Oliver and Yvette
Oliver stood at the cinema and watch as they put up a new huge 'coming soon' poster for the movie Yvette was in.
He wished that she wasn't avoiding him.
He shoved his hands into his pockets and stared at the poster for a while, then turned and started to walk off - and banged right into Yvette.
"Watch where you're going, would you?" she said.
"Sorry," Oliver replied.
He paused, and looked at her hopefully, but Yvette avoided his gaze and started walking off.
"I didn't get in," he called.
Yvette paused and glanced back at him.
"Didn't get in what?"
"I'm... I'm not going to be an agent."
Yvette paused.
"Why?"
"I failed the exam."
"You... you did?"
"Power control, not up to standard."
"Ahh... Sorry."
"No you're not," Oliver replied bittery. "You never wanted me to be an agent. Well I just thought you should know that you got your wish."
"Oli -"
"Don't 'Oli' me. You've been avoiding me ever since I went through with the application."
"I told you from the very beginning that I couldn't be friends with an agent."
"Yeah, and I can't believe you would make someone have to choose between you and the job of their dreams."
"You dream for an early death?"
"Knock it off, Yvette! It's not all dark and disorder."
"It is to me. And I suppose now you think I'm going to be friends with you now that you're not going to be an agent?"
"And I suppose you think I would want to be friends with someone how abandoned me?"
"Abandoned you? No, you abandoned me, and I don't see why I should take you back."
"Who's says I want you to?"
There was a long silence, then slowly, Oliver wrapped his arms around Yvette and kissed her.
"I... I suppose you think that's going to make up for everything?" Yvette asked quietly.
"Does it?"
Yvette paused.
"Yes."
