A managerie of insanity

Written by Joy and Michelle

Kate and Frankie

Kate and Frankie showed up a couple weeks after Frankie invited himself over, and rang the bell, but wondered if anybody would even hear the doorbell.

Isaac

Isaac did actually hear the doorbell, and thus went over to answer it.

"Frankie! Kate!" he greeted. "Hey, long time no see! Come on in."

He held the door open for them.

Frankie and Kate

They came inside and Kate tapped their luggage making it was no longer invisible, and Frankie waved his hand, and it stopped flying. Sophie poked her little bunny nose out of her cage.

"Hey Moron," Kate greeted happily, giving Zac a hug.

"If it isn't the world's Second-bed drummer," Frankie said, slapping Zac five.

Isaac and Zac

"Whoa!" Zac exclaimed. "Where did you guys come from?"

"Well... they came from the other side of the door for a start," Isaac joked.

"And it isn't the worlds' second best drummer. I'm the first best. The first I tell you."

Kate and Frankie

"I'm the best drummer!' Frankie insisted. "ANd the best actor, and the best screenwriter, and the hottest guy here, or course."

"And the most modest," Kate joked. "Let's see, we came from the cab, and before that from the airport, and before that LA, and before that our mommies," Kate said, nodding seriously.

Zac and Isaac

As if prone to the sound of a female voice, Kylie appeared.

"Zac?" she questioned.

"Uhh, hi Kylie," Zac said. "This is Frankie and Kate."

Isaac, who's back was to Kylie, pulled a face at Frankie and Kate.

Kate and Frankie

Kate giggled a little at Isaac's face. "Nice to meet you, Kylie," Kate said politely.

"Kylie!" Frankie said, deciding to be strange because he could. He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug, then started talking to her stomach in pig latin.

"Frankie, come back to earth now," Kate said. "So, PigeonTurd," Kate said to Zac, "Where should we stash our stuff. I am NOT sharing a room with Mr. Bighead if I can avoid it, he moans about Lindsay in his sleep."

"I DO NOT!" Frankie insisted.

Zac and Isaac

"Well," said Zac. "My magical house has magically presented me with a couple of extra bedrooms."

"Has Zac told you his magical house theory?" Isaac asked. "About the house knowing what rooms he needs and supplying them for him?"

"Yeah, I told Frankie," Zac grinned.

Kylie just stood there, staring at them.

Kate and Frankie

"That's pretty cool if it's true," Kate said, "Hey, is it safe to let Sophie out of her cage?" she asked, as Frankie used his Flight powers to fly the luggage to the rooms pointed out to them.

"Don't let her out!" Frankie insisted. "SHe's a demon-shape-shifting-alien monkey! I swear! She's pure evil!" Kate took the tiny grey bunny out of her cage.

"She's not evil! She's soooo cute!"

Zac and Isaac

"It's not. It's just some joke of Zac's."

"I dunno, Ike. I swear this place has more bedrooms than when I bought it."

"Uh huh."

"Well, it should be safe for Sophie to be let out... just as soon as I tell Saku -"

"You called?"

"Saku! What timing," Zac beamed at his son. "This is Kate and Frankie, and this is Sophie, Kate's ka'millian." Sophie is not for eating."

Saku, looking like a boy roughly the age of 8, peered at Sophie and sniffed.

"Not a real bunny."

"I did just say she was a ka'millian."

"Prob'ly wouldn't taste good anyway. Not like chicken," Saku grinned. "Mmmm... chicken."

Kate and Frankie

Kate had to laugh.

"Saku! My man!" Frankie said. "Let's go blow something up."

Zac and Isaac

"Yeah!" Saku said the same time Zac said "Don't encourage him."

Isaac laughed.

"Maybe you should show them their rooms first?" he suggested.

Kate and Frankie

Frankie pulled out a small bag and tossed it to Saku. It was full of tiny cherry bombs and stinkbombs.

Kate followed Isaac to her room.

Zac and Isaac

Zac stoped Saku before he looked into the bag, taking a moment to notice that Kylie had gone.

"Let me leave the room before you open it," he said, "this way I can't know what's in there and therefore have no reason to prevent you, ahh... playing with the contents."

Saku grinned.

"Okay!"

Giving Frankie a wink, Zac left the room. The moment, Zac left, Saku peered intot he bag.

"Ooooh," he cheered gleefully.

Meanwhilst...

"And this is your room," Isaac said. "Frankie'll end up in that room."

Isaac pointed across the hall.

Frankie and Kate

Frankie knelt next to Saku and whispered something to him about blowing up a toilet. Meanwhile--

"How's Taylor doing?" Kate asked quietly, as she started putting her things away in the guest room. "And how are you doing?"

Isaac

"Taylor is good," Isaac replied. "He's having some alone time at the moment. Saku made him this extravagant 'do not disturb sign' - it's huge."

Isaac grinned.

"I'm good too," he said. "How about you?"

Kate

"I'm at odds with what to do with life. Modelling was fun, but stressful, and I never had that desire to go off to uni after high school. I didn't have any need to get a job to support myself right away, so, until they start shooting the alien soapies up on the station, I have nothing to do." Kate said with a sigh.

Isaac

Isaac blinked.

"Don't they have their own television station up there?" he asked. "I thought they did... or is that just something that Oliver said they were working on? (In which case I probably shouldn't have told you, oops.)"

Kate

"We do have a television station, and we are making out own shows. But the soapies haven't started filming yet. Or, as least, lemme be more specific. "As the Station Turns" hasn't started filming yet. That's the one I've auditioned for," Kate said. Her comment was interrupted by the sound of an explosion.

Isaac and Zac

Isaac looked in the direction of the sound, back at Kate, and then he hurried back along the hallway to find out what had happened.

"That was so cool!" He heard Saku exhulting.

"Saku!" Zac yelled.

Frankie and Kate

Frankie winked. "I did nothing, I swear," he said, innocently. "Besides, it's nothing a little atom manipulation can't fix. But perhaps we should use the rest of those outside," he suggested to Saku.

Kate giggled, and heard Zac's doorbell ring again. Jess, Rachel and Annie had come for a visit as well, since they lived not far away.

Zac and Isaac

"That is hardly the point," Zac said, giving Saku a look.

Saku immediately turned into a cat and put on his best "Me? But I'm an innocent little kitty-cat!" look.

"How about you two fix the mess," Isaac suggested. "I'll get the door."

Not bothering to wait to see if they did or not, Isaac trotted over to the front door.

"Jessi! Rach!" he greeted. "Come on in. How's Annie?"

Rachel and Jessica

"She is teething, and starting to crawl like crazy. She needs to visit with daddy. She's starting to recognize voices and faces, and I want her to know her daddy. IS Zac around?" Rach asked, while Jessi hugged Isaac.

"Ikers!" she said squealing. "I'm bored. Entertain me."

Isaac

"Zac's just in there," Isaac pointed after hugging Jess back. "Frankie and Saku have been getting up to mischeif and blowing things up in the house."

Just then Saku wandered out, looked at the visitors innocently, and then licked his paw.

"Oh... Frankie and Kate are over. You remember Kate, right Jess?"

Jessica and Rachel.

"Of course," Jess said. "I've been going stir crazy. I applied to a bunvh of fashion design school, but I haven't heard back yet."

Meanwhilst, Rach had headed in to take Annie to visit her Daddy.

Isaac and Zac

"Oh cool," Isaac said. "Good luck with that."

"Rach?" Zac exclaimed, seeing her in the doorway. "Hey, how you doing?"

Rachel

"Buh!" Annie said, happily.

"I'm good," Rach said, giving Zac a hug. Got a full house it seems."

Zac

"Yeah," Zac nodded. "Umm..."

He glanced at his watch.

"How about we all just go out for lunch?"

Rachel, Kate and Jessica

"Buh!" Annie ageed happily, holding her arms out to Zac. Rachel giggled a little.

"Sounds great to me, if you're willing to try and round up this menagerie."

"It's a menagerie of insanity!" Kate said, laughing.

"Should we get Tay?" Jess asked, unsure.

Isaac and Zac

Zac was about to reply when Isaac cut on.

"Best not," he said. "I'll stay here - Tad will get finicky if we separate, and Taylor's not really into hanging out with large groups of people lately."

"Aww... we'll miss you."

"Ha."

Zac grinned.

Jessica, Frankie and Kate

Rachel settled Annie back into her stroller, as Kate went to get Frankie, locking Sophie in her room.

"Want me to keep an eye on my eldest-ish nephew while you get the others ready?" Jess asked Zac.

Zac

Zac nodded and trotted up the stairs to find Ella and Dee Dee.

Saku watched Zac leave and then walked over to Jessica and nuzzled her ankle.

Jessica, Frankie and Kate

Jess scooped up her nephew and whispered into his kitty ear. "Now, Saku, if you promise to behave in the restaurant, I'll teach you some great tricks to play on your dad and uncles," she promised.

Frankie had finished restoring everything Saku had blown up, and was currenntly hovering, cross-legged, about 2 feet off the ground. Kate was throwing lollies at him.

Zac

Saku signaled his agreement by rubbing his face affectionately against Jessica's nose.

Zac soon rejoined them with Dee Dee in his arms and Ella in tow with her things.

"Okay," he said. "All ready to go?"

Jessica

"Is Kylie coming?" Jessi asked, rolling her eyes bitterly.

Zac

"Kylie's not invited," Zac said.

He started heading for the door, and subsequencly his van.

Jessica, Rachel, Frankie and Kate

Jess, Rachel, Frankie, Kate and Annie all followed Zac to the van. Jess set Saku down so he could turn human and join them for lunch.

Zac

Zac loaded Dee Dee in the van, then settled into the drivers seat. Ella sat next to Dee Dee. Saku changed into a boy and clambered in.

"Everyone ready?"
