Blakesley.
Blakesley smiled as he watched the workers move around, setting up his new labratories and research facilities. He could live down here, and probably would. Get out of his Father's house.
Living there was fine as a stopgap measure, but otherwise...
This...alliance of sorts with Ashtoreth and Astrid seemed to be working out fine. He even had a first experiment set up.
He walked across into one of the cells. A young man raised his head and stared at him, even though where his eyes should have been were two blank patches of skin. Creamy coffee coloured skin was framed by loose hanks of long black hair, face pointed and thin with the emaciation of malnutrition and starvation. His hands were long and thin with tapering fingers, his whole body a lanky length of whipcord muscle. He wore no shoes and his feet were hard and calloused, with deep cracks around the heels.
What do you want?
The telepathic whisper chased around Blakesley's mind and the scientist smiled.
"You'll find out...Kass."
"Dumpfbacke," Kass spat, literally.
Blakesley moved back slightly, then backhanded the slight man across the face.
"Vhy you bring me here, Dumpfbacke? I vas nosing to you. Nosing to anyone. Just another blind begger, sometime whore in Berlin. Vhy?"
"Because no one will care if you die...and I can use you," Blakesley said.
He left, a guttural stream of bitten off German invective following him before Kass fell silent.
This would be an interesting experiment if it suceeded. A symbiosis of minds...he patted his hand across the top of a dog cage and a whimpering whine came from the animal inside. Yes, it would be interesting when it was done. Would they both go insane? Only the completion of the experiment would bring the answer to that question.
