Treatment #3062

Written by AiMsTeR and Michelle

Taylor

Taylor shuddered as he made his way out onto the space station. Hugging himself, he tried the best he could to ignore the Adigians that came by.

He quickened his pace as he made his way to Tanya's room and hastily knocked on her door.

"Come on..." he muttered.

Tanya

Tanya opened the door.

"Taylor," she greeted cheerfully. "Come on in."

She held the door open for him.

"How have you been?"

Taylor

"Getting by," Taylor smiled nervously, making his way in.

He found a seat and waited for her to join him.

"How's Kit?"

Tanya

"Asleep," Tanya grinned. "And with any luck, he won't interupt us."

Tanya took a seat.

"Kit is good. But yeah... there are times when I'm glad he's asleep. And how are things with Tad? I know you were having some problems with him."

Taylor

Taylor almost glared at the floor.

"Christian came to visit us a few days ago. He almost killed him in front of us. Would that answer the question?" he looked up.

Tanya

Tanya pursed her lips.

"I see," she said. "I see. There may not be a huge lot I can do. His power is perfectly suited to the task at hand... and it's not exactly common. I'll poke around and see what I can do, but..."

She shook her head as if to say not to get his hopes up.

Taylor

"I know, I know," Taylor grumbled, leaning back into the seat and folding his arms across his chest.

"It just almost seems as if he's provoking us into losing our tempers just so he has to disrupt us. Just so he has something to do. We're going to try and keep Chris away from him anyway... he keeps asking questions. Says he should turn Chris in. I think he's almost worked out who he is."

Tanya

Tanya frowned.

"Definitely try to keep them away from each other. I'll do my best, Taylor, but YIRAAS agents are told to ask questions - any replacement may not be much better in that respect."

Taylor

"I wish he'd just stay the hell out of our business. He's going to find out about Chris if he doesn't. He'll connect him to you. And he'll find out about me killing people, and..."

He cut himself off, shaking his head. As if the very thought was too much to handle.

"I don't know what'll happen if it comes to that."

Tanya

"Taylor, don't worry. Something will work out," Tanya said.

She made herself comfortable in the lounge.

"Now, how about we start this treatment?"

Taylor

"Something," Taylor rolled his eyes, before closing them.

"Go for it."

Tanya

Tanya shook her head and closed her own eyes. She move telepathically into Taylor's head and began repairing damage.

Hmm, now this was interesting. There appeared to be some usual things afoot int Taylor's mind - probably brought on by his annoyance. Mostly it involved a section of Taylor's mind that was blocked off. She tried to move in closer, but couldn't get close enough to properly inspect the area without hurting taylor, so she pulled back and went on with the rest of her work.

On this occasion, she had to pull out a few telepathic tools, and some mind-grafting was done.

At last, she pulled out, and laid there for a few minutes, recovering herself.

"Done," she said.

Taylor

"That took longer," Taylor opened his eyes and looked across at her, squinting slightly from his headache.

Tanya

"Tell me about it," Tanya managed to joke, before turning serious. "On this occasion, some delicate things needed to be done. And of course, the more delicate it is the more time you have to take to be careful."

She opened her eyes, glanced at the kitchen and contemplated the walk. She should really remember to have a glass of water in arms reach when Taylor came over for his treatments.

Taylor

Taylor nodded, subconsciously reading her pheremones and unwittingly acting upon them.

He stood.

"Want a drink?" he offered.

Tanya

"Oh, umm, sure," Tanya replied. "Thanks. Water will be fine."

She sat herself up a bit. She wished she could heal Taylor in one swift blow instead of this once a month thing. Sadly, it didn't work like that.

Taylor

Taylor hesitated as his vertigo from standingso soon after a treatment settled.

He found his way to the kitchen and got them two glasses of water, soon returning to Tanya with her's and resuming his place in the seat.

"Chris is pretty anxious to meet Kit. I don't know if you saw that in there or not," he indicated his head.

Tanya

"Thanks."

Tanya nodded and sipped her water.

"I know he is," Tanya said. "And I tend to be more interested in fixing the damage than spying on your personal affairs."

She was quiet for a moment.

"I hope he gets to meet him soon."

Taylor

"Well at this point I don't really care if you do," Taylor shrugged.

Tanya

Tanya drank some more water.

"Taylor..." and she smiled. "Would you be upset if I told you I heard it all before? And I'm speaking generally here. Everything that's happened to you has happened to other people one way or another. Nothing new under the sun, as it were."

Taylor

"Why, is that supposed to make me feel better?"

He looked across at her hwile fiddling with the glass he held.

Tanya

"Nope. Just illustrating that there is nothing in there I haven't heard somewhere else before, and therefore I'm not the slightest bit interested in what goes on," Tanya replied.

She finished off her water and put the glass on the coffee table.

"Thanks again for getting the water for me."

Taylor

"Not everyone can offer you an idea of what your figure son is currently up to," Taylor pointed out, "which is what I generally meant."

He finished off his glass and put it down.

"And no problem."

Tanya

"Point is well taken," Tanya nodded. "Did you want to hang around for something to eat? Or do you need to go home now? Not that I'm trying to get rid of you."

Taylor

Taylor pulled a face and stood up before grabbing his jacket.

"I've been pretty grumpy lately, so I can understand why people wouldn't want me to hang around. Not that I'm implying you don't want me to, I know you don't mind, I'm just saying."

He shrugged.

"I feel trapped here anyway."

Tanya

Tanya nodded.

"I can understand that," she said.

She stood up.

Taylor

"You don't need to get up," Taylor insisted, "I know my way out by now."

It's dodging the Adigians that's the trick, he thought to himself.

Tanya

"Okay, well, have a good trip," Tanya said. "See you next month."

Taylor

"Maybe before," Taylor murmured.

He made his way through the door and down toward the amplifiers.

Tanya

Tanya sat down, wondering briefly at Taylor's under-the-breath comment. Her thoughts wre interupted by Kit's cries. Wearily, Tanya got up again and headed to Kit's room.

"Coming, Kit," she called, Taylor's words now forgotten.
