Bobby
Bobby went down the hall to Julie's room and knocked on the door.
"Hey, J, you busy tonight?"
Julie
Julie opened up the door.
"Well," she said. "I was half thinking about setting Scott's room alight - while he was in it. but I think I can put that on hold."
She gave him an wink and held the door open so he could come in.
Bobby
Bobby laughed and walked into her room.
"Well, me being the best boyfriend in the world, I've booked us a suite at a hotel. Baby sitters are taken care of. Meg and Will are willing to look after the kids. And we have reservations for 7 at a restaurant. So, pack an overnight bag, get ready, and I'll pick ya up in 2 hours."
Julie
A smile crossed Julie's face.
"Aww," she said. "Aren't you sweet?"
She leant over and kissed him.
Bobby
"I try, lady love."
Bobby kissed her again, then pulled back.
"I'll see ya soon."
Julie
"Okay," Julie replied agreeably.
After Bobby left, Julie set about packing her bag and getting B'Elanna and Tom into Meg and Will's care.
Bobby
Bobby packed his bag and went to get showered and changed, then dumped the stuff in the car and went to collect Julie.
His hand in his pocket played with the small box inside.
"Hey, Jules, you ready?"
Julie
Julie opened the door, bag slung over her shoulder.
"As always," she replied coyly.
She gave him a big grin.
Bobby
They arrived at the restaurant and were shown to their table. There was a large box on Julie's chair, and inside was one single long stemmed rose.
Julie
A smile crossed Julie's face as she saw the box.
"What have we here..." she asked as she opened it. "Aww!"
Julie beamed at Bobby, and kissed his cheek softly.
"Aren't you sweet?"
Bobby
"I would've said more salty," Bobby said, grinning.
"But you deserve it."
Julie
Julie chuckled.
"Aww shucks," she said.
The waitors soon arrived to take their orders.
Bobby
Soon they'd ordered and their meals had arrived and they were eating.
"So, do you reckon that oysters consider themselves attractive?"
Julie
"Hmm, possibly," Julie said. "I mean one generally find their own kind attractive."
She sipped her drink before taking another bite of her dinner.
Bobby
Bobby poked at his oyster, before eating it.
"I don't know. I mean I think we're attractive, but if we were oysters, I wouldn't think so."
Julie
"You can't picture me as an attractive oyster?" Julie inquired teasingly. "Hmm, well, I can't picture you as an oyster at all, so I guess we're even. Kinda. Whatever."
She ate some more of her dinner.
Bobby
"Well you, yes."
Bobby laughed.
"I don't know."
Julie
Julie grinned.
"By the way, have you noticed we've been discussing the attractiveness of oysters?"
She raised an eyebrow, and giggled.
Bobby
"Why yes."
Bobby chuckled.
"It's a fascinating topic."
Julie
"Personally, I think lobsters are a far more attractive shellfish than oysters," Julie grinned. "For one thing, they're red. And red is a very sexy colour."
Julie washed down her last mouthful with her drink.
Bobby
They debated about the attractiveness of seafood through dessert, then Bobby paid and led Julie out to the street and car, where he drove them to the hotel, got their key and took her to the room.
The room was covered in scattered rose petals, with soft candle light, and a bottle of champagne chilling by the table.
Julie
Julie looked around the hotel room, a breath caught in her throat.
"Well!" she breathed. "You're in a romantic mood today, aren't you?"
She smiled at Bobby and kissed him softly.
Bobby
Bobby chuckled and kissed her back.
"Always, for you."
He led her over to the bed and sat her down on it, then knelt in front of her.
"Julie... since when I met you, I know that I've loved you in some way. And I've seen a few times that I've nearly lost you, and it cuts me up inside. I don't want to lose you, because I love you so much, and I don't think I could live without you."
He pulled a small red box out of his pocket, opened it and revealed a silver ring with a small diamond in the middle.
"Will you marry me?"
Julie
Julie stared at Bobby.
"I... I... what... how... when... I..." she stammered.
Well, this was the last thing she expected!
Bobby
Bobby gave a small smile.
"If you say no, we will proceed right to the sex, I assure you. Well, if you say yes we'll proceed to that too, I guess..."
Julie
"Right so, either way it's win-win?" Julie replied nervously.
Then she laughed, almost hysterically.
"Oh man... I never... I mean... I... I... Bobby, I... Marriage? Are you - Yes. Yes I'll marry you."
Bobby
"Are you sure? You don't want to say no? I assure you, I won't be offended."
Bobby smiled.
"Actually, I will be, but to punish you, I will simply give you bad sex."
He kissed her hand.
Julie
Julie giggled nervously.
"No, I do," she said. "I just... never expected you to ask me."
She stroked his cheek softly.
Bobby
Bobby kissed her forehead.
"Ah, well, I'm a man of mystery."
Julie
"Indeed you are," Julie readily agreed. "By the way, I hope that's non-alcoholic champagne."
She patted her fattening stomach.
Bobby
Bobby grinned.
"Of course, what do you take me for?"
He kissed her cheek.
Julie
"Just checking," Julie replied.
She kissed him back.
"Oh my gosh... we're getting married!"
Bobby
Bobby chuckled.
"I didn't think you'd say yes, but I'm hell happy you did."
Julie
Julie grinned.
"I'm always happy to make you happy," she said.
Bobby
So Bobby and Julie did the hibbity dibbity to celebrate.
No surprises there, right?
