Well once upon a time grooms used to kidnap brides from other towns when there wasn't any available in their own

And of course, it was a two-man job, so they always had their `best man' come along

And sometimes when the kidnapping was stage (the bride in on it) she'd have some attend her

And the reason why the groomsmen dress like the groom and the bridesmaids dress like the bride is to confused jealous suitors and evil spirits.

The reason why the bride is on the left during the ceremony is incase her family tries to kidnap her back

Well… in Biblical times the colour of the wedding dress was actually blue

The white wedding dress was just a fashion statement by a couple of queens.

I'm not sure who I'd ask if I felt like continuing the tradition, but I don't, so it's not an issue
