4 January 2003 - It's Too Complicated

Rebekah and Ian

Being with her family made Rebekah feel better than she had in a long time. She no longer felt pangs of longing for Ian and her babies, but at the same time, she felt unhappy. Emotions in the mansion were going haywire, and she could feel every single one of them. There was the option of taking them away, but she knew it was for the best that they lived through it. Because eventually, they'd need to deal with the pain, and it would be easier sooner rather than later.

It seemed that what had happened to Julie was affecting, more or less, everyone. Bobby was still depressed about it, because he had only just realised he was in love with Julie, even though Rebekah probably could've told him a few months ago that he was. And that she loved him too. So Bobby was moping around the mansion, looking like he was going to off himself at any moment. Rebekah gave him credit that he was getting really good at pretending he was ok in front of everyone else. She doubted if many of the non telepaths knew how much he was hurting.

Jono was still upset about Rogue cheating on him, which had been helped along by Julie's voice in her head.

Everything was a mess and in some ways, Rebekah almost felt guilty for being so... not completely happy, but in most ways, very happy.

"Bek?" Ian's gentle voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"Oui? Sorry, Ian, just thinking about Julie," Rebekah said, leaning back on the couch and strumming her guitar.

"Hey, it's ok. Things have a funny way of working out sometimes."

Rebekah nodded and watched as Filipo and Terence chased each other, gliding 2 feet in the air.

Bobby walked in and gave her a weak smile, then planted himself in front of the TV.

"He ok?" Ian asked softly.

"Not sure," Rebekah replied, resting her head on his shoulder. "I hope so."

She decided not to tell Ian what she could read from him, and opted to talk to him about it later, when it was just the two of them.
