7 May 2004 - Say, Julie...

Written by Nessa and Michelle

Bobby

Bobby flipped his book shut with a loud slap and hopped to his feet.

Ok, he was going to do it.

He sat down again.

Ok, maybe not.

He stood up and sat down a few more times, noting how much he felt like a yo-yo, then decided to just suck it up and do what he wanted.

So, with no more than a slamming of the door, Bobby flounced from his room, running down to Julie's and knocking gently.

"Yo, J-woman?"

Julie

Julie opened the door, B'Elanna in one arm.

"Hey B-man," she grinned. "Come on in."

She paused briefly.

"B-man," she repeated with a giggle. "Makes me think of Batman. So, Batman, how are you today?"

Bobby

"Oh, I'm BATman..."

Bobby followed Julie into her room and sat himself down on a seat.

"Well, you may have heard the news... I got accepted to NYU, which means, I'm moving out of here... and I kinda wanted to ask you this before I lose the balls and then I'll be a eunuch... but um... hey, wanna... wanna come with and move out with me?"

He paused.

"If you say no, I'm gonna pretend I didn't ask, so things don't get awkward, ok?"

Julie

Julie blinked.

"I ahh... sure," she said, a wide smile appearing on her face. "I'd love to. But I mean... are you sure you want me to? I mean, I'd hate for the kids to interfer with your studies or something..."

She glanced over at Tom, briefly.

Bobby

Bobby laughed.

"Jules, in the time that you've known me, when have I ever studied?"

He leant over and kissed her cheek.

"Anyway, I don't think I could move out without you, really. I kinda like having all of you around."

Julie

A big grin crossed Julie's face.

"Aww, thanks," she said.

She kissed him back.

"Good point though... never seen you study... Your idea of study s copy off everyone else," she nodded.

Bobby

"Not off everyone else. Just Roguey."

Bobby grinned and tickled Tom's stomach.

"Anyway, Rogue loves me or she wouldn't put up with me. So, you'll move in with me? Coz my parents, the loving people they are, are all for me moving out of the mansion and having what they'd call a normal life, so they bought me a place and if you truly have decided yes, I will hold you to this until we die, and we can go check out the place."

He panted for breath.

"That was a long sentence."

Julie

Julie giggled.

"Yes, yes it was," she said. "And yes my answer is truly yes. Checking out the place sounds like fun - it was very nice of your parents to get it for you."

She chewed her lip after that sentance. She would have to get around to deciding what she was going to change her last name to.

Bobby

Bobby wrapped his arms around Julie and kissed her cheek.

"Aw, Jules, don't worry about it. My parents shunned me after they learned I was a mutant. In fact, my kid brother called the cops on us. Of course, John didn't make it any better... but that's not the point. The only reason they've bought me this place is coz they think I'll shun my mutant ways now."

Julie

Julie kissed him back.

"Shun your mutant ways?" she repeated with a giggle. "What, they think it's a choice?"

Bobby

"Oh yes, when I first told my mom, she asked me if I'd tried not being a mutant."

Bobby chuckled.

"But hey, they're buying me stuff now, so I'll pretend."

Julie

Julie laughed.

"Sure, why not?" She said. "So, when do we get to check out this house of yours?"

Bobby

"Now, if you're not busy?"

Bobby moved some hair from her eyes.

Julie

"Sure," Julie replied. "I just need two minutes to pack the twins up."

She put B'Elanna into the stroller and then Tom beside her, and got their travel bag out.

Bobby

Bobby ran a hand through his hair.

"Ready?"

Julie

"Yup," Julie replied, smiling at him.

She started pushing the stroller out the door and down the hall to the garage.

Bobby

Bobby opened the car and helped Julie load the twins into the car, then hopped into the drivers seat.

Julie

Julie checked the twins one more time, then got into the front seat.

"Ooh, this is exciting," she said suddenly.

Bobby

"The fact I'm driving, or the fact we're moving out?"

Bobby grinned.

"Or both."

Julie

"Hmm, I'd say both, and the fact that I'm about to see a house. I like looking at houses," Julie grinned. "You probably think that's silly..."

Bobby

Bobby shrugged, as he started to drive them from the school.

"Not really, I like looking at porn, so I can't exactly tease you."

Julie

Julie laughed.

"Point taken," she said. "Hmm, so how far away from the school are we talking? The further the better, says I."

Bobby

Bobby shifted gears and made a small 'vroom' noise under his breath.

"Oh... it's in the city, about... a 20 minute drive to NYU. So maybe.... 45 minutes away from Xaviers."

Julie

"Ahh, that'll do," Julie replied.

Thus, 45 minutes later they pulled off the main streets and into some nice, residental looking ones.

"Getting close?" she asked.

Bobby

Bobby steered them into the right street, and pulled over, parking on the curb.

"It's that one," he said, pointing up at an apartment building.

Julie

"Snazzy," Julie replied.

She got out of the car, then opened up the back to get the twins out.

Bobby

Bobby waited for her, then locked the car, and led her into the building.

"It's big. Bigger than I expected, but then maybe it's because there's no furniture."

He led her through to the right door, and unlocked it.

Julie

Julie giggled.

"That could be it," she said, then turned to the twin as she pushed them inside. "Hey guess what you two, this is going to be... our new home."

The words sounded strange coming off her tongue somehow.

"Hey, this place looks pretty cool. Y'know, considering it's empty and all. Ooooh nice view!"

Bobby

Bobby chuckled.

"Yeah... there's like the master bedroom down there, end of the hall... and two spare bedrooms... which means one can be a nursery, and one can be Thom and B'Elanna's room. Or a study. Or whatever. This is the living room, very nice, empty. Kitchen, dining room thingy... yeah..."

Julie

Julie nodded as she looked around.

"Bathrooms?" she asked. "Oooh, does the master have an ensuite? And for the record, three bedroom apartment very cool."

Bobby

"That's me, cool all over."

Bobby grinned.

"Yep, master has an ensuite, and then just a toilet there... and then bathroom next to it. It's all so exciting. I like bathrooms. I like toilets. Because crapping in the bush ain't fun."

Julie

Julie giggled.

"Yeah, not much fun. At least we had toliet blocks when we went to Australia," she said.

Bobby

"I wouldn't have gone on camp if there had been no toilets."

Bobby nodded and then gestured around.

"So, reckon you can leave the mansion for this place and of course, me?"

Julie

Julie smiled and put her arms around his neck.

"Oh, I think I could do that," she said coyly. "I mean, lets face it, this place has it all."

Bobby

"Yep, toilets, taps that run hot AND cold... and if that wasn't enough... me!"

Bobby grinned and kissed her nose.

"And hey, no Scott or Jean!"

Julie

"Mmm, bonus," Julie smiled.

She kissed his lips softly.

"Hmm, any objection to me setting up some major computer equipment? I thought maybe..." she trailed off uncertainly.

Bobby

Bobby shook his head.

"No, you may not do anything in this place, except sit in the corner. Pssh, of course, you can set anything you want up. Hey, why don't you set lots of computers up and start your own porn website..."

Julie

Julie giggled.

"Well, I was planning on starting a website... but not about porn, I'm sorry," she said. "I was thinking more... online games. I've... I've sorta had a side project I've been working on... Y'know... I like computer games, and well, y'know, as much as I love my kids, I don't wnat to spend the rest of my life just raising kids, y'know?"

She had no idea why she was nervous. Maybe because she hadn't admitted this to anyone before.

Bobby

Bobby grinned.

"That's hell cool. Can I try out the online games before you load them onto the site? And hey, it's nothing to be nervous about... J-woman, I want to be an accountant... who can honestly say they saw that one coming?"

Julie

"Point taken," Julie teased. "And of course you can play them first. You can be my... game tester."

She winked at him.

Bobby

Bobby grinned and clapped.

"Wooooo! And we can earn lots of money and then say 'ha, suck on that Summers'!'"

He looked at his feet, still grinning.

"Because I am a smug, smug bastard."

Julie

"Plus, the best revenge is success," Julie nodded. "Of course, we're so great we'd succeed even if revenge wasn't a motivator."

She traced his face with her fingers.

"And you might be a smug bastard, but you're a damn sexy smug bastard."

Bobby

"Are you trying to flatter me, so as to get into my pants?" Bobby asked.

"Because... I gotta say... it's working."

Julie

"I can get into your pants any time I choose without having to go through flattery," Julie informed him.

She slipped her hand into the back of his pants.

"See?"

She pulled it out again and went back to looking around the apartment.

Bobby

"Oooh, cheeky and sneaky, you monkey."

Bobby slapped her butt lightly and went exploring.

"We'll have to paint it... this colour is quite gross. And get furniture. And a bed. A double. A queen. A king!"

Julie

"Yeah! A king-size!" Julie agreed, her eyes lighting up. "Always wanted a king. And I agree wholeheartedly about the paint. Did your 'rents give yah money for furniture?"

Bobby

"Yup! They're spoiling me because they think I'm shunning my mutant ways. Ha!"

Bobby looked around.

"It won't be a lot of money, but hey, I'll get a job and stuff."

Julie

Julie nodded.

"Cool. Right now I've just got what Zac sends me for the twins. And for the record, the guy is overlygenerous. But staying at the mansion was an advantage in someways - didn't have to pays for general stuff like food, so I have heaps saved up."

Bobby

"Yes. I'd agree, but I was totally freeloading."

Bobby shrugged.

"But hey, I'm young and good looking, work will pour in, even if I have to work as a male stripper..."

Julie

Julie grinned.

"Yes, yes you are," she said. "And I bet you'll make a mint."

She paused and looked down at her stomach.

"And I bet if I wasn't pregnant again I would too. Man..."

Bobby

Bobby put his arms around Julie and hugged her.

"Awwwww, you'd make more than me. And hey, don't worry, you're cute when you're pregnant."

Julie

Julie managed a smile.

"Thankies," she said. "But I think you'd make more. And I'm not just saying that."

Bobby

Bobby kissed her neck.

"You still upset about the pregnancy?"

Julie

"Mmm... it's not so much that I mind having kids..." Julie replied. "It's more that I mind being pregnant again so soon, and I don't know who the father is."

She sighed.

"I complain about this way too much, don't I?"

Bobby

"Hey, J, I know that I'm possibly a father, and I know that I'm also not... but I'm here. Whether genetically or not, I'll still be a father."

Bobby kissed her gently.

Julie

Julie kissed him back.

"Thank you," she said softly. "I don't think you'll ever know just how much that means to me."

Bobby

"I love you, Julie."

Bobby rubbed his thumb over her cheek.

"Anyway, wanna go furniture shopping?"

Julie

"I love you too," Julie replied. "Hmm, furniture shopping. Sounds like fun."

She kissed his fingers.

"Beds first?"

Bobby

"Sounds good. Hey if we get beds, we can move out like now."

Bobby grinned.

Julie

Julie giggled.

"We could... but then we'd have to travel forty-five minutes to school and back for the next month or so..."
