Armelle and Rebekah
Armelle paid the cab driver and pulled her bag from the backseat.
"Merci monsieur," she said softly.
She closed the door and looked up at the apartment building. Taking a deep breath, she walked up the front steps and buzzed Rebekah and Jono's apartment.
"Yes?" Rebekah said.
"C'est Armelle. Est-ce que je peux monter?" Armelle asked nervously. (It's Armelle. Can I come up?)
"Oui, naturellement," Rebekah replied. (Of course.)
Moments later, the door buzzed and Armelle opened it. She opted to walk the stairs rather than take the lift and did just that, arriving at her sisters apartment in a few minutes.
She raised her hand and hesitantly knocked.
Rebekah clipped her hair back from her face, then went to open the door.
"Armelle, come in."
Armelle smiled slightly and walked in.
"J'espère que le vol était bien." (I hope the flight was ok)
"Oui," Armelle replied, nodding.
"Merci pour me laisser rester." (Thank you for letting me stay)
"Je pense toujours qu'il vaudrait mieux de rester au manoir, mais vous pouvez rester ici pour le moment," Rebekah said. (I still think it would be better to stay at the mansion, but you can stay here for the moment)
"'Ave you spoken to Jonothon?"
"Non, I 'ave not yet 'ad the chance. Since being back I 'ave been doing press releases. I will in a moment. Your room is down the 'all."
Armelle nodded and went to sleep off the jetlag.
Rebekah sighed and went to see Jono.
Jonothon
Jonothon tapped his pencil against his notepad, 'hearing' the new prescence enter the apartment. Wondering slightly, he waited for Rebekah to come and tell him what was going on.
"What's up, luvvie?" Jonothon asked as she entered.
Rebekah
"My sister just arrived," Rebekah said, accent thicker than usual.
"She just found out she was a mutant, so I said she could stay here for awhile. Is that ok with you?"
JOnothon
"Out of yer family, I could stand yer, yer sister and yer grandmum. Sure she can stay," Jonothon said, then turned his eyes back to his notes distractedly.
"No, that isn't working..."
Rebekah
Rebekah peered over Jono's shoulder.
"Raise it up a half chord, then lower that part there," Rebekah said.
She kissed Jono's forehead.
"I am going to take her to Xavier's tomorrow, just to get used to it. And I have a check up with Dr McCoy."
She sighed and shook her head, then sat down in an armchair, running a hand through her hair.
Jonothon
Jonothon made the corrections she suggested, nodding his head.
"Much better...so, yer won't be home for most of tomorrow?"
Rebekah
"Non, I will probably go into the city after going to the mansion. Why? Will you miss me?" Rebekah said teasingly.
She tied her hair loosely back.
Jonothon
"Nah, not at all," Jonothon lied.
"HAve a good time, luv."
Rebekah
"Gee, I feel loved."
Rebekah stood.
"I'm going to see if Armelle is hungry, then I'm going to call my parents."
Jonothon
"You'll just get upset," JOnothon predicted.
"Why talk ter 'em? They're assholes."
Rebekah
"Because they deserve to know what's going on," Rebekah said.
She sighed.
"I might get that over and done with now."
Jonothon
"They deserve shit," Jonothon said angrily.
"They don't have any rights ter know a bloody thing about either of yer!"
Rebekah
"Jono, please."
Rebekah shook her head and left the room.
She went into their bedroom and made the phone call.
Jonothon
"F*cking goddamn buggering bloody wanking tossers!" Jonothon swore.
He threw his pen at the wall hard to relieve his feelings and then leant back and spun in his chair.
Rebekah
Rebekah had a short phone call with her parents, then went in to see her sister.
She left a few seconds later and went to make something for Armelle to eat.
Jonothon
Jonothon came up behind Rebekah and kissed her neck, rubbing her shoulders. He didn't say anything.
Rebekah
"Hey."
Rebekah turned to look at him.
"I'm going to go into the city later and pick up some things, do you need anything?"
Jonothon
"Another notebook."
Jonothon played with her hair.
"YOu alright?"
Rebekah
Rebekah nodded.
"Yeah, I'm good," she said.
"Just tired."
Jonothon
"Luv yer, Bek."
Jonothon leant forward and kissed her gently.
Rebekah
"Love you too."
Rebekah kissed him back, then pulled away.
"So you want a notebook. Ok, I'll be back later."
Jonothon
"Alright..yer shouldn't fret yerself over them. They're not worth it...and yer not listening, are yer?" Jonothon sighed.
"The only good thing those two ever did in their lives was give birth to yer."
Rebekah
"Jono, I'm fine. Honestly."
Rebekah kissed Jono's forehead and grabbed her wallet.
"I'm good."
Jonothon
"Don't lie ter me."
Jonothon turned away, shoulders slumped slightly.
"See yer when yer get back, pet."
Rebekah
Rebekah looked at his back for a moment, then shook her head and left the apartment, jumping down the stairs two at a time.
She brushed the tears away as she got into the car.
Jonothon
Jonothon settled into his chair and spun around lazily, looking up at the ceiling.
Damn.
Rebekah
Rebekah returned to the apartment a few hours later, holding about twenty shopping bags and chatting on the phone.
She telekinetically opened the door and came into the apartment, going to the kitchen and unloading the bags.
"Jono, I'm home."
Jonothon
"Brill, luv."
Jonothon blinked his eyes as he looked up from the paper he'd been concentrating on.
Rebekah
Rebekah unpacked the stuff in the kitchen, then brought Jono's notebook in to him.
"I'm going back to Sydney next month for a few days. Rob and I are performing on Idol 2."
Jonothon
"Looking forward to it?" Jonothon inquired cautiously.
He took the notebook from her and placed it on top of a pile of similair notebooks, except that the others were filled.
Rebekah
"Yeah. It'll be fun, going back and not competing."
Rebekah shrugged.
"Then Levi and his brothers want to talk about doing a tour together."
Jonothon
"Wot do they all think about the baby?" JOnothon said to her suddenly.
"Seeing as how no one's turned up to say, make an honest woman of our Bek or we'll f*cking castrate ya, are they alright wiv it?"
Rebekah
"They don't care as long as I'm happy."
Rebekah shrugged.
"I was a single mother before, and no one judged me on that."
She paused.
"Do... do you not want this?"
Jonothon
"Don't ever, ever think that."
Jonothon enfolded her in his arms again.
"I love yer, Rebekah. I love yer because yer who yer are, and I love the baby in your belly as well. Never doubt that I love you."
Rebekah
Rebekah smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
"Sorry, I'm all with the craziness."
Jonothon
Jonothon rubbed his hand gently over her stomach.
"All preggers women go a little nuts. It's the hormones."
Rebekah
"Mmmm. And I kinda feel like fried chicken."
Rebekah furrowed her eyebrows.
Jonothon
"Diddums," Jonothon said.
"And I expect now you want me to go out and get some for you?"
Rebekah
"Non, home delivery and such."
Rebekah pulled out of Jono's arms.
"I'll go order it in a moment."
Jonothon
"That's right, you can get anything delivered in America."
Jonothon smiled.
Rebekah
Rebekah nodded and smiled.
"I'm going to make it an early night tonight, I think."
Jonothon
"Alright, see you in the morning, pet."
Jonothon kissed her cheek.
Rebekah
Rebekah nodded and went to do a few things before heading off to bed.
