24 April 2004 - The Nanny

Isaac and Zac

Zac slugged down some water.

"That was cool," he said.

"The concert or the water?" Isaac asked cheekily.

Zac poked his tongue out at him, then put the water bottle down.

"Ella?" he called.

"In here," breathed his Sylph/Dathrian hybrid nanny.

Zac wandered into the next room and poked his head in.

"Hey, how are they?"

"Good," Ella said in her soft voice. "They both napping at the moment."

"Hmm... if Saku wasn't part cat I'd be concerned about how much sleep he gets."

"Cats do tend to sleep sixteen hours a day."

"Yeah... but you know."

Ella smiled.

Isaac listend to the exchange with some interest. Moreso just hearing and seeing the nanny. She spoke and moved so quietly, it was a wonder children ever bothered to listen to her. But then he supposed that air could also be swept into a tornado, so perhaps she had a terrible temper.

Zac checked his watch.

"Say, Ella, why don't you enjoy a night on the town tonight?" He suggested. "We don't leave until morning."

Ella blinked.

"Well... I..."

"You should get some time off while you can," Isaac advised.

Ella looked between the brothers.

"Thank you," she said softly. "I will."

Walker

"And very well deserved," Walker agreed, appearing from behind.

"Nevermind, Ella. We're sure to manage. We've almost always had a child in the house at any one time anyway."

Isaac and Zac

"Thank you, Mr Hanson," Ella said to Walker.

"I still maintain that Ike is a child," Zac joked.

"This coming from my little brother," Isaac said dryly.

"Are you going to start an immautre argument? Because y'know... you might need a nanny too..."

"Oh, ha ha."

Ella just smiled.
