Jess was awakened by a scream in the next room.
"Somebody, help!" she cried as she tried to get out of bed. "The babies are coming!"
Zac, Friday and Julie
Zac blinked, waking up. She took a moment to register what her sister was saying.
"I'll go get Julie," she offered. "She's done twins before."
She got out of bed and headed to Julie and Friday's room, and knocked on the door.
"Hey, wake up," she called. "Rachel's in labour."
A few moments later, Julie and Zac were making their way to Rachel's side, and Friday had trotted down to the conciege to get a doctor.
Rachel
Rachel breathed through a contraction. "Stupid Clint. Stupid Dathrian-triplet super-fertile spem!" she growled.
Zac and Julie
"That's right," Zac said. "Blame the man."
"You'll be blaming Friday come your turn," Julie said shortly, before striding over to her friend. "Okay, novel experience: usually I'm on the pushing end. Don't worry Rach. Zac, please, be helpful and make Rach all nice and comfy. Pillows. And find some soft blankets for the babies."
"Sir, yes sir," Zac said, saluting before getting to work.
Julie rolled her eyes.
"Okay," Julie said, all business like now as she appraised the situation. "It looks like you're not quite fully dialated yet."
Rachel and Jessica
"Actually it's Friday's fault! If she hadn't repaired my uterus!" Rachel screamed. "WHERE'S THE RUDDY DOCTOR!???"
Jess mopped Rachel's sweaty forehead with a towel.
Julie and Zac
"Day, who would be so, I don't know, to hear her name called in vain," Julie replied, "has gone to get said doctor. On the other hand, you're expanding quickly, another contraction or two and you should be good to go."
"Because you've seen so much from that end," Zac commented, strategically placing pillows around Rachel.
"Zac. Darling. If you can't say anything helpful, don't say anything at all, lest we start talking like that around you when it's your turn."
Dawn and Willow
"Rach, I can't make a doctor just appear," Dawn said, "But I can make a goddess appear to help." She whispered a few words in a strange language, and Willow appeared out of nowhere.
"Let me help," Willow said. She kissed Rachel's forehead, and though the pain didn't go away, it didn't really bother her anymore, she was calm and collected, and felt peaceful.
Julie and Friday
"Eureka," Julie said just as the door opened.
In came Friday with the doctor.
"How are we doing?" she asked, delving right into the situation.
"She's just gotten fully dialated," Julie informed her.
"Okay," the doctor said, swapping places with Julie. "Okay, hon, get ready to push."
Rachel and Willow
Calmly, Rachel took a deep breath and pushed, within moments, the first baby was out.
"High Anakin," she waved to him, as a contraction hit letting her know his brother wanted out too.
Willow took Anakin from the doctor and cleaned him, wrapping him in a clean blanket and blessing him, with her kiss on his forehead.
"Friday, I hate you!" Rachel screamed, as she started to push.
Friday, Julie and Zac
"Hey, why you blaming me?" Friday asked.
"Restoring her uterus," Julie informed her.
"Hey, you didn't need to accept the offer," Friday sniffed, "and you didn't need to start sleeping around either."
"Aww," Zac said looking down at the baby, "he's sooooo adorable!"
Jessica and Rachel
"She'll appologise later," Jess said, as Rach gave another push and the second baby came into the world. They cleaned him off, and the doctor gave them both their shots.
"So, what are their full names?" Jess asked.
"Anakin Lucas and Krit Piccolo," Rach said as the afterbirth came, and the doctor started cleaning everything up
Zac, Julie and Friday
Zac was busy gushing over the babies.
"Here Rach," she said giving one of the twins to Rachel to hold. "This is Anakin... or Krit... the firstborn anyway."
"Aww, isn't Zac all cute when she goes all maternal," Julie giggled.
Friday chuckled.
Rachel
"Anakin Lucas is firstborn," Rach said, taking her beautiful new son in her arms. "That's Krit Piccolo. Their last name is Evans. I'll be happy to give Clint parental rights, just not a last name that sounds like 'Muppet'" Rach said, shuddering.
Friday and Julie
Friday giggled.
"Anakan Muppet," she repeated.
"I believe that's the whole point," Julie nodded. "My last name is the coolest though. It rocks even."
She laughed at her own joke.
Willow, Dawn and Rachel
"We're going to give them gifts," Willow told Rachel. Dawn kissed the babies foreheads and blesssed them with stregth of body and of mind.
Willow kissed their foreheads and blessed them with wisdom and integrity.
"They are so cute!" Willow gushed.
Julie and Friday
"Ooh, like in Sleeping Beauty?" Julie asked.
"That would mean that the evil witch has to come in right about now," Friday said dryly.
"Hey in the original story there were lots more than 3 fairies who blessed the baby."
"Really?"
"Yup."
"Huh, well, there you go."
Willow and Rachel
"Well, I was completely evil for a day a few years ago," Willow said. "Does that count?"
Rachel giggled tiredly, and promptly fell asleep.
Julie, Friday and Zac
"I think we'd better leave," Julie whispered.
"Yeah, I'm tired too," Friday admitted.
Zac gave the twins another wistful glance, and the three left.
