Rebekah
Rebekah closed her eyes, letting the make up girl dust her eyelids lightly with a slight shimmer.
Her skin tone looked almost golden, and her hair had been straightened and the front section pinned back in railroad plaits.
"Five minutes, people!" a guy with a headset peered into the room.
Rebekah got up from the chair and slipped her feet into the dusky pink 1940's style shoes in front of her.
She pulled her baggy dirty denim jeans down a bit, and adjusted her light pink singlet, with the plaited shoulders and the low back, before being ushered to the stage.
"Please welcome, Rebekah LaVauney," Andrew G announced.
Rebekah smiled and walked onto the stage, and sat down with him, and Jimmy Matheson on the couch.
"For those of you who don't know, Rebekah and I, we had a very special relationship on Australian Idol. I was in love with her, but unfortunately, Rebekah kept pretending she didn't love me back, and that made working together very difficult. Seeing as she now regrets not going for me," Jimm said, nodding.
"You're so full of it," Andrew replied.
"That never happened," Rebekah joined in.
"Ok, look, I was building myself up to look like a stud, and you both ruined it," Jimmy said.
"Well, it's been a long time since we've caught up with you, you look great. How are you?" Andrew asked, rolling his eyes at Jimmy's statement.
"I've been really good, thank you," Rebekah replied.
"Well you do look fantastic, and it's been, what... a year? More? At any rate, you're touring with the young Mr Mills, aren't you?" Jimmy questioned.
"Yes, that starts at the end of this month, which is very exciting, and my album's out on the 20th, too, so, yeah, a lot this month."
"That's right, it is too. We actually have a clip of you in the studios..." Andrew grinned.
Rebekah blushed and playfully slapped his arm.
A clip came up on the screen, of Rebekah lounging around sipping water, listening to John Foreman talk to Tim Watson. Rebekah looked very bored.
"You look hard at work," Jimmy cracked.
"Tell us, did you have a big input on the album? Because I remember in the competition, you were always very exact, I mean you knew how you wanted the song to go, and you'd change it, if need be. So, how different was it, this time?"
"I did a majority of the writing on this album, but I mean, I wouldn't say it was all me. John and Tim helped, and then my boyfriend helped out a lot. So, it was a lot of people, but I did write a lot of the stuff. It was... it was pretty different, I mean, Australian Idol was just taking someone else's song and putting my own spin on it, but this was starting from scratch, and yeah..."
"Ok, so I know you had a bit of a rough time this year, did any of that contribute or influence your music in any way?" Andrew asked seriously.
"I think, anything that happens to you in life, it's going to affect the way you write or sing, or whatever, because so much of inspiration is just everyday life, and events in it, so, I'd say yes, this year has changed my music a lot."
"In what ways?"
"I think my music got a little darker... maybe a little sad in parts, but it's all part of the creative process, I guess."
"Well, when we heard, we were really upset for you. Was it a really hard time, and how did you end up making it through, because, you look fantastic now."
Rebekah smiled.
"Um, I just had an amazing support team around me. It was a really bad time for me, because I lost my two baby boys, and then their father."
"Was there ever a time where you didn't think you'd make it?" Jimmy asked.
"Oh yeah, definitely. After Filipo and Terence... died... I... I was a mess, and I honestly did not think I was going to survive," Rebekah replied, her eyes glistening with tears.
"But you had your friends around you, in particular, a young man named Jonothon Starsmore. So do you think without them, you'd be ok to talk about this?" Jimmy asked, patting her shoulder gently.
"I don't think I could, right now, had they, and Jono, in particular, not been there for me. I mean, it's something I really believe I'll never be completely over, which is good, because I don't want to forget, and I don't ever want to be ok with them being gone, you know?"
"Oh definitely, because it would really kinda cheapen their memory, if you just kinda went 'oh well, who cares?'"
"So, tell us about Jono?" Andrew asked.
Rebekah smiled happily.
"He's... I don't know there's not really any words to describe him, just he's fantastic and amazing, and I would just be a mess without him, and I owe a lot to him, for just putting up with me, and being there and supporting me when I need it. I love him so much, he's just amazing."
"Awwww! See, this is why you didn't stand a chance, man," Andrew joked.
"You're not as cool as that."
"Awww!" Jimmy pouted.
"No, but really, it's great that you have someone like him, and you're back, with avengeance, living your life and doing it spectacularly, if I may say so."
"Thank you," Rebekah said.
"So, your new single, 'Dance With You', is the song that was on the cast album, with Levi?" Andrew said, holding up the cast album.
"And this is released..."
"Um... the 12th."
"So, you'll be performing a something from the album, for us?"
"Yes, a little taste."
"A tease."
Rebekah laughed and stood up, pulling her pants up slightly as she went over to the band area and sat on the stool.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Rebekah LaVauney."
She picked up the guitar and strummed at it, a slow, mounrful tune waffling out.
"I never thought I'd do this
Have to go through this alone
Didn't think you'd leave me
In a life that was so cold
But you just let my hand go
And watched me drift away
I'm drowning in this darkness
Please my love, just stay
I guess I'm just lost without you
Without you, where do I turn?
Looking up into the stars
Waiting for your return
Coz boy, I need you so bad
Without you I'm just lost
We dance around the issues
We never touch the pain
But you keep letting go
And I'll keep sinking deeper
Without you, I'm alone
I guess I'm just lost without you
Without you, where do I turn?
Looking up into the stars
Waiting for your return
Coz boy, I need you so bad
Without you I'm just lost
Oh baby, please don't go again
Everytime you walk out my door
My heart rips to shreds
And I need you oh so bad
I guess I'm just lost without you
Without you, where do I turn?
Looking up into the stars
Waiting for your return
Coz boy, I need you so bad
Without you I'm just lost..."

Andrew sealed the taped interview into a parcel and handed it to their courier.
"Jono should have that by... tonight. She's pretty efficient," he told Rebekah.
"Ok, cool. Yeah, I just wanted to keep all of this, and so I figured sending it to him, it'd be pretty safe, and I wouldn't have to lug it around."
"So what's in there?" Jimmy asked.
"This interview, the one with Rove... um some magazine interviews... photos from shoots... just assorted things."
