Blakesley & Apollo
Blakesley hummed slightly as he gave the orders for one of the genesplicing experiments to be removed from its cage and placed instead in a chute that led into one of the 'interaction' rooms. Then he gave orders for Taylor and Christian to be fetched. Taylor, because he would be the focus of the experiment, and Christian because Blakesley wanted to see his reaction.
Apollo walked into the pretend mental institution part of the base, and shot Taylor in the neck with a sedative dart before he could react. As the alien went limp, Apollo bent to pick him up. Three sets of eyes watched him leave.
"This be bad for the dawg, yo."
"We did try to warn him."
"It'snotourfault."
Apollo placed Taylor carefully on the floor of the interaction room, then placed a collar around his neck. It was unactivated as yet, except for the atom manipulation blocking part of it. He could still use Tongue, but other then that, his powers were locked away.
The avatar then went and fetched Christian, settling the other alien in a viewing room with no explaination. N999 blinked curiously at Christian, before going to the window and pressing a button to open the shutters over it.
"I wonder what will happen today...oh, he's got the weak one down there. Now, he can't fight at all...it will be no sport to watch a 'nomaly eat him," she observed coldly.
Blakesley waited for Taylor's sedative to wear off.
Christian & Taylor
Christian raised an eyebrow at N999 and folded his arms.
"Well old Kaleb knows if anything happens to him he won't be getting anything out of me," he said stubbornly, watching as Taylor's fingers twitched.
Taylor groaned slightly as he managed to force his eyes open and look up. Though his vision was slightly blurred, he managed to tell that he was in a plain room * like at the laboratories again.
He tried to push himself up onto his hands and knees, then let out another groan as he fell onto his side again.
He could feel the collar around his neck as he closed his eyes again.
Blakesley
"Taylor? Taylor, I wish you to listen to me carefully," Blakesley said into a speaker, and his voice echoed into the chamber.
N999's eyes closed briefly as she quested out for what may be going in there with Taylor. Her eyes widened as she opened them, coming in contact with the raw animal fury contained nearby, underlaid with cunning human intelligence.
"He's going to use one of *those* 'nomalies. Oh...dear."
"I am about to release one of...genejobs into the room with you," the scientist continued.
"Try and pacify it before you get too damaged, won't you?"
Christian & Taylor
Christian pouted slightly, keeping his eyes on him.
Taylor's eyes shot open as he heard Blakesley's voice, and his fingers started quivering again.
He looked up at one of the speakers, before forcing himself to sit up.
"W-what?" he stuttered, looking around.
Blakesley
"In a moment, I'm going to remove your ability to communicate," Blakesey said patiently.
"And then I'm going to release one of more failed experiments into the room with you."
Christian & Taylor
Christian raised his eyebrows.
Taylor's eyes widened as he suddenly scrambled back to a near wall until his back hit it.
"NO!" he cried, desperately.
"Not again, not again, please, please, please* not again, not again*"
He shook his head and closed his eyes before covering his ears.
Blakesley
"I would suggest opening your eyes. That way, you can at least see it coming," Blakesley said, then depressed a button on his control panel.
A nightmare stalked into the room. Vaguely human, more animal, clawed fingers bit deep into the metal of the floors as it uneasily went through the open door. Something like a big cat, something like an overlarge wolf, something like a human and yet none of the above and a terrifyingingly wrong mix of all. Thin lips curled back from razor sharp fangs and a low hiss bubbled out of its throat as insane amber eyes fixed on Taylor.
N999 shrank back almost impercitably from the beast, then her fingers tightened on the rests of her chair as she closed her eyes and swooped in to keep everything from getting out of control. A maelstrom of emotion fought her every light touch, throwing her off time and time again but she kept the beast from attacking Taylor outright.
"Good luck, Taylor," Blakesley said, and then turned off the alien's powers completely.
Christian & Taylor
Christian's eyes widened when he realized what Blakesley had done.
Taylor's hands fell from his ears as his eyes slid open, becoming completely oblivious to the word around him surprisingly quickly.
"BLAKESLEY!" Christian yelled, hitting the glass with the heel of his hands, "YOU CAN'T F**KING DO THAT!"
Taylor's eyes stared blankly around the room, as if there was nothing to see. He was seeing colours, but he didn't know that they were colours. He was seeing shapes, but he didn't know they were shapes*
His hands started shaking.
Blakesley
Blakesley leaned forward to watch, ignoring Christian's protestations.
N999's lips peeled back from her teeth in a mindless snarl as she grappled with the beast's consciousness. What there was of it.
Sniffing suspiciously, the thing prowled closer to Taylor and gave him a careful onceover, warm meaty breath ruffling his hair.
Christian & Taylor
"For f**k's sake," Christian fumed, turning his back to the window and running his fingers through his hair.
Taylor looked as if he was considering something as he felt the warm touches. He didn't know what it was, but it felt good.
He leant towards it slightly, almost like a newborn to their parent.
Blakesley
"Don't distract me," N999 murmured.
"Or I'll lose it. And he'll be very messily dead."
Blakesley steepled his fingers together as he watched.
The beast hesitated, huffing slightly as it struggled to understand why this thing didn't stink of fear scent. Still smelt like food though.
Christian & Taylor
Christian held his tongue as he turned to watch again.
Taylor just blinked slowly, wondering what was going on.
Blakesley
Blakesley watched as the beast backed up, growling uneasily at the complete lack of response it was garnering. N999 bit her lip and blood slowly trickled down her white face.
Christian & Taylor
Christian rubbed his chin for a second, mind ticking over.
"He's not gonna do anything," he said finally, hoping Blakesley heard.
"He doesn't know to do anything, so he won't."
This was before Taylor had leant too far, and eventually fell forward hitting his head on the floor. He let out a small exclamation, but didn't move.
Blakesley
The beast's head swivelled around and N999 let out a small pained cry. Her nose started to bleed slightly and her claws jutted out from her fingers, digging deep into the armrests of her chair.
Intent replaced confusion and the beast batted at Taylor with one paw, claws still sheathed.
Blakesley glanced towards the room where Christian and N999 were, letting his finger hover over the controls for the beast's chip. If this went much further...
Christian & Taylor
"For Christ's sake bring him back," Christian said under his breath, eyes darting between Taylor and the beast.
Taylor grunted a little as he fell onto his side and curled up in the foetal position.
Blakesley
"You will not," N999 hissed, mind grappling with the animal to hold it down, grabbing the human part and the animal part to make it obey.
The beast shook its head and roared.
"You will obey me."
Blakesley watched as the monster growled and roared again, throwing its head back to display yellowing fangs. But it wasn't attacking Taylor, so...
Christian & Taylor
"Bring him back," Christian repeated, starting to shake his head.
Taylor simply blinked as the beast roared, then let out a sound somewhat like a stubborn child to counter it.
Blakesley
Blakesley deliberated for a moment, then moved his finger to press down on the button that would allow Taylor to understand again.
The beast's voice soared upwards in denial.
Stop it stop it stop it get outGETOUT perfect one OUT OUT OUT let me look at it eat it hunt it what is it? Out of my head! Hurts pain loneliness ow stop ok won't staying away hate you hate you HATE YOU HATE EVERYTHING...
Taylor
Taylor blinked a few times before everything suddenly seemed to swirl back into reality.
He frowned slightly, trying to comprehend what happened, before finally seeing what was looming over him.
"Oh my*" his voice cut out as he darted out from under it and backed into a corner.
Blakesley
"Welcome back, Taylor," Blakesley said almost cheerfully.
Gonna rip and tear and bite and kill hate you hate you hate you let me out out out I want to get out hate you hate you all stupid ugly worthless monster I am and you're so perfect hate you hate you pretty pretties gonna rip and tear and make you not so pretty pretty...
The beast wailed.
Christian & Taylor
Taylor attempted to catch his breath as he tried to make sense of the beast's wailings.
Christian stepped forward to the glass for a moment and began to study it.
"Ok*" Taylor began softly in mix, tapping his fingers against the floor.
"Calm down, calm down, give me something to work with*"
Blakesley
Blakesley glanced to the camera in the cell with N999 and Christian. She seemed to be doing well, he noted, ignoring the blood running down her face. He looked back down to Taylor in mild curiousity.
HATE YOU HATE YOU HATE YOU HATE YOU ALL you hurt me hurt me hate me hate you back pain hurts so bad I want out out OUT get out of my head she's in my head I can't make her leave rip her pretty face to ribbons red on white hate her hate you hate hate hate...
Taylor
"Shh*" Taylor hushed, his fear beginning to be replaced by understanding.
He knelt forward slightly, trying to catch the beast's eyes.
"What hurts?" he asked softly in the beast's tongue, "where does it hurt?"
Blakesley
Blakesley leaned forward in interest as the beast flinched back, claws lengthening and mouth dropping open in a snarl.
Hurts hurts in my head she's in my head making me stop not kill you pretty soft thing want to hurt you maim you make you bleed because it hurts it all hurts and the metal in my head white coat die white coat DIE DIE DIE hate them hate her the plaything she does what they tell her and I never never will because I hate hate HATE...
Christian & Taylor
Christian watched on with a little confusion as Taylor inched closer.
"I don't want to hurt you, ok?" Taylor said softly, still in the beast's tongue but with a soothing voice.
"And I don't want them to hurt you."
He considered for a moment.
"I can help you."
Blakesley
Blakesley watched in interest as the beast seemed to be half way soothed.
You can't little toy little soft plaything prey creature everyone wants to hurt me but I hurt them back KILL want to kill you want want want OUT need to get out what is sun? sky? I was told once but it gets run together in my head and oh, I want to get OUT...
The beast made a sound almost like a whimper.
Taylor
Taylor frowned slightly, hurt by what this thing had been through.
"I can help you," he repeated softly, "if you trust me. I can make it all go away. So it won't hurt any more."
Keeping a careful eye on his body language, he inched even closer and reached out in a manner so that the beast knew it was nothing threatening.
Slowly but surely, Taylor began to rub behind its ears, knowing it would calm him even more.
Blakesley
Blakesley steepled his fingers as he waited for Taylor to get his hand bitten off.
The beast almost relaxed for a few moments, before moving off, growling uneasily.
Trust you not hurt me later hate fear pain whitecoats coming run hide could die want to LIVE despite pain hurt cold hunger fury out of my head get out of my head little white perfect cat out out out...
Taylor
Taylor frowned slightly, seeing the only way to get through to the beast would have be forcefully.
"You're not going to be living anywhere but here. This is all there is. All this talk of sky and sun is bullshit. Now I can only help you if you trust me. And I know that you can sense you can."
He sat back and waited for the best to make a decision.
Blakesley
The whine became a rumbling growl as the beast crouched in prepartion for a strike.
Liar liar liar liar liar liar...
N999 yelped and then fell to the ground, convulsing.
Blakesley watched as the beast hunched, then sprang, teeth bared. He slapped the pain chip control in front of him and the beast howled, bringing its paws up to scrape wildly at its head, rolling on the floor in pain.
PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN...
Taylor & Christian
Taylor's eyes darkened as one of his more common personality changes occurred.
He stood up and stepped around the beast slightly.
"Serves you right for attacking me when I was trying to f**king help you," he cursed in both the beast's language and English as he glared.
"And how could you call me a liar when you don't even know the truth? All you have to live off is lies. F**king lies."
Christian stepped closer to the window and studied Taylor's face for a moment.
Blakesley
Kill you, the beast warned, amidst whines.
F*cking kill you rip you to shreds eat you maim you kill you go away.
N999 got to her feet, shaking.
"It shouldn't be able to do that..."
Blakesley watched with interest, zooming the camera view in slightly.
Christian & Taylor
Christian once again looked the glass over, considering his options in case things went too far.
"And what exactly would be your reasoning?" Taylor glared down on it.
"Just because you can? Well guess what? You can't. If you could I'd probably be thankful. It'd certainly end my f**king misery in watching you suffer for no reason."
Blakesley
The beast hissed at him and backed off to further corner of the room. Well, do then. Die. I can eat you when you're dead.
Blakesley keyed in commands for soldiers to come and remove the beast and return it to its cell.
Taylor& Christian
Christian glanced at N999 before returning his gaze to Taylor.
"Sorry, but I can't just `drop dead'. For you, or anyone else," Taylor's eyes narrowed as he advanced toward it.
He knelt in front of it and tilted his head.
"But lend me a paw so I can use a claw* and that could help."
The Beast
It sat back on its haunches and regarded him.
What do you want from me?
Christian & Taylor
"Don't do it," Christian shook his head.
"Not much," Taylor chuckled softly, reading the beast's body language.
He stared at it for a moment.
"Just your life."
He suddenly shot forward, wrapped his elbow around the front of the beast's neck, and in a single jolt it was broken.
He dropped the body, before running his fingers down it's left arm, and revealing one of its claws.
Christian pursed his lips and squinted slightly.
"If someone doesn't get in there, he's going to kill himself," he said quietly, working on instinct.
Blakesley
Blakesley hit a button that would release a swift acting sleep gas into the room. Soon, the soft hiss filled the cell below.
"Blakesley won't let him do it," N999 said.
"He'll have a telekinetic watching too."
On cue, the fingers of Taylor's hand that were fixed around the claw curled back, and the lethally sharp object flew away across the room.
Christian & Taylor
"What the hell happened to him?" Christian frowned slightly, having never seen one of his original's personality changes before.
"F**K!" Taylor cursed, sitting back onto the floor with a thud.
He looked up at where the gas was entering the room, before beginning to feel it take effect.
"F**king assholes," he cursed under his breath, grabbing onto his forehead.
He fell onto his side, then onto his back as he went under.
Blakesley
"It was like there was a whole different person in his head," N999 mused.
"It must be an effect of the extreme trauma he has suffered. How interesting."
"Take Taylor back to his cell, and remove the body for dissection," Blakesley ordered as some soldiers entered.
The green suited figures set about doing what they were told.
"I want him restrained in a full body restraint, hooded, earplugged and gagged."
Christian
Christian almost snorted.
"Well that's not gonna help."
He hesitated, then looked up at N999 again.
"Have you seen that happen to him before?"
N999
"No, but isn't it fascinating?" N999 said, peering down into the cell as the soldiers dragged Taylor out.
"There are of course, various mental disorders prevalent among the subjects, but I've never felt a disassociative personality shift quite that strong before."
Christian
Christian rubbed his chin curiously, taking one last glance at Taylor before turning his back to the window.
"Yeah, it is interesting. And hopefully it's not normal."
N999
"Mrrrr..."
N999 coughed and stopped purring.
"Probably not. But it is awfully tasty to observe."
Christian
Christian raised his eyebrows then went to stand by the door to wait for someone to come and get him.
"Like that makes sense*"
N999
"No, it wouldn't because you're not a telepath," N999 said.
She waved goodbye as a soldier came to escort Christian back to his cell.
Christian
"Indeed."
Christian followed the soldier back to his cell, and went inside without hassle.
