Michael and Maria
Michael walked into the apartment he and Maria were sharing.
"Hey, Maria, you home?" he called.
There was no reply, so he went to the bathroom and did his business. As he washed his hands, he glanced into the wastepaper basket.
"What the?" he asked himself.
He reached his hand into the bin and pulled out a pregnancy test.
A positive one.
At that moment, the front door opened - Maria had returned home.
"Maria!" Michael yelled.
"Yes -" Maria began as her boyfriend exploded into the room.
"Who have you been sleeping with?" he demanded as he waved the test in the air.
"Uhh," Maria blinked. "You?"
"And?"
"Just you."
"That's not possible!"
"Why?"
"Well, because that would mean that I, umm, umm... oh."
Maria cracked a grin.
"I was going to tell you tonight."
Michael slumped down on the couch.
"Are you sure we're ready for this?"
"No, but do you think we'll ever be ready for this?"
"Probably not. We don't exactly have any idea how to be parents."
"True, but then what parent does?"
"Point."
"Besides, neither of us believes in abortion, and if I'm going to carry a baby for nine months, then I would prefer to have the fun of raising it."
"So... I guess... that's that then."
"Guess so. Parenthood, here we come."
