Intruder

Emily

Emily wasn't all that sure what to make of her new surroundings. She's been told that Steel was searching for a house for her - a home, rather - as well as a stable job. Meanwhile, she'd been sent to stay with a friend of his. The friend was barely ever home, which left Emily all the time in the world to just... think. Undoubtedly, most of these thoughts became centered around none other than Christian.

He didn't even know her, not really, and she was still the one he chose out of all that were there to save. Maybe because they'd spoken not long after he was brought in? She wasn't all that sure when exactly Guffery had taken him in, but it couldn't have been very early considering the state he was in and his mindset.

Chris was rather a mystery... but maybe that's what drew her to him. He'd been taken in by the Spider after all. Who else could say they'd randomly had that kind of luck? Why had it been him and not any of the others? Was it because he was the one who'd choreographed and orchestrated the initial escape? Not that anyone else at that point could have, they were only kids after all...

Christian had been special, and she still wasn't all that sure why. He was supposedly the same age, and yet he just gave off the vibe of being so much older.

Whatever it was, she hoped he kept his word and came back to see her once in a while. She had no way of contacting him after all, and through all Steel's many ways she was sure he didn't either.

Her ears suddenly perked up at the sound of the front door opening. That was strange... Lenny wasn't due back until the early hours of the morning, and it had barely just gone 10pm. She opened the bedroom door and peered down the hallway cautiously. She could hear someone in the kitchen, going through the drawers.

Frowning to herself, she carefully made her way down the hallway. The shadow the saw on the wall opposite the doorway to the kitchen definitely did not belong to Lenny. Thus, she quickly produced a knife from the wall using her atom manipulation.

When she got to the doorway, she saw a man dressed in black practically raiding the kitchen. He was just about to open the freezer door. Creating an illusion around herself so that he couldn't see her, she made her way in, then just as he leant in to bustle around in the freezer... slammed the door on him.

"WHAT the...?" came his exclamation as he faltered backwards and she revealered herself.

"Who are you?" she demanded sternly.

The man's eyes widened, before he scrambled to his feet and made for the door.

"No..." Emily said softly, going after him and grabbing him byt he back of his neck.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

"None of your business!"

"Well that's funny, seeing that as I'm staying here I think that anyone who enters the house becomes my business," she scorned, "you're trying to rob the place aren't you?"

"No! I was just..."

"Save it."

She took him to the hallway closet and threw him in before closing the door and creating a heavy bolt on it to stop him getting out. Then she pulled out the cell phone that Steel had given her and called Lenny.

"Hi, Len? It's Em. We have a bit of a problem, can you get back anytime soon? No, I don't mind waiting..."
