Rex.
Rex flicked through the pages of infomation his secretary had given him. Sell to the CIA, the FBI, Interpol...hmm, blackmail this guy. He could afford it. And it was rather nasty and embarressing too...
Not many people liked it to get out that they were raping their children. The father raping his son at that.
And oh look, a videotape. He scribbled a note on the page that the operative for this operation should recieve a cut of 2% from the first payout, then 0.5% from every successive payout. He looked after his employees. That was just good business sense. Money could buy loyalty, and it could buy disloyalty too. He knew that very well.
He picked up the phone and dialled the English phone number, waiting for it to be picked up.
"Good evening, the Edgerton-Smythe residence. To whom am I speaking?" A polite, wellbred British voice answered.
Rex's teeth flashed in an unamused grin. He knew this type of honky. Oh too well. He cleared his throat and spoke in a clipped Yankee voice rather then his Southern gumbo drawl.
"This is Mr Marreaux of the SCC, calling from Washington, USA."
He knew that this was the number of the phone this week, and would check out for a basic security check.
"I need to talk to Baron Edgerton-Smythe about some of his investments."
"Just a moment, sir."
Rex drummed his fingers on the desk as he listened to the classical hold music.
"Hello?" A crisp voice came on the line.
"Baron Edgerton-Smythe..." Rex almost purred.
He loved sticking it to guys like this. White, respected, rich. But with very nasty secrets they paid a bucketload to hide.
"If you would look in your e-mail inbox..."
He waited for a moment, smiling.
"Where did you get that?" Bryce said in an angry, quiet voice.
"The question is not where did I get it..."
Rex's voice slid back into his normal tones.
"The question I'm askin' yo is how much y'all willin' ta pay for me not ta publish it widely..."
They entered into business discussions, settling on a payment of $5 million American dollars.
"Y'all have a nice day now, ya hear?" Rex said, before he hung up.
