Dawn and Clark had finally started inviting people over to their house in Scarsdale. It was a Wednesday afternoon in the middle of summer holidays, so they decided to throw a party. They had beer kegs, Kero, snacks, music, and were getting all set up when the doorbell rang and people started showing up.
"Let's get this party started!" Mikey said, throwing back a bottle of absinthe and turning up the radio.
Constantine and Micah
Constantine and Micah arrived at the party.
"Dude, this is so cool," Micah said, this black eyes looking around the room.
"Very," Constantine agreed.
Bobby
Bobby came in, arms around Julie.
"We can always find a room if we get too bored."
Julie
"This is true, yes," Julie nodded.
She looked around.
"Hmm... kero... guess there's some aliens here."
Ophelia, Kitty and Jessica
Ophelia bounced over to her boyfriend, a glass of salt-water in her hand, and set her head on his shoulder. She kissed his cheek.
"Hey Con, hey Micah, what's up?"
~*~*~*~
Kitty looked around the party approvingly. She couldn't believe that there was only a month and a half before she started University. Craziness. She decided to let lose a little, and maybe have a drink or two. Jessi on the other hand was definitely enjoying her kero.
Constantine and Micah
"Not much," Micah replied, snagging a drink.
Constantine returned Ophelia's kiss.
"Hey beautiful," he said softly.
Ophelia and Jessica
"HEy, Feelie, gonna introduce me to your friend?" Jessi asked, munching on a cupcake.
"Oh, sure. Micah, this is JEssi, Jessi, Micah."
"Groovy. I'd offer you a cupcake, but they don't sit very well with humans, or mutants."
Constantine and Micah
"Thanks anyway," Micah grinned.
Constanine wrapped his arms around Ophelia and rested his head on her shoulder.
Bobby
"Mmmmmmm, and some... mutants... and aliens..."
Bobby paused.
"I really don't know where I was heading with that statement."
Julie
Julie grinned.
"You were making pointless obvervations hopefully to some sort of suggestive end which would magically appear when you were finished?" she suggested.
Ophelia and Jessica
"Whatcha drinking?" COnstantine asked Ophelia, smelling the edge of her glass.
"Just salt water now. If II do drink later, I don't want to get dehydrated."
"Doesn't salt make you dehydrated?" Jessi asked.
"Not if you were desigend to live in the ocean, like I was," Ophelia said, winking.
Micah
"Well, there is that," Micah grinned.
He drank some of his drink and then wrapped an arm around Jess's shoulders.
"And how are you this evening?"
Bobby
"Yes, that does sound like me."
Bobby let his hand rest on Julie's butt.
"Should we go say hello to those we call our friends?"
Julie
"Why not?" Julie asked, sauntering over. "Greetings oh ones we call friends."
"I'd rather you'd call me Micah," Micah replied facesiously.
Bobby
"Hello Micah. I don't believe I know you."
Bobby grabbed a drink.
"Hello all."
Jessica and Ohpelia
Jess took Micah's arm and removed it from her shoulder. "I'm not that wasted yet," she said, winking. She saw Micah look a little disapointed. "It's seriously not you, I'm just not a major fan of being touched." Ophelia smiled sadly at Jess. Some of the girls at the mansion knew why Jess didn't like being touched, but it wasn't really common knowledge to most of the students.
"Mmmm, you taste good," Ophelia said, licking Constantine's cheek.
Julie
Micah shrugged.
"Do I have permission to get you that wasted?"
"Leave her alone," Julie said.
"Just joking!" he said defensively.
"Just checking!" she replied in the same tone.
Jessica, Rachel, Rosalind and Ophelia
"Just leaving," Jessi mimicked, going outside for some fresh air. She saw a pack of cigarettes Laying on the picnic table, and grabbed one, not caring that she hadn't had a smoke in almost 2 months.
"Hey sweetie, you okay?" Rach asked, climbing up onto the table next to her best friend.
"Yeah, just had a tic of a flashback. I'll be okay soon." Jessi said, inhaling deeply through the filter. Rachel gently rubbed soothing circles into the other girl's back.
"What happened?"
"I shouldn't have freaked out like that," Jessi admitted. "It's just there was this guy, and I really liked him, but then he put his arm around my shoulders, and with his black eyes he just looked so threatening, and I guess, I just got scared for a minute. It was like I was back in that hall closet again." Rachel hugged JEssi tightly.
"I will never, EVER let anybody hurt you again. I promise. Battle-ready warrior at your service," Rachel said, doing a little bow, which caused Jessi to giggle. "YOu want to go back into the party yet?"
"Yeah, I wanna dance," Jessi said, flicking away the cigaratte butt. So the Dreamwalker and the Animorph headed back into the rockin' party to do a lot of dancing.
~*~*~*~
"They have the right idea," Rozzie said, pointing to the dancing girls. She pulled Becky out on the dancefloor.
"Ooooh, fun!" Ophelia said, her eyes glittering. "Let's dance!"
Julie
"Okay," Constantine said agreeablely.
He took Ophelia's hand and led her out onto the floor.
"Hmm... so... where's the food?" Julie said.
"Over there," Micah pointed.
"Thanks."
Ophelia, Jessica and Rachel
A slow song came on and Ophelia laid her head on Constantine's chest, since he was significantly taller than she was. Jessi and Rachel were goofing off and pretending to waltz, but couldn't decide who should lead. Jessi laid her head on her best friend's shoulder, unaware that Micah was watching, confused.
Julie
Julie, however, did notice Micah's confusion.
"Something amiss?" she asked, eating a handful of chips.
"What's her problem?" he asked, nodded in Jessica's direction.
"Oh, she just doesn't like guys touching her."
"Ohhh... lesbian?"
"Huh? Oh no. At least, I don't think so," Julie replied, considering a moment. "Bad history, that's all."
Bobby
Bobby wrapped his arm around Julie's waist.
"Lesbians can be hot, but Julie's better."
Dawn
Dawn bounced over, overhearing the conversation. Grabbing a brownie, shelloked at Micah.
"In order to be a lesbian, you have to be into girls, Jess isn't really into anybody. She's straight, but if you want to get Jessi Hanson, you have to be sweet. Woo her," Dawn said, nodding. "Or wait until she's really drunk and then ask her out."
Julie
"That's so sad... not to be into anybody," Julie said. "And thank you, Bobby."
"Woo her? Get her drunk?" Micah said.
"She's into kero," Julie said helpfully.
"Yeah... I think... you two are just great friends, you know that, don't you? Advising me to get her drunk if I want to go out with her."
Dawn
"Well, not so drunk that she's falling all over the place and won't remember it the next day, but if she's more relaxed, her defenses are down, and she's more likely to say yes. I'm not suggesting you take advantage of her," Dawn said, getting all growly. "In fact, if you did, I'd have your testicles for earrings." Dawn, poured herself a 7 & 7.
Micah
Micah held up his free hand in a gesture of defence.
"Hey, I never said I would do such a thing. You're the one who brought up drinking."
Bobby
Bobby kissed Julie's neck.
"I'm bored. Where are the fun people?"
Julie
"Hmm, I dunno," Julie said.
She looked around the room.
"Where are all the fun people? Oh... I know..."
She pointed one finger at Bobby, then one at herself, her eyes twinkling with mischeif.
