Faith twisted her hair up into a loose bun as she walked up the stairs to Zac's house. She knocked on the door gently and within seconds, Tru had sensed her mother's arrival and had bounded out.
"MOM!" she exclaimed.
"Hey gorgeous, how've you been?" Faith replied, lifting her daughter up for a hug.
"Good, good! Missed you! How's Uncle Angel? And Gunn? And everyone?" Tru asked, bouncing slightly in her arms.
"Everyone's good, everyone's missing you very much. Say, your dad home?"
Tru shrugged.
"Possssssibly, I'm not sure," she replied. "Come see my room! I have new paintings!"
Faith laughed and walked inside, closing the door behind her.
"Ok, but first, let's find your dad, ok?"
Zac
Zac was in the lounge room, playing Playstation with Saku.
"Yay! I won! I won!" Saku shouted.
Zac chuckled.
"Yes you did. but only because I let you win."
"Nuh-uh. Faith!"
Zac turned around to see Faith and Tru behind him.
"Oh, hey," he said. "Didn't hear you come in."
Faith and Tru
"Yeah, sorry, I know I should've called, but what with almost dying and all... never found the time," Faith replied, shrugging.
"How are you?"
She put Tru down on the ground, and Tru scampered over to Saku.
Zac
"Oh, good, good," Zac said.
He set down the controller.
"And yourself?"
Saku grabbed the controller and handed it to Tru.
"Game?" he asked.
Faith and Tru
Faith shrugged.
"Usual. What've you been up to?"
Tru grinned.
"You're on!"
Zac and Saku
"Oh, you know, the usual. Band practice. Raising kids. Putting up my older brothers after their house got demolish by a tornado," Zac nodded.
Saku set up the game and picked a car for himself.
"Ready whenever you are."
Faith and Tru
"We're a predictable pair, aren't we?" Faith mused.
She glanced over at him.
"I can understand if you're angry at me."
Tru picked a car and bounced in her seat.
"Ok. Let's do this."
Zac and Saku
Zac considered for a moment.
"Oddly enough, I'm not. Not really. I mean, you'd figure I would be. Heck, I'd figure I would be. But I'm... not," he shrugged. "Don't ask me."
"Ready... Set... Go!" said the electronic voice of the game.
Saku zipped his car out onto the track, already passing other cars.
Faith and Tru
"I won't delve into your insanity. I'll stick to mostly sane topics. As sane as we can be, seeing as you're an alien and I'm superhuman," Faith said, after thinking for a moment.
"I thought I might take Tru off your hands for a bit, if that's ok with you."
Tru stuck her tongue out in concentration, moving her controller all around as she overtook cars. She crashed into one and sent them into a wall where they blew up.
"KAPOW! TAKE THAT!"
Zac and Saku
Zac nodded.
"That's fine. I'm sure the dogs next door will appreciate Tru's absense," Zac grinned. "Can't turn our back on Saku and Tru for one second or they're out there, tormenting the creatures."
"Get outta da way, you dog!" Saku said, obviously the worst insult he could think of.
Skillfully, he finally passed the computer controlled vehicle.
"That's better, you mangy mutt."
Faith and Tru
"Sounds about right," Faith said, laughing. "Hey, it's good hanging out with ya."
Tru made a face and then let out an angry squeal.
"MOVE!" she screamed at her car.
Zac and Saku
Zac grinned.
"So how things with the gang? Angel and all them..."
Saku cheered as he went past the way mark and into lap 2.
