The Adventures of Rogue: Impending Mayhem

Written by Michelle

Rogue

Rogue had been rather enjoying being in Genovia. It was a truly beautiful country and everyone was friendly. Plus it was wonderful seeing so many mutants free to be mutants. And some humans for that matter as well, she observed with a chuckle.

Teaching self defence had been a lot of fun too - although with any teaching it was rife with a few students who seemed impossible to work with for various reasons. Either they weren't interested, or they were and just didn't have the co-ordination. Rogue felt she was beginning to get an insight into how her teachers might have felt about her in class, and made a mental note not to give them a hard time. Assuming that she ever went back to school. Not that she was a troublemaker.

Today had been weird, however. She had felt during the whole class that she had been watched. Which was silly, because of course she was being watched - by the students, of course! And yet... there was this niggling feeling that something wasn't right.

Still, the feeling went away after class, and she got cleaned up. She slung her hand bag over her shoulder and stepped out into the street. She needed to get a couple of things before getting back to the hotel. And she should look at moving on soon - whilst immigration laws and the like were reasonably relaxed, she wasn't in a position to make anything permanent - not that she would want to. Well, maybe she would move to Genovia one day, but not yet.

Rogue was just wondering is Genovia was one of the nations that allowed dual citizenships when she had a feeling she was being followed. Of course, it was hard to tell - there being a number of people around, but she was sure...

In any case, Rogue forced herself to maintain a normal speed. Going faster wouldn't help her - even if she could, given that there was a reasonable crowd.

"Breathe, Rogue. Breathe," she coached herself.

Obviously she would have to loose... whoever it was. Preferably without indicating to them that she realised she was being followed - safer that way. Never know what some of these people might do otherwise.

She considered the matter - after over a month in Genovia she knew the trip between the gym and the hotel fairly well. In fact there was a place coming up that would be good... yes...

The crowd was thining out now, so she knew she had to work fast. She moved closer to the buildings, and, falling into a sufficent knot of people, slid into the wall. Fonrtunately, the people were both more interested in where they were going, and displayed of mutant power were actually normal around here, so she didn't draw any attention to herself by doing this.

Rogue followed the wall aways until she found a spot to come out the other side, and made her way back to the hotel. The niggling feeling was gone and she breathed easier. Well, that was the first time that had ever happened to her - in Genovia anyway.

She went upstairs, unlocked her door and went inside. Her fuzzles seemed to be all crowded in one spot.

"Hey," she said. "What's so interesting?"

Rogue put her bag down and peered over.

"Ahh, Ah see," she said. "Congratulations."

Liberty was doting on six newborn fuzzles. Four red ones in varying shades, a maroon one and a magenta.

Her glance darted over to Azure, she was probably due soon. Fabulous. That would mean 7 adults, and 12 newborn fuzzles to look after, for at least 4 months.

She would never remember all their names.
