21 April 2004 - From the moon comes madness

Natalia

Natalia panted slightly, breathing in shallowly through her mouth. The ward stank of urine and fear, acid stink of insanity clouding the rooms. The state put them away to forget about them. Get rid of them.

After the moon came out, there'd only be one place for most of them to go, these forgotten remnants of humanity. The city morgue.

The werewolf leant back against the wall of her room, eyes trained on the darkening sky. Slowly, the moon rose and she felt the change sweep over her. Bones lengthened and changed, fur sprouted, fangs dropped and a werewolf went hunting among the insane.

A slaughterhouse she left behind her.

Most too weak or drugged to run. Locked up and caged where a predator could eat them easily. Rip them into pieces for the fun of it.

She made a game of hunting down the orderlies and doctors. Chasing them through the halls. Baying to the moon as it sung through her blood.

Because her love was dead and she no longer cared to keep herself free from the taint of human blood.

She left the building and stretched, before padding off in the direction the moon set in, violet eyes gleaming and white coat matted with blood.
