Rebekah
Rebekah froze in her tracks as she heard an all too familiar voice. She suddenly felt like someone had tipped ice cold water over her head, and she stood up straight and lowered her gaze to the ground.
"'Ave you reconsidered?" was her father's greeting.
Mrs LaVauney's lip curled in utter disgust as Rebekah fidgeted nervously.
"Non," Rebekah replied, her nove shaking.
"You will regret zat choice."
"I do not zink I will."
Mr LaVauney raised his hand to slap her, but then drew back at the last moment.
"You will regret zis," he spat, before turning and leaving, with Mrs LaVauney following behind.
Rebekah closed her eyes for a moment, then grabbed some car keys and headed into the city.
~*~*~*~
Mr LaVauney flipped out his cell phone and called Rex.
"Take Rebekah."
Rex
"Mah pleasure," Rex said.
He tapped a team of operatives and they set out. He found Rebekah quickly and nodded slightly to the sniper on team. A quick squeeze of his finger and a dart thudded into Rebekah's neck where she was getting out of her car.
Rex was out the car to grab her before she hit the ground.
Rebekah
Rebekah awoke some time later, and she rubbed her eyes, looking around with blurred vision.
"Hello?"
Rex
Rex grinned to himself as he watched her come out of the drug induced sleep.
"And hello yoself, shugah."
Rebekah
Rebekah backed up as much as she could.
"How... let me go!"
Rex
"I'm thinking no..." Rex said slowly, almost purring.
He sat still in his chair and watched her. Shaka lay at his feet, ears pricked.
"Not when yo were handed to me on a silver platter like yo were."
Rebekah and Bobby
Rebekah looked at him in horror.
"Who...?"
~*~*~*~
Bobby was trying his hardest to avoid Jono. He'd managed to avoid being beaten to a pulp, or worse, killed, since he stole Rebekah's panties, but it was only a matter of time now.
Rex & Jonothon
"It's always the ones yo love..." Rex said, smiling slightly.
~*~*~*~
"Bobbbbyyyyyyyy...where are yer, yer little yellow bastard?"
Jonothon stalked through the hallways.
Rebekah and Bobby
Rebekah paused and then she realised, her father's words ringing in her ears.
"No!" she cried, jumping up on unsteady legs and bolting for the door.
~*~*~*~
Bobby eeped and started to run out of the school, crashing into Millsy.
"Oh hey, I was wondering - "
"I don't want to die!"
"O...k. Could you just point me in the direction of Rebekah LaVauney's room?"
"Oh no, that's the room I'm avoiding."
Bobby caught sight of Jono and hid behind Millsy.
"Jono! Take him to your girlfriend, and don't hurt me!"
Rex & Jonothon
"Shaka."
The dog leapt forward, fixing his teeth in Rebekah's shoe and jerking his head viciously to bring her crashing down.
~*~*~*~
"Get out of the way, tosser," Jonothon spat.
e feinted around Millsy, trying to get to Bobby.
"I'm gonna kill yer, Drake!"
Rebekah, Bobby and Levi
Rebekah fell to the ground, slamming her knee into the wall and she winced in pain.
"Let me go!"
~*~*~*~
Bobby screamed, much in the style of a woman and ran away again, heading for the remote. And this time, he'd break it.
Levi came outside to see what all the noise was about and saw Millsy.
"Oh hey man, yeah I'll take ya to Bek."
"Rock."
Rex, Jonothon & Logan
"Again...no," Rex said.
Shaka stood over her, teeth bared and snarling in her face.
~*~*~*~
"SOMEONE SAVE THE REMOTE!"
Jonothon took off after Bobby, coat flapping slightly around his legs.
Logan stood in front of the door to the recroom as Jubilee grabbed the remote and fled.
"No breaking the remote, Ice. Didn't you believe me when I said what I'd do to ya if ya broke it?"
Rebekah, Bobby and Levi
Rebekah screamed, looking for another way out.
"Leave me the f*ck alone!"
~*~*~*~
"But, but, but..."
Bobby darted away from Logan.
"Why isn't Faith here to distract you? And why isn't Rebekah distracting Jono?"
Levi came bolting down the stairs, Millsy at his heels.
"Are you sure she's just not out of range?"
"Nah, Bek and I get through most things," Levi said, looking worried. "Maybe Jono knows where she is."
Rex, Jonothon & Logan
Rex chuckled and Shaka leant down to grip her throat in cruelly curved teeth.
"Yo keep saying these things, and the answer's just gonna be no."
~*~*~*~
No, oh no.
Jonothon turned and fled towards downstairs and Cerebro. He couldn't find her in his mind, the link oddly vacant.
Logan growled at Bobby, then turned.
"If Chamber can't find her, the prof might be able to. She might be in a subway, they block some mind snoops."
Rebekah, Bobby and Levi
Rebekah threw up her shields a bit more.
"Go to hell."
~*~*~*~
Bobby, Levi and Millsy followed Jono.
"So even if you were linked, it'd still be blocked?" Bobby asked.
"Why would Rebekah go into the city anyway? She knew Rob was coming today," Levi wondered aloud.
Rex & Jonothon
Rex chuckled and got up from his chair.
"I don't want to go to heaven anyway."
~*~*~*~
"How much do yer know about Bek's parents?" Jonothon asked.
He punched the elevator button and waited for it impatiently.
Rebekah and Levi
Rebekah breathed heavily.
"I won't do as you tell me."
~*~*~*~
Levi shrugged slightly.
"Kicked her out when she was... fifteen. They never approved of anything she did, and from what I could tell, she was beaten pretty badly when she went home. I know the day after she left Idol, her dad kicked the crap out of her. Jules and I had to port in and get her from hospital."
Millsy's fists clenched slightly.
Rex
"Won't you?" Rex said softly.
"Feeling up to another round in the mess hall then?"
~*~*~*~
"She saw them today. Without telling me beforehand wot the hell she was doing. She just doesn't think sometimes...they ain't human, those two."
Jonothon headed to Cerebro and then knelt in front of it.
"If yer come in here with me...yer can't move. I don't even know if I can do this...if I fall down, yer have to get Dr McCoy. Right away."
He opened Cerebro.
"Welcome, Jean," the voice said pleasantly as the doors slid open.
Rebekah and Levi
Rebekah stopped talking.
~*~*~*~
Levi walked in and stood still.
Rex & Jonothon
"I thought so," Rex said softly.
He whistled Shaka off her.
"Get up and strip."
~*~*~*~
Jonothon flexed his hands slightly, then lifted Cerebro's helmet onto his head as the doors slid closed.
He threw his head back, eyes wide with agony as he forced his talents to work at a higher level then they ever had before. Zooming, sickening sensation built up through his body as he searched frantically for Rebekah before the pure strength of will that was holding him up was drained.
"AHHHHHH GOD!"
Rebekah and Levi
Rebekah closed her eyes.
Someone please, please find her...
"No."
~*~*~*~
Levi pulled the headset off Jono and then ran to open the doors.
"DR MCCOY!"
Rex, Jonothon & Hank
"No?" Rex repeated in a dangerous voice.
"Yo seem to have gotten real fond of that word."
He sat down again abruptly, then slid into her mind.
~*~*~*~
Jonothon rolled onto his side, flames melting the front of his bandages. He couldn't concentrate to speak.
Hank came running.
"What happened?" he snapped at Levi as he hesitated before lifting Jonothon into his arms.
The psifire snapped and wavered around them both, outlining them in ghostly radiance.
Rebekah and Levi
Rebekah was reinforcing her shields with all her might.
~*~*~*~
Levi backed away.
"He used that Cerebro thing, and it all went bad from there."
Rex & Hank
Rex forced his way in, muttering slightly to himself.
~*~*~*~
"Oh my stars and garters..." Hank muttered to himself.
He moved quickly to his lab, mind whirling. What should he do?
Rebekah
Rebekah felt the barriers beginning to crumble slightly and she tried to stop it.
Rex
Rex bared his teeth slightly and surged his strength into a probe into her mind. He felt the walls crack and grinned ruthlessly.
"Yo love doin' things the hard way..."
Rebekah
Rebekah held her head and winced slightly.
"Get out!"
Rex
"No. Yo mine now."
Rex continued to force his way in, powers taking down her shields.
Rebekah
Rebekah shrieked in pain as the walls were torn down.
"GET OUT!"
Rex
Rex ignored her, continuing to make his way deeper into his mind.
"Let's see here..."
Rebekah and Khaos
Rebekah's eyes fluttered and she passed out from the pain.
Khaos flinched as she felt one of her sheilds go down and she pin pointed the problem.
Rex
Rex slid abruptly into her mind, all resistance failing and chuckled to himself.
"Ok, lessee what we got here..."
Khaos and Rebekah
Khaos flicked and Rebekah was teleported to the medlabs on a bed in the mansion.
Rebekah's eyes fluttered again.
Rex & Hank
Rex shouted with surprise, rocketing back into his body with a groan.
Well, that hadn't been meant to happen.
~*~*~*~
"Oh, my!" Hank exclaimed.
He ran over to the bed and smoothed a hand over her forhead gently. First Jonothon, and now this.
"Rebekah?"
Rebekah
Rebekah opened her eyes and looked blankly at Hank.
"Mmmmmm?"
Hank
"You're conscious, that's one thing," Hank muttered to himself.
"What happened?"
Rebekah
"Hmm? Oh, must 'ave dozed off somewhere," Rebekah replied.
She rubbed her head.
Hank
"You appear out of nowhere in my medlab," Hank began.
"Mr Starsmore utilized Cerebro in a desperate and reckless attempt to find you, and you think you fell asleep?"
Rebekah
Rebekah looked at Hank in confusion.
"Non, I do not remember."
She shook her head slightly.
"What has 'appened to Jono?"
Hank
"He is in a coma of some description," Hank said.
"Mr Starsmore's physiology being so radically different from anyone else's, it's hard to say more then that."
Rebekah
Rebekah got up slowly and walked to Jono's side.
"Dr McCoy, do you sink I could 'ave some asprin?"
Hank
"Of course."
Hank left to fetch some aspirin. He returned shortly.
"Here you are."
Rebekah
Rebekah took it and went to lay down again.
"Merci."
Hank
"It's important you rest," Hank said softly.
Rebekah
"Oui."
Rebekah lay back against the pillows.
Hank
Hank moved across the room to check on JOnothon. The telepath's eyes stared blankly upwards.
"I think he should wake soon, or perhaps tomorrow," Hank offered.
Rebekah
Rebekah nodded and massaged her temples.
"Is... how long has he been like zis?"
Hank
"About half an hour before you appeared, he attempted to access Cerebro," Hank said.
"And you've been here for...twenty minutes."
Rebekah
"How long was I gone?" Rebekah asked softly.
"Can... can I go sit with him?"
Hank
"I am not sure," Hank said.
"I was not aware you were missing. Of course you can sit with him...just let me find a chair..."
He went to do that thing.
Rebekah
Rebekah shook her head, feeling like the itch was somehow inside. Hopefully the feeling would fade.
She got up slowly from the bed and went over to Jono's side, running a gentle hand down his face.
Hank
Hank found the chair and then coughed politely.
"Here you are, Rebekah. May I also suggest that you inform Levi that you are safe and well?"
Rebekah
Rebekah looked up at him with blank eyes, then she shook her head.
"Oh, oui, I will do zat now zen... um... I will not be too long."
She walked slowly from the medlabs, swaying slightly.
Hank
Hank watched her leave with a careful eye.
"Come back here when you're done."
She hadn't appeared to have a concussion...
Rebekah and Levi
Rebekah found Levi in her room, and he enveloped her in a hug.
"God, are you ok?" he asked, kissing her forehead.
"Oui... just a little tired."
They sat down and Levi rubbed her shoulders, sitting in silence for a long moment.
"You don't have to tell me."
"I will... I just can't right now. I do not 'ave the energy."
"I understand."
Rebekah smiled weakly, and then stood up.
"I am going to go sit with Jono again."
She left, still wobbling.
