Broken Hearted

Written by Joy and Michelle

Tina

"I'm sorry, Tina, I just don't think we should see each other anymore."

Tina looked at the phone, giant crododile tears streaming down her cheeks. SHe dried Libby and Shameeka, but neither was home, and Libby must have turned her mobile off. So hesitated before calling MIa. Well, it was an emergency. With shaking fingers, she dialed Mia's mobile number.

Mia

Mia attempted to hide the guilty expression on her face from her tutor who was giving her an impressed look. Mia pulled out her phone and answered it.

"Hi Tina," she said cheerfully, avoiding any further eye contact with her tutor.

Well, being the Queen had to come with some privlages, right?

Tina

Tina tried to talk between her sobs.

"h---he-----b-broke----up---with---me!"

Mia

"Awww," Mia sympathised, wishing she could be there to give her friend a hug. "Aww, Tina..."

Her mind raced for more to say.

Tina

"He----he said I'm not what he wants in a girlfriend!" Tina wailed, wishing she could teleport to Genovia right then and there.

Mia

"Aww, Tina," Mia found herself saying again. "Don't worry, I'm sure that there'll be someone out there who thinks you're exactly what he wants in a girlfriend."

Tina

"It's because I'm fat, isn't it! Fat and ugly!" Tina sobbed. She should have known that Dave wouldn't be attracted to her. She definitely wasn't the model her mother once was.

Mia

"No, of course it's not," Mia said soothingly. "For one thing... you're not ugly. And for another thing..."

Well, Mia couldn't really deny that Tina was fat... it was one of those slightly unavoidable things.

"He should be glad that there's so much of you," she went on detemindly. "Why, there's so much more of you to love!"

Tina

"I hate him," Tina said firmly. "I hate boys. They all SUCK!"

Mia

"Ahh, if only you were here in Genovia, right now," Mia said. "We could have an 'I hate boys' fest and watch chick flicks."

Tina

"I wish I there too," Tina said, sighing "Wait a sec." Tina covered the phone and went to beg her dad.

"DAddy, Dave broke up with me because he doesn't like me and I'm fat and ugly and you don't have any business trips this week, and my best friend lives in Europe and Lilly's not home and Shameeka's grounded, so can I please please please borrow the jet to go to Genovia?" Mr. Hakim-Baba look shocked that his daughter managed to say all of that without taking a single breath. He thought for a minute.

"Have you finished all of the books on your summer reading list?"

"Yes. Well, I have one more, but I'm half through it."

"Alright, you may go and visit Mia for the week if you promise to finish the book on the plane, and get all of your school supplies while you're there."

"Oh thank you thank you thank you!" Tina said, hugging the short, fat, Saudi Arabian oil sheik. Tina picked the phone up again.

"Daddy says I can take the jet to come stay with you for the week!"

Mia

"Great!" Mia grinned. "This is gonna be so cool! And you won't believe the palace. It's amazing. Okay, I know I've sent you pictures, but seriously, they don't do it justice. Ooooooh, and I know exactly which room you should have while you're here. Believe me, you'll love it."

Her eyes lit up, thinking about the red room with the cupids decor.

Tina

"Daddy's setting it up right now, I'll be there by morning, but we're gonna stop in Italy first for biscotti," Tina nodded, and then realized that Misa couldn't see her over the phone. "I need chocolate."

Mia

"Cool," Mia replied. "Chocolate is good. Oh, by the way, I took your advice and I harrassed my chief advisor. He's about the only one with even a smidgen of immunity to my power - he's a mutant too, you see, and his power is Discerning. Anyway, it turns out that someone somewhere along the lines got it into their head that I was college age or something. And, well, my power being what it is, used their own thoughts against them, and did nothing to let them see that I was really only 16 at the time. By the time everyong figured out that I was really under 18, it was too late, and no one's been willing to admit the mistake."

She giggled a little.

Tina

Tina giggled a little bit, still upset with her jerk of a boyfiend. "I'm gonna go pack, Mia, I'll see you later."

Mia

"Okay," Mia said cheerfully. "See you soon."

They hung up and she called for her maids. Mia instructed them that the room needed to be cleaned up and otherwise ready for Tina (if it wasn't already, knowing how fussy certain housekeeping staff were about keeping the castle clean and tidy).
