Vulpe's fingers flew over the keyboard as she stubbornly hacked her way into the Vindichi business computers. Keep her out? She didn't think so. The Vixen always got her prey.

She yipped a bark of excitement when she dug her way in and set a wyrm loose in the computers databases. A wyrm was like the more commonly styled 'worm', but far more deadly and destructive in its own way. More selective. More intelligent.

That out of the way, she rang a number her father had given her once. Only to use as a last resort. When nothing else would work, and she needed to get someone out of the way. This was that time, and Dios willing, she would never use it again.

Rex picked up his phone, his secretary on a brief break.

"Yello?"

"Buona mattina," Vulpe said, after a brief glance up at the clock.

She'd been coding for a day and a bit straight. Well, this wasn't one of Gambit's fields.

"I wish to retain your services...

A few days later, the head of the Vindichi clan suicided. His wife got hit by a bus. Their only remaining son died in a business deal gone wrong, but it was to be admitted he had been cheating the killers. Not the wisest thing to do with a tong. They played for keeps. Centuries. The daughters clung to their husbands as the name of Vindichi from the Thieves Guild died out.

"I think," Vulpe said slowly to herself, reading the paper in a few days.

"It is time for me to go home to my Guild. Grazie, Dio."
