I felt you breathe

Written by Nessa

Willow, Gunn, Faith and Angel

Willow lit the last candle, setting it down in the circle. She looked up and smiled at Piper, Phoebe and Paige.

"Ready?" Willow asked.

"You can back out, you know," Gunn said.

Faith shrugged.

"Nah, let's do it. Send me in, baby."

Willow looked uncertain.

"Faith, you know this is gonna be... time passes differently. Angel would have been in that dimension for longer than a month. He..."

"What she's trying to say is that Wolfram and Hart made sure he went to their holding dimension. One of them. And they may have altered him a bit," Gunn explained.

Faith shrugged again.

"I don't care, guys. Just do it."

Willow nodded and closed her eyes. She opened them again to reveal they had turned black.

She chanted a few words in Latin, hands outstretched as she focused.

Faith felt her body jolt as she was transported to Wolfram and Hart's holding dimension.

She found herself standing face to face with Angel.

"Faith," he said, looking surprised.

"Angel!"

Faith hugged Angel tightly, laughing happily.

"It worked! Man. How are ya?"

"How did you - "

"Ah, Willow did the magic thing, and here I am."

"Oh."

Angel was silent, then he smiled.

"Come on, feel like a spar?"

Faith and Angel

Angel led Faith into his kitchen and she perched on a stool.

"So, what's it like?" Faith asked, looking around.

"Different," Angel said slowly.

He reached into his fridge and grabbed a bottle of water, then tossed it to Faith, before getting one for himself.

"Come on."

Faith followed Angel into the living room, where they lazily sat down on the lounge.

"Did you come to bust me out?"

"I don't even know if I can. I just came to stay. If they don't let you out, then I'm not going either," Faith said.

"But Willow will find a way. She's handy that way."

Angel shook his head and pulled her in for another hug.

"You shouldn't've done it, Faith."

Faith smiled and shrugged, playing with the button on Angel's shirt.

"Maybe."

She paused, and then looked up at him.

"I can hear... are you..."

Angel nodded.

"Human."

Faith and Angel

"This is massive, how did it happen?" Faith asked, sitting up and curling her legs under her.

Angel shrugged.

"Not sure. I got here and I was alive. Really alive."

Faith smiled.

"I don't know whether to be happy or not... I mean, you're alive, but you're technically dead... this is confusing."

"It is a, I agree. But, I figured, while I was here..."

"Why not kick back and enjoy it."

She paused.

"But we sparred and you seemed normal."

"Strength hasn't changed. Just... you know, the heartbeat and the breathing."

"Yeah, I felt that."

Angel grinned.

"Thought you might. But aside from me being alive, what else could be considered news?"

"I'm pregnant, I quit the Watcher's Council and... I had a hair cut."

Faith nodded.

"Pretty much it."

Angel laughed.

"Congratulations."
