble that ran through her father's chest, a low steady sound of contentment.

It wasn't something that happened often. Sabretooth being content. But it happened a lot more with his daughter around. She calmed down the animal inside him and made it easier to live without the constant need to see something bleed. Not even Birdie had calmed him down this much, and she'd given him the telepathic glow that had made him closer to human for a while. When she'd died...well.

It let him get back to the beast, red in tooth and claw.

Magneto had found him and recruited him. Paid well too. As long as he paid well enough, the assassin would stay. And the babysititng services were better then he could do on his own as well. Security was a top priority of Magneto's, and Sabretooth could leave Victory in the base and feel safe about doing so.

One amber eye was revealed as a soft knock sounded at the door.

"This better be good," Sabretooth rumbled, still petting Victory.

Magneto entered, cape moving behind him to give him an air of menace. Not that it scared Sabretooth. It took a hell of a lot more to do that.

"I need you to fetch something for me."

"Oh yeah?"

Magneto smiled.

"Someone we had here once...Pyro."

"That damn idiot? Why?"

"I have my reasons. You just need to fetch him in."

"Fine. When?"

"Tomorrow is soon enough."

"Alright."

Sabretooth's eye closed once more in dismissal and Magneto left the pride of one Alpha male and his cub to their peaceful relaxation.
