Talks of Big Brother

"You want to do what?!" Beanie half screeched, half yelled.

"You can't do that! It'll get canned for sure! We'll get fired! I won't only be fired, but I might be hung. And after they hang me, they might set my body on fire, and cut me up into little charcoaled bits."

"Well, that's a little dramatic. Why can't we do it? There's a special alien division of entertainment. And I'm sure I could set one up for the mutants too. Me and Jimmy have been thinking about it for awhile now," Sam replied.

"The big guns will never go for it. It's too risky. It might sink the company. We don't have any guarantee that aliens and mutants will even watch it. And because we can't market this for the humans, then this could end the company. We can't pour millions of dollars into a project that we're not even sure will work," Beanie said, sounding a little more reasonable this time.

"So we'll do a survey of all the otherworldly Americans," Sam answered, shrugging slightly as if it were no big deal.

"Come on, for years you and I have been talking about expanding our vision, about how the stranger creatures in this world never get a show especially for them. I'm giving them a chance to be seen now, to participate, to be able to watch others of their kind and love them, hate them, whatever. This is our chance to prove we can do something."

Beanie sighed.

"We can't air it on this network. We'll have to make a new network."

"Done," Sam said.

"Rina and I have been working on it, for about a year now. It's a sub network of this one. We're ready to take a show on. Even if it's just this show. Greg, you know that this is a good opportunity for us. If this show is a success, think of how many more shows we can do! Think of the extra money it'll mean for this network. Come on, talk to the big guys. The worst they can do is say no, right?"

Beanie shook his head and rubbed his temples.

"If you right up the appropriate documentation, I'll see what I can do."
