Jessi stared at the letter in her hands. "I got in." She swallowed. "I GOT IN!" she yelled loudly, running into the kitchen where Diana was cooking supper.
"What's up, sweetie?"
"You know how I applied to a bunch of fashion design schools after I got my General Education Diploma?"
"Yeah," Diana answered, a small smile on her face.
"Well, I got accepted to one of the best fashion design schools in the world for spring term. It starts in January!"
"Jessi, that's fantastic!"
"The only problem is, it's in LA."
"Oh, well, we'll all talk about it. Will you be in a dorm?"
"I think so," Jessi answered, looking over the letter. "Yeah, they asked for a reply if I want to live in a dorm. Mom, please say I can go. I really want to. I had so much fun helping the guys design t-shirts for the last tour, I think it's what I really want to do."
"Aliright then," Diana said smiling, "As long as you behave yourself and stay in the dorms, or only go out in large groups. I don't want you wandering LA by yourself."
"I promise Mom," Jessi beamed. DIana could sense her daughter's happiness, and didn;t want to ruin it. It had been such a long time since she'd been so genuinely happy.
