Mid trip additions

Written by Michelle and Joy

A little over 6 months into the trip...

Saku

Saku was bored. Sure, hanging out with Orion was great fun, but there were other people living with them.

Dee Dee was still a baby, and between Ella and Taylor she was well looked after. Isaac was fun to play with, but he was usually in the music room writing songs and stuff. They barely saw Taylor. Ella, while good at her job, wasn't all that fun to play with.

Saku pounced on Orion.

Lets go visit Dad! he suggested.

Orion

Cassie taught me the portal spell! He concentrated, and the portal showed up. let's go! Orion said purring. Let's just go now, before they notice we're gone. He leapt through in cat form, beckoning Saku to follow.

Saku

Saku leapt through the portal after Orion. As soon as he got to the other side he started sniffing around.

Smells weird, he said, referring to the salty sea air, which he hadn't smelt before. But nice.

Orion

The portal spell had drawn them to the place where Zac was, since it was a blood to blood spell, so there they were, two little kittens wandering on the beach in front of the resort.

Can you smell your Dad? Orion asked.

Saku and Zac

Saku sniffed carefully.

I think he's over here, he said. Or she, as Dad's a girl at the moment.

Saku ran over and spotted a familiar looking group of girls.

Ah ha!

He closed the distance and pounced on the obviously pregnant woman who bore a striking resemblance to Zac.

"What the - " Zac began, "Saku? What are you doing here?"

Saku responded by rubbing his face over Zac's.

Orion, Dawn and Willow

Dawn! Orion said happily, nuzzling the girl's hand. Willow!

"Hey O, you little sneak," Dawn said, scooping up the cat.

"Orion, Saku," Willow said, smiling. "Did you get lonely?"

Zac and Saku

Zac picked up Saku and put him on the ground. Saku took the opportunity to change human. Y'know, seeing as they all spoke english, but few spoke cat.

"Boring at home," Saku said. "Uncle Ike busy. Uncle Tay reclusive. Tad and Kylie are stupid dog lovers. Dee Dee too little and Ella always looking after her. Bored!"

Orion, Willow and Dawn

"And Annie only knows one word," Orion said shifting human. "It's hard having a conversation with somebody who only says 'buh!' How's my sisiter?" Orion strung two random thoughts together.

"SHe's good," Willow said. "She's blending in at the school, and the other girls don't even know she's different. She finally has real friends. And you're doing well at Zac's house? Not causing too much trouble?"

"I'm being good. Draco and Percy are still missing, though."

"We'll find them," Dawn promised. "We all should have anticipated this. Drusilla's not exactly the most stable being."

"Is Mum okay?" Orion asked Willow, who hugged him.

"She and Drac are all over the place, but they know better than to attack my girls. You're welcome to come and visit whenever."

Armelle looked at Friday, confused. "There's a non-slayer at Slayer school?"

Orion looked at the new babies in their pram. Hey Saku, let's bless the babies he said in cat telepathy. He leaned over and kissed their foreheads.

Friday and Saku

"Aparently," Friday said. "News to me too. Who is it? Anyone we know? Or is this a 'if I tell you I'll have to kill you' type secret?"

Hmm, what bless them with?" Saku mused, replying to Orion in cat telepathy.

Orion, Willow and Dawn

I blessed them with chaos magick Orion said.

Willow and Dawn looked at each other giggling. They had both given magical gifts to the new twins, and knew instantly what O had done.

"O, again I say, you little sneak," Dawn said. "I love you anyways, though." Orion blushed.

"Lots of babies being born," Orion said innocently. "IT smells good here. Strange, nothing we've smelt before. Yummy."

Julie, Friday and Saku

"No answer," Julie grinned. "I guess you're not going to find out who the non-slayer student is, Day."

Friday shrugged.

"Oh, well, no matter."

Saku considered for a moment longer and then put his own blessing on Rachel's twins.

I blessed them with danger sense so that they always know when someone it trying to hurt them, and when their loved ones are in trouble, Saku said.

Well, what was the point of being the grandchild of Bastet, the protector, if you couldn't do protection spells?

Orion and Willow

"My sister's name is Cassiopeia," Orion said. "There's four of us. Cassie was first. Then Perceus, or Percy, and Draco. I'm the runt."

"Runt? That's a horrible thing to call a child," Armelle said.

"Mum didn't have quads, she had a litter of kittens," Orion said.

"Just don't go telling the school about Cassie," Willow said. "We don't want the whole school ostracising her. As for you and your brothers, the Watcher's Academy will be completely reopened in Cleveland in January, and the three of you are welcome there, at any time, as long as you're willing to behave and learn. Giles has a soft spot for anybody related to Priss,"

"Cool," Orion said. "Can we eat something?"

Friday, Julie, Zac and Saku

"Never fear," Friday said, "Wouldn't ostracise anyone. I've been on the receiving side of that, it's not nice. Not that I would do it anyway, but that's not the point. Just curious, is all."

"There's food in the basket," Julie pointed.

"Food!" Saku repeated happily, opening said basket.

"Don't you get fed enough at home?" Zac asked.

"I'm a cat. I never get fed enough," Saku half joked.

Orion and Rachel

"Hey, at least I don't drink blood like Draco. Well, not often," he admitted, drinking some milk.

"If my ex-boyfriend wasn't a hawk, I might find that information disgusting," Rachel said. "And yet, huh, that shows how bizarre my life has become."

"Sometimes I wish I had never left Denmark," Armelle said. "Look at the world you've dragged me into!" she said to Willow with a mock sigh.

Friday and Julie

"Aww, you wouldn't miss it for anything," Julie said, then poked Friday in the arm. "And neither would you."

Friday shrugged then grinned.

"Yeah, well, I still hate that I was wrong about vampires, and I wish I were right. But life is more exciting this way."

Orion, Dawn and Willow

Orion sniffed. "Too many slayers around. How does Cass stand it?"

"She gets high on it, I think, like Dru would," Dawn said.

"I guess. But Slayers need to accept that life isn't black & white, all good and evil. Not all blood drinkers are evil," Orion said.

"Really?" Armelle asked, surprised.

"Really and truly," Willow confirmed. "Not all vampires & demons actually enjoy killing. Some of them don't kill at all."

"Weird," Armelle said. "I need to cool down." She took off her sarong and jumped into the pool.

Friday and Julie

"I met one of those," Friday said cheerfully. "Name was Spike. He kept calling me 'mini slayer', the jerk. Of course, I got my own back when I start suggesting names for him. Like 'mini vampire' or 'mini vamp', or my personal favourite 'minivan'."

Julie giggled.

"Spike was cool. I wonder where he is nowadays?"

Orion, Dawn and Willow

"Spike was my Mum's mate for about 120 years," Orion said.

"Then he fell in love with my sister," Dawn continued, "And went searching for a soul to be more human. He used to call me Nibblet or Platelet," she said giggling.

Willow rolled her eyes at the memory.

Friday and Saku

"Yeah, well, when I met him he was married to that Vortigern guy. Aparently vampiries have no problems with gay marriages. Although, I didn't know that vampires did get married, but whatever," Friday replied.

"Bored!" Saku declared. "Me wanna play!"

Orion

"Unsouled vampires don't marry, but sometimes they mate. Let's play!" Orion said, shift into cat form. let's climb that wall!

Saku

Saku shifted back into cat as well.

Okay! he agreed delightedly.
