Tanya and Leroy

Tanya gave Leory a long look.

"Didn't I tell you there would be problems?"

"Actually, you said they were tricky and that problems could be disasterous," Leroy said.

"Isn't it a good thing they tested it on empty crates and not people?"

Leroy held his hands up.

"I'm not disputing that. Fact is, you're the only one capable of fixing the problem."

Tanya sighed.

"And I suppose you want to send me to England to fix said gliche?"

"Yes. We'll look after Kit for you. It shouldn't take more than a couple of days, right?"

"Well, that depends on the problem. Worst case scenario we have to start from scratch."

Leroy winced.

"That's what I thought," Tanya remarked.

Then she sighed.

"Okay, okay I'll go. It's not like there's much choice in the matter - I'm really the only one capable. I just wish Avery could be here. One day I'm not going to be around, and she's going to have to know about all this stuff. But if she continues being reluctant to use her powers... we had all better hope we find another potential master."

Leroy patted her shoulder.

"Thank you. And I'm sure Avery will come around. She's young."

"And she's been through a traumatic experience - killing the Eye."

"True. But still -"

"What's with the urgency to get the England teleportation amphlifier up, anyway?" Tanya asked, changing the subject.

A smile crossed Leroy's face.

"Well, we've been in negociations with the British government for a while. They're much more... willing than the Americans, that's for sure. We have a peace treaty with them as of yesterday."

"Why, that's great! How come it hasn't been announced yet?"

"It will be today, but I want your apprisal of the amplifier."

Tanya nodded.

"Okay," then she shook her head. "And they agreed to all of it? What was their reaction to our insistance about giving mutants equal rights?"

A smile crossed Leroy's face.

"Well, officially we don't know this yet..."

"Oh?"

"It would seem that a few people amongst the powerful who are mutants, but they didn't want the public to know this just yet. However, our insistance allowed them the excuse to get it passed throught parliament."

"Ahh, I see. Opportunistic politians."

"For once in our favour."

"Indeed. I wish the Americans would take a page out of their book."

"It's not over yet. As soon as it's formally annouced that mutants have equal rights..."

"All hell's going to break loose."
