Rove

"Welcome back to the show for this evening folks, and now... I think a lot of the girls in the audience have been waiting for this moment..."

A couple of girls in the audience screamed, and ROve laughed.

"...In time. Of course, as most of you will remember last week, we had some favourite ah... Australian Idol stars on the show..."

More screaming.

"Yes, Rebekah and Millsy. And you'll remember... well you might not, it depends on how far back your memory goes..."

"Ah Rove? What were we talking about?" Pete called from the side of the stage.

"So if you're like Peter Helliar..."

"Oh I'm sorry, you were just kind of blabbing on for a bit," Pete sat back and crossed his arms.

"Right... so if you remember further back than Pete, you'll know we had our favourite country boy Shannon Noll on, soon followed by our Idol Guy Sebastian..."

More screams from the audience.

"And of course, Shannon is back! Please welcome to the stage, Mr. Shannon Noll!"

Shannon finally entered the stage with a wave of his right hand as Rove moved across to the couch. They shook hands, and were both soon seated.

"Good ta see ya again mate," Shannon nodded.

"It definately is," Rove agreed, straightening his jacket, "and you've been a busy little bee, haven't you?"

"Oh mate, it has been full on, non stop," Shannon raised his eyebrows, "what with the album coming out, the single..."

"Congratulations on that by the way," Rove interrupted.

"Thanks mate. And... yeah. Touring. I was on Channel Ten's The Resort a while ago with Dicko..."

"Oh what was it like with Dicko the whole time?" Rove got an interested look on his face, "I'll bet that was a lot of fun."

Shannon's eyebrows rose again.

"For who Rove? Me, Dicko, or the general public?"

"Well I'd assume for everyone involved..."

"Ah, he wasn't too bad," Shannon waved him off, "but yeah, I wouldn't want to live with him for much longer than that."

He chuckled.

"I understand that... well obviously you're touring the country at the moment, but..."

"Yeah, yeah..."

"...I know there's been a bit of a... a bit of a tension should we say," Rove clenched his fists with a grin, regarding your next album."

Shannon rolled his eyes.

"Mate, nah, nah... I think, I think I just want to get this one out of the way before we work on the next."

"Which is always a good idea."

"Uh... yeah."

"Obviously you'd be keeping in touch with some of your... fellow Idol finalists..."

"Yeah of course."

"...Have you spoken to Guy recently at all?"

"Of course," Shannon insisted, "I mean, we need to get back together after this tour and all that because I mean... we still have a song to work on, together. But ah... nah, he's doing great. As far as I know. That's what he tells me anyway."

"No big scandals or anything? No juicy bits you could give us?"

"Nah, nah."

"Sorry to interrupt," came Pete's voice off the side of the stage, "but that look you just gave Shannon when you said that really creeped me out."

The audience laughed as Shannon turned to face him and Rove tried to look innocent.

"Nah honestly..." Pete began again, "is there something you're not telling us?"

"What, that we're involved?" Shannon raised an eyebrow, before the crowd started laughing again.

"It's ok, it's ok!" Rove insisted, "we're just coming clean..."

"But Rove! He's got a girlfriend and has two kids!" Pete exclaimed.

Rove laughed for a moment, then gave the camera his Dr. Evil look.

"Oh no, that's bad!" Pete exclaimed.

"Hey hey," Shannon attempted to keep the peace, "it's cool, it's all good."

"Yeah I'm SURE it is!" Pete rolled his eyes, winking every now and then.

"I don't think I want to take that conversation any further," Rove laughed, moving papers around on his desk.

Then Pete laughed in a French accent, causing everyone else to start laughing again.

"Oh God, why did you leave me with Pete? We're gonna go to a commercial break, thank God."

"I didn't know you were so religious mate," Shannon grinned.

"Yeah Rove, be careful what you say," Pete warned, exaggerating just a little.

"We're going to a break!" Rove insisted, "and when we come back, we're gboing to see what our live listener Rachel is up to with those... chickens, and... then we have our comedic guest for the evening, then Shannon's going to do a little performance for us."

"Oh if I have to," Shannon shrugged.

"Well it's not like you're chained to stage now, IS IT SHANNON?!" Pete demanded.

"Although we could probably remedy that..." Rove put on his Dr. Evil look again, "no wait, let's not go there. Commercial! We'll be right back after this..."

And his papers went flying to the floor.
