Visiting Genovia

Written by Michelle and Joy

Mia

Mia watched in anticipation as Tina's familiy's private plane set on the ground. She was very exciting.

"I'm so excited!" she said to her nearby staff.

Lars chuckled to himself.

The fact that it was a long boring wait before the landing proceedures and so on and so forth was finished did nothing to take the edge off Princess Mia's excitement.

Tina

Tina waited for the steps to be lowered and ran off the plan to Mia, hugging her friend tightly.

"I missed you so much!"

Mia

Mia hugged her back.

"Missed you too!" she said.

Keeping one arm around her, she lead her to the limo.

"Come! We'll let the sevants get your things," she said in a mock-posh tone.

Tina

"Oh, that's what we paythem for," Tina replied in the same tone "Biscotti?" she offered her friend.

Mia

"Oooh, yes please," Mia replied.

The chaffeaur opened up the door to let the girls in.

"This limo is much cooler than the one I had in New York," Mia said after scooting inside. "Why? 'Tis electric."

Tina

"Oh, this is so much nicer than Daddy's. I'm gonna have to bug him about getting one that isn't bad for the environment. I have to check out boarding schools while I'm here, before Daddy makes the final decision on where to send me for my last year of school.Xavier's is too high-profile, but he wants me to be somewhere safe." Tina said, crunching on her biscotti. "But I don't have ti di that right now. I think we should have a movie marathon, starting with that movie about leprechauns & fairies with the guy from that Star Trek show." Tina suggested.

Mia

"The Magical Legend of the Leprecons?" Mia asked. "Oooh good idea."

It wasn't long thereafter before the unmistakable shape of the Royal Palace came into view.

"There she is," Mia said, pointing.

Tina

"Here's my question," Tina asked. "Why is is places and modes oftransportation are always referred to as she? I mean, English has gender-neutral nouns, so why do we always use she? It's a little demeaning toward women," Tina said, nodding.

Mia

"I don't think it's demeaning," Mia frowned. "I mean, I see your point - we don't have to refer to things as she's, but y'know... Maybe it dates back to wars and stuff where ship compliments and army battalions and stuff were mostly men. Kinda evening out the sexes. I mean, guys love their ships and stuff right? They describe them as beautiful so they're not going to want to refer to them as 'he's now, are they? Whereas women can always describe other women as being beautiful without people thinking they're going the other way. Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with that, but current social attitudes are only relatively recent."

Tina

Tina thought that over for a minute. "I think I know what you're saying. Anyways, I think we should do some shopping therapy this week," Tina said, nodding.

Mia

"Yeah, why not?" Mia grinned. "Shopping is good. Shopping is much better now than it was a few years ago, not that I no longer need a padded bra to hold up certain off-the-shoulder dresses I could mention."

The limo paused at the castle gates.

"Here we are!"

Tina

Tina grinned. "It's so AWSEOME! Seriously, I've been waiting to come visit you for ages now. This is so cool. I am so looking forward to moving here."

Mia

Mia grinned and got out of the limo.

"I'm so glad you're here too," she said. "C'mon, you're going to love the room I picked out for you."

Not bothering to wait for the servants to geting Tina's gear out, she grabbed her friend's hand and started to lead her to the room.

Tina

Tina let Mia pull her through the palace, giggling all the way.

Mia

Mia stopped outside of Tina's door. She let go of her hand and flung open the doors.

"Ta da!"

She let Tina go in first.

Tina

"EEEEEE! I love it!" she squealed, giggling. "Look, it's me!" she said, pointing to a cupid. "This room totally rocks!" She bounced around happily, all thoughts of her recent heartbreak flying out the proverbial window.

Mia

Mia laughed, following her friend in.

"See?" she giggled. "I knew you'd love it. It's so you."

Tina

"I do love it. DO you wanna go watch the movie?" TIna asked.

Mia

"Sure," Mia replied.

She make herself comfy on Tina's bed and picked up the remote on the bedside table. She pressed a button and a TV came sliding down from the ceiling.

"Voila," she grinned, handing her the remote.

Tina

"That is so cool," Tina said. "Where shall we find the DVD?"

Mia

Mia pressed another button and the DVD, video and stereo slipped out of a nearby wall.

"Unfortunately, you actually have to get out of bed to get the DVD and put it in," Mia said. "But oh well."

Tina

Tina slipped off the bed and picked out the DVD, popping it in.

"I love this movie, plus, Keiran Culkin is such a cutie in it."

Ending as written by Michelle

And so the girls settled down to watch the movie... and then a few more after that. In fact, they spend all day (and part of the night too) watching movies. Except for, inbetween a couple of movies, when they asked the maids to do a little song and dance for them (such talented girls!).
