12 January 2004 - Imagine there's no heaven

Rebekah, Ian and Kennedy

Rebekah held Ian's hand as they walked into The Bronze. She looked over and smiled at him.

"I'll be back soon," she said, kissing his cheek.

"I'll meet you over there," Ian replied, indicating the couch in the corner of the club.

"Oui." Rebekah grinned and went onstage, sitting on the stool and lifting the mike to her lips.

Ian nodded and headed over to the couch, but was stopped by Kennedy, as Rebekah began to sing.

"Of all the things I believed in
I just wanna get it over with
Tears form behind my eyes
But I do not cry
I'm counting the days that pass me by..."

Kennedy smiled and flicked her hair off her shoulder, leading Ian over to the couch.

"I've been searching deep down in my soul
Words that I'm hearing
Are starting to get old
Feels like I'm starting all over again
The last three years were just pretend..."

"So, that's your girl?" Kennedy asked, gesturing at Rebekah.

"Yeah," Ian answered slowly, inching away from her.

"And I said goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I thought I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold onto..."

"She's good." Kennedy smiled.

"She is," Ian replied.

"I still get lost in your eyes
And it seems that I can't live a day without you
Closing my eyes
And you chase my thoughts away
To a place where I am blinded by the light
But it's not right..."

Kennedy moved closer to Ian and chatted aimlessly to him, charming him slowly.

"Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I thought I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold onto

And it hurts to want everything
And nothing at the same time
I want what's yours
And I want what's mine
I want you
But I'm not giving in this time..."

Rebekah craned her neck looking for Ian, but couldn't see him from her place on the stage.

"Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I thought I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold onto..."

Kennedy vamped out and bit into Ian's neck, draining him slowly, holding him down roughly.

Ian struggled under her grip, then he went limp.

"And when the stars fall
I will lie awake
You're my shooting star..."

Kennedy pulled away and licked her lips. She lay him down on the seat, then headed off quickly.

Rebekah stood up to her applause and walked down the stairs, and over to the couch, as the band started to play.

"Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance..."

Rebekah cocked her head as she noticed Ian lying on the chair. She started to walk a little faster, breaking through the crowds of people

"In this sweet madness
This glorious sadness
It brings me to my knees..."

Rebekah pushed desperately through the crowd and shook Ian gently, only to find no reaction. She checked his pulse and listened for a heartbeat.

Nothing.

"No..."

She lifted his head and cradled him in her arms, tears streaming down her face as she called for help.

"In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this stark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you feel
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
In the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here..."
