Lucious
Lucious Holding tilted his glasses on his nose a little as he held the small piece of plastic in front of his eyes. Picking up the thin tube of glue, he dabbed a small piece on the end, swapped his fingers for a set of tweezers, then carefully added the piece to the engine of his latest model car.
"Almost... just..."
There was a knock at the door.
Lucious jumped a little, then growled under his breath.
"Come in."
He heard the door open as he quickly began to fix what he'd hit - before the glue dried.
"Racer? I've just had news from Patrick. Eric had a vision..."
"Eric has lots of visions, Peter."
"Yeah, but this one was about Craig."
Lucious looked up for a moment. He put the tweezers down, then turned and lowered his glasses tot he edge of his nose.
"The Spider?"
"Known as the Eye now, Sir."
"He'll always be the Spider to me, Peter," he looked away, "what did this vision involve?"
The teenager, visibly jitterish, began to stutter.
"He's... he's going to die, Sir."
Lucious looked up, a disbelieving look in his eyes.
"You sure?"
Peter nodded.
"How?"
"Well, he didn't go into detail, but apparently it's that little Avery Hanson girl that's been winning all the comps," Peter shrugged, "the one they say has Grandmaster potential."
Lucious hesitated, then nodded.
"I see. And when?"
"Next month Sir."
Lucious nodded again, smiled, then turned back to his work.
"Are you... planning on doing anything Sir?"
"And what exactly would I do, Peter?"
Peter hesitated, fiddling with his fingers.
"Well, if I may make a suggestion..."
"Please do, I'll be happy to hear it."
Peter hesitated, not sure if there was sarcasm in that or not.
"Ah... Christian Thomas, Sir."
Lucious hesitated.
"He'll ah... They'll expect him to look after Craig's affairs. He might even try to stop the inevitable..."
Lucious put his hand up, and Peter stopped.
"What are you suggesting, Peter?"
The teenager looked over the model Lucious was working on before replying.
"I'm just saying he may be a problem, that's all. It might be easier to keep him out of the way."
"Thank you, Peter."
Peter nodded, and left, closing the door behind him.
Lucious finished adding a few pieces to the car, then leant his elbows on the desk, pondering the information.
