The Adventures of Rogue: Departing New York

Written by Michelle

Rogue and Gambit

"Rogue?"

"Yes, Remy?"

"I know yo' were plannin' on just usin' da train and stuff but I... I thought... I thought I might get yo' something a little more useful."

Rogue gave him a curious look, and followed him into the garage. Her eyes widened at the sight of a brand new little red sports car.

"You... you didn't..." she gasped.

Gambit smiled.

"She's all yours."

Rogue walked around the car.

"Oh Remy! This is... Ah don't... Ah... it's wondahful!"

Gambit grinned.

"Yo're welcome," he said.

Rogue ran over, wrapped her arms around him tight, and kissed him. She had been living at his place for the past week or so, since she had left the mansion. Well, it sure beat sneaking out all the time (not that it was really sneaking out, as Rogue was fairly certain that both Logan and Professor Xavier knew exactly what she had been doing, not to mention her roommate, Kitty). In either case, the move was really only temporary as she was about to set off on her year travelling around the world.

"And also... phone," Gambit said, giving her a new mobile phone once they had pulled apart. "The bills will come to me, so you don't have to worry about paying for anything."

"That's not neccesary, Remy, I can -"

"Now, now, Cherie," Gambit shook his head. "I've been on da road for years and I kno' ho' hard it is to keep the bills paid. Besides, this way I can be sure yo'll come back to me when yo're done."

Rogue giggled.

"Ah'll always come back to you. No fear of that."

"Good."

They kissed again, and Gambit loaded Rogue's things into the car - she had been planning on leaving that day.

"Have a good trip."

"Ah will."

"Call often."

"Certainly."

"Love yo'."

"Love you too."

And Rogue got into the car, and left.
