Seeing Ghosts

Written by Michelle and Joy

11 months into the trip...

Julie, Zac, Friday, Saku and Isaac

Julie and Zac were nursing their newborn children whilst Friday was swimming in the pool when it happened. A woman (with one breast) came swanning into the pool area, arms draped around a shirtless young man. She bestowed a kiss on him and they stretched out in a could of deck chairs.

"Oh Cabana boy!" she called, "I could do with a bottle of champagne for myself and my boy. Chop, chop!"

She then turned to "her boy" who was obviously gazing at her lovingly, and they settled into a quiet conversation. Friday looked at them curiously for a moment, then swam over to the others.

"Say," she said, poking her head out of the pool. "Doesn't that guy over there look like Ike?"

"I believe one of the reasons why we came here," Julie said, "was because we wanted to avoid ourselves. What are the chances of Isaac being here?"

It was at this point that Saku came bounding over.

"Uncle Ike is here!" he exclaimed.

"There you see," Friday said smugly, "I thought it was him."

"How can you tell?" Julie asked. "Lots of people look like Ike from this distance."

"Smell," Saku nodded.

"Oh. Ok. Can't argue with that," Julie looked over. "Who's that girl he's with any way?"

"I wouldn't know," Friday shrugged.

"Me neither."

Zac, who everyone had just now noticed had been sitting there, staring at the couple spoke:

"It's Myra," he said quietly.

"Who's Myra?" Friday asked.

"Isaac was seeing her in our world for a while. He had been planning on proposing when she was killed by an alien hunter who was trying to get to him two and a half years ago," Zac swallowed.

Jessica, Rachel and Willow

Jess and Rachel were heading over to meet their friends when Jess saw some people.

"Isn't that your Ike?" Rach said, squinting. "And, isn't that the girl from those pictures?" Jess began to hyperventilate. She grabbed Rach's hand and ran over to where the others were. It was obvious from Zac's face that Zac spotted her too.

"Omg, Zac, it's MYRA!" she exclaimed in a hoarse whisper, not wanting Myra and/or Isaac to spot them. Willow noticed that Jess had a dotting of tears in her eyes. "How can it be?" she asked, quietly.

"All things are possible in dimensional travel, Willow said, stroking Jess's hair soothingly.

"It's so weird. Seeing her alive. walking around, and dressed like a skank with one breast. So, un-Myra," Jess said, still in shock. "Myra treated me like a person, not just like her boyfriend's little sister. She was wonderful."

Zac, Julie and Friday

"I know," Zac gulped. "Oh crud, it's like seeing a ghost..."

"Huh. So that's the kind of girl Ike goes for. I always wondered," Julie mused.

"Umm, didn't Jess just say that she was very un-Myra like?" Friday asked.

"Shh!" Julie grinned.

"It's not funny," Zac objected. "Ike wanted to marry her -"

"And it looks like he got what he wanted."

Jessica and Dawn

"He looks like her pet, not her husband," Jess said, in shock. "I know that's how things operate here, but. . . man, it's. . . . scary."

"We should probably not interact," Dawn said, gently. "Unless the Hansons in this world have met us, they probably don't even know about alternate dimensions."

Saku and Julie

"Which means you probably shouldn't let them see you Auntie Jessi," Saku said. "They won't recongise Dad, cos he's a girl at the moment. But they'd recongise you."

"I don't know about that... I mean, Zac and Jess do look enough alike to be sisters," Julie pointed out. "Might be better if we avoid them altogether."

Orion

"Let's go inside to the restaurant part," Orion suggested. "They'll probably be out here for a while." he used his feline vision to look closer. "They're wearing wedding rings, maybe they're on their honeymoon."

Zac, Friday and Julie

Zac stood up.

"Sounds like a good idea," she said.

She turned to gather Elektra, and started for the restaurant. Friday helped Julie with the twins, and they soon followed.
