Room69, Amy and Alyssa
Noah opened Adam's front door and walked inside.
"Yo, Fat?" he called.
"In here," Adam replied.
Noah walked into the living room to see Pete sprawled out on one of the couches, Chris and Alyssa curled up on a mattress on the floor, and Amy and Adam fighting over a beanbag. With Amy looking like she had the upper hand, due to the extreme pinching of Adam's arms.
"Where's AJ?" he asked.
"Her room. Good to see you too," Alyssa teased.
Noah flipped her off and headed to AJ's room.
"Hey, AJ?"
AJ
AJ barely looked up from a book she'd stolen from Alyssa.
"Hey babe," she said.
"And how are we today?"
Noah
"Not too shabby, and your fine self?"
Noah lay back on her bed, propping himself up on his elbows.
AJ
AJ shut the book and grinned.
"Could be better."
She put the book down, then leant over to kiss him.
Noah
"Awwww, diddums."
Noah kissed her back.
"What's doin?"
AJ
"You at the moment," AJ chuckled, laying down next to him.
"I found some book in Lys's room. Been reading it. Obviously."
Noah
"Feel like going out and getting some food?"
Noah ran his hands through her hair.
AJ
"Mmm... takeout," AJ grinned.
She leant over and kissed him again.
"Sounds good. Take me."
Noah
Noah chuckled and picked her up, slinging her over his shoulder.
"Alright, take out it is."
He carried her out past the party in the living room and then out to the car.
"What did you feel like?"
AJ
AJ chuckled as they got into the car.
"Something random. Surprise me. And doo that again and I'll kick your ass."
Noah
"Yes m'am," Noah said, saluting before starting the car.
He started to drive to the nearest Chinese take out place.
AJ
AJ's grin only grew wider when she realized where they were going.
"Sweet," she said, undoing her seatbelt.
Noah
Noah swung the car into the parking spot and turned the key, then got out.
"Want to eat in? Or order and take it back to my house?"
AJ
"Whatever you want," AJ shrugged, "I'm happy."
She made her way over to him after closing the door, and slipped her arm around his waist.
Noah
"Get it to go then."
Noah kissed her cheek lightly, then led her into the restaraunt.
"What did you feel like?" he asked, perusing the menu.
AJ
"Ummm... sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken... maybe beef and mushroom?"
She raised an eyebrow.
Noah
Noah relayed their order to the hostess, then sat down to wait.
"Wanna hire a movie?"
AJ
"Sure," AJ shrugged.
"If you let me get away with it, I'm dying to see Road to El Dorado again..."
Noah
"Nope, we've watched that too many times."
Noah shook his head.
AJ
"We have not!" AJ objected, "and even if he had, I love Tulio. So that's a good enough excuse."
She tapped her chin.
"Scream?"
Noah
"Yeah, Scream's ok. I have it at home."
Noah went and collected their food, and paid.
AJ
"Sweet," AJ crooned, getting up to follow him out.
"Do I have to save you from the scary parts?"
She raised an eyebrow.
Noah
"Yeah, because I'm the one who screams at every weird noise," Noah said dryly.
He unlocked the car and put the food in the backseat.
AJ
"You know, that sarcasm would work if I could scream at all," AJ raised her eyebrows.
"You know I only get pissed off. I can't scream. I'm a tom boy."
Noah
"Yeahhhh."
Noah started the car and started the drive back to his house.
AJ
AJ settled down, sitting the food on her lap.
Mmmm... nice and warm.
But the smell was making her hungry.
Noah
Noah pulled up at his house and got out of the car.
He grabbed the food from the seat and headed for the front door, locking the car over his shoulder.
AJ
AJ followed him, watching him curiously.
He was up to something.
"Something wrong?" she asked, tilting her head to the side.
Noah
Noah turned around, looking confused.
"Ah, no, should there be? I'm just a-hungry."
He opened the front door and switched the light on, and found a note on the table in the hallway.
"Hmm, Dad's gone away again. He'll be back next week."
AJ
"Sweet," AJ grinned, closing the door behind her.
"Guess I know where I'm staying for a while."
She took off her jacket.
Noah
Noah led her into the living room, where he put the food on the table. He peered into the bags.
"Hmmm, they forgot to give us chopsticks. I can fix that."
He clasped his hands together, and when he separated them, there were forks and chopsticks.
AJ
AJ raised an eyebrow as she sat down.
"Thank God you made forks too, because I can't use chopsticks for nuts."
The corner of her mouth quirked in a grin as she grabbed one.
Noah
Noah chuckled and opened the box of his noodles, grabbing some chopsticks.
"Hopeless."
AJ
"Yep," AJ agreed wholeheartedly.
"Completely and utterly hopeless is what my mother used to say."
She grabbed a piece of pork and dipped it in the sauce.
Noah
Noah chewed thoughtfully, getting up to put the movie on.
"You miss them?"
AJ
AJ hesitated, staring at the video player.
"I try not to think about it," she said finally.
Noah
"Fair enough."
Noah turned to look at her, while fast forwarding the previews.
"You don't have to stay if you don't want to. I just want you to be happy."
AJ
"I'm happier here than I would be at home, put it that way," AJ pulled a face, eyeing off the rice.
She dug her fork in and ate some.
Noah
"Hey, AJ..."
Noah gestured over at his jacket, which was closest to her.
"Could you reach into the pocket and give me my phone?"
AJ
AJ shrugged and struggled with the jacket a little before reaching into the pocket.
She felt around for a moment, a frown appearing on her face.
"It's not in here," she said finally, pulling out what she'd found instead.
"Just that."
She sat it on the table.
"You haven't lost it, have you?" she asked worriedly.
Noah
Noah picked up the box and opened it, then kneeled down in front of AJ.
"Hmmm, holding a box with a ring and kneeling... you have any idea what I'm gonna ask?"
AJ
AJ stared at him blankly for a moment, her eyes barely hitting the ring, like a deer trapped in headlights.
"No," she lied, trying not to grin.
Noah
"Well, if you don't know, then I don't know."
Noah nodded.
AJ
"What a shame," AJ raised an eyebrow.
"Guess you're just going to have to stay there until you figure it out then."
Noah
"Shut up. Wanna marry me?"
Noah grinned cheekily.
AJ
AJ bit her lip. Nope, it was getting too much. She laughed.
"Yeah, I will," she chuckled, before leaning over to hug him.
Noah
Noah kissed her gently.
"Cool."
AJ
"Talk about doing things the convedntional way," AJ rolled her eyes before kissing him again.
"Damn, this means I have to wear a dress. This was just a big plan to get me in one, wasn't it?"
Noah
"You can wear whatever you want. If it makes you happy, we can get married in pj's. Hey, let's do that!"
Noah grinned.
AJ
AJ shrtugged.
"That could be cool. And instead of a bouquet I'll have a teddy bear."
She grinned.
Noah
"And we could wear slippers. Oh! And instead of the wedding march, we could have Bananas in Pyjama's playing."
Noah nodded.
AJ
AJ chuckled.
"Sounds absolutely gripping."
She held her left hand out so he could put the ring on.
Noah
Noah took the ring from the box and put it on her hand.
"Now, back to dinner?"
AJ
"Mmmm... yep," AJ said, looking the ring over first.
"Not bad. I bet this one cost ya."
Noah
"Hmmm," Noah replied, non cimmittedly.
He lifted his noodles up and started to eat again.
AJ
AJ grinned, then went back to eating herself and just watching the movie.
"Pretty good timing. I'll be eighteen in a few months."
Noah
"Indeed you will."
Noah forked some noodles into his mouth.
AJ
"My that sounded awfully sneaky," AJ said, continuing to eat the sweet and sour pork.
"Should I be worried?"
Noah
"Not unless you want to."
Noah flicked onto the movie.
AJ
"Fair enough."
And so they settled down to watch the movie.
