30 September 2003 - mischevious kittens

Joy

Cassie, Orion and Spike

Cassie was bored. As were her brothers, but she was the leader of the pack. They all shifted into kitten form, and stalked through the shadows of the school. They saw a group of teenagers sitting at a table, and decided to pouncetheir ankles. Suddenly, Cassie shifted human.

"You're family," she said to Spike. "I smell it. SHe jumped onto his lap and cuddled up with her big brother. Orion shifted into a human, and sniffed Spike. Then the cigarette smoke encircling Spike's head, set him into a coughing spasm.

Vortigern

Spike looked at the kittens carefully. "Right. You'll be Dru's then. Name's Spike."

Vortigern laughed at Spike's dryness of tone. "They're sweet."

"You have them then." Spike lifted Cassie and handed her over.

"Hey, cutie. My name's Vortigern."

Dru

Draco hopped up and started kneading Spike's thigh. Orion was still choking over the smoke, unable to breathe, when Dru rushed into the room.

"Put that out!" she growled, vamping out. She looked at her childe, and picked up her child. She took out the breathing compund that Hapi had mixed up for him, and forced it down his throat. A moment later his couphing subsided.

"Orion, you know ou can't be running around all the time," she chided. "Daddy will take you hunting later, but in the meantime, you're going down for a nap." she declared.

"Oh, Mummy, don't wanna," he said.

"Too bad. Time to sleep, time to dream, the world will open up and the muffins shall dance!"

"Otay," he said, sticking out his lower lip. Dru carried him to their rooms, and put him down for a nap. Percy was winding patterns around Mordred's ankles. Cassie morphed human again and settled herself in Dru's lap.

"I'm Cassiopeia. That's Draco, and that's Perseus. Mummy took Orion." She lair her head on Spike's shoulder, as Draco jumped back to Vort's lap.

Sabre and Vortigern

"Right." Spike raised an eyebrow. Sabre stalked in, black hair crackling with tension. "Who spat in your milk?"

"Shut up, Spike," Sabre snarled. "And don't smoke around my kittens."

Vortigern reached over and took the cigarette from Spike's mouth, stubbing it out in an ash tray. "Ok."

"Sod." Spike frowned.

Dru

After putting him down, Dru came back. "Orion is weak. He was born last, and didn't get enough oxygen. The smoke nearly killed him." Dru picked Spike up and slammed him against the wall.

"Maybe it is time for some family bonding? Chains, manacles, whips. Listen, my Childe, you do anything disrespectful around my kittens again, and I will make you wish you had never been sired." She picked up Draco. "Here's your lunch, my sweet." He shifted human, and suck his fangs into Spike's neck, taking about a pint of blood. Whe Dru pulled him away, he licked his lips, shifted kitten, and curled up on Mordred's lap.

Vortigern, Mordred and Sabre

Vortigern stood up slightly, brown eyes hard. "Touch my lover like that again, Dru, and your head will be even more messed up then it usually is," he hissed venomously.

Spike rotated his head slowly. "Such a pleasant family reunion."

And you listen to me, you crazy bitch, you're not getting near him like that again. Mordred will help make sure of that. Vortigern raked spitefully through her mind with telepathic fingers. "I put the damn cigarette out. No need for the violence."

Sabre eyed the youth carefully. "You've grown a pair of knackers since we left."

"Coming back from insanity tends to mature you some."

Spike, Cassie and Percy

Spike grinned. "Vort, back off. There's a thing you need to know about vampires, we like the whole bloodletting stuff. We understand each other." Spike picked up Drqaco and spun him around, watching the little boy giggle, then kissed the top of his head, set him down on his feet, and lightly smacked the boy's bottom. "Go play." The Spike gave Dru a look that nobody there had seen on his face before. It was a look of udder submission. Just for a moment, but it was there. He kissed his Dam's face, and sat down next to his lover again. Cassie shifted human and looked at Spike.

"Are you me big bruver?" she asked.

"That I am, pet," he said, grinning. Somethng about this whole family reunion was touching him deep inside. Cassie looked at Sabre.

"Daddy, me wanna go hunting."

"Ooh, me to, me too!" Percy declared. They looked at Sabre with their big doe eyes and their adorable pouts.

"Pweese?"

Sabre and Vortigern

Vortigern glared at Dru. "F*ck off, Dru. Really. Go back to the West Bank. We were fine without you."

Sabre stood. "Don't ye talk to her that way."

"And sod you too." Vortigern was truly angry at the two of them, and a bit at Spike as well. "Don't expect to be sleeping with me tonight," he informed Spike icily, then stalked out. He slammed the door behind him violently.

"Bloody hell." Spike stood up. "Luv!" He raced after his human.

"You know humans don't get this, Lovely. You shouldn'tve interefered." Sabre gave Dru a serious look. "Way to buggerise things up there." He looked at his children. "Yeah, we'll go hunting sometime. Me and your aunt Nyx found all the best spots."

Drusilla

"Oops," Dru said. "He's my baby though. Why does everybody forget? I'm his Sire, and we were paramours for over 120 years. He's mine, I'm his, efven though he went soft, and he stinks of the Slayer. SHe got into his veins." Dru shuddered. "Don't like it."

Sabre

"Well, let him be, lovely." Sabre shifted, becoming jealous. "Let him alone. Leave him and the boy be."

Drusilla and Dawn

"Okay," Dru said bouncing around. Then she sat down next to Dawn.

"How is my lovey?"

"I'm good, Dru. Clark left the country, don't know if I'll ever see him again. We're starting a coven here, it's exciting."

Sabre

"Sounds good, sunshine," Sabre said, relaxing somewhat. "Who's going to be in it?"

Dawn

"So far I've got me and Dem, the Mer, although Orlando is moving into Manhattan soon. He was excepted to Julliard, isn't that cool? ANyway, Octavian wants to join, so that he can turn me into something gross, although I haven't the heart to tell him it will never happen. Jessi Hanson and her boyfriend, and Rachel, the Animorph. Oh, guess what? She's pregnant too. By Zac Hanson. Seriously, that boy gets around! I'm not sure who else is going to join yet. But if you want top know the Mansion gossip, I'm your girl," she said, winking. Cassie sniffed.

"Daddy, why does she smell so strong? She smells like chaos, it's yummy smelling."

Sabre

"Because she's special, but none of you dare bite her, orright?" Sabre enforced his words with a glare. "No biting!" He looked back up. "Which one of my sister's kits is here? And to who?"

Dawn

"Two of them," Dawn replied. "Faolan, who's Mordred's, and Saku, who's Zac Hanson's. They're visiting for a while."

Sabre and Nathan

"Interesting." Sabre's eyebrow arched slightly. "Where's Logan?"

"Back again so soon?" Nathan leant on the doorpost and shuffled his cards. "More cats. Lovely. Loki's gonna flip his halo." The insane mutant laughed. "Dru, motherhood agrees with you. But keep your kittens from me, or I'll havta see what I remember from this." He traced the scars that ran down his cheek, a permanent reminder of his tangle with a feline demon.

"Don't threaten my kittens," Sabre said softly.

"Oh, I wouldn't dare, dark one. Logan left. And your sister burnt the wolf badly. She was very bad."

"What happened?"

"Glamours twisting turning and eternal heat. He barely survived her forcing of him. And his love left him all alone. Your sister has many apologies to make." Nathan looked stern.

Dawn

Joelle walked into the study, to see kittens everywhere.

"Never before have I seen so many cats. Do they like to sit one mats?" she asked. Dawn smiled.

"Sabre, Dru, this is Joelle Parney. Her power is rhyme. She speaks in rhyme almost always." Joelle waved.

"Hello, my name is Jo. I hope you're well, the leaves just fell."

Sabre and Nathan

"What happened to your eyes?" Sabre asked quietly, the black bandages confusing him.

Nathan shuddered and Sabre smelt fear pour off him. "The dark winged Furie with eyes of hell fire. She came, and glory see, she'll come again. An angel fallen, perverted, tainted." His hands tightened around the cards. "Smelling like blood and tainted death..."

Melissa

Melissa had been sitting at the other end of the room, trying not to interfere.

"I'm a healer. Would you like me to try and fix them?" she asked. "I've been able to regenerate limbs in the past, I don't think it would hurt to try," she offered.

"I heal too!" Percy said, after he turned human.

Nathan, Loki and Sabre

Nathan swung his head to look at her, the eerie focus that he showed evern without his eyes meaning he looked at her like he could still see. "It isn't time yet. When the fire reigns and the bounds of thought are broken. *Then* it will be time, but not yet. Not yet..."

"Sabre," Loki said coldly as he stood behind Nathan. "Demon. Mind you watch your manners. And keep your kittens from my charges."

"Angel." Sabre nodded slightly. "As ye say then."

"Good." Loki glared at Dru. "And keep your fangs off the students." He turned on his heel and left. "Lunatic..."

Sabre's fist curled slightly. "I hate angels. They're so selfrighteous."

Nathan hummed lightly, then left to find Chelsea. "Watch your step."

Drusilla

"Stupid nosy evils. I would never hurt my children," Dru said. "The students are my other babies," she declared. Cassie hissed at Loki as he left the room.

"Don't like him. Not at all. Smells yucky."

Sabre

"Cos you're part demon, lovely," Sabre said, stretching slightly. "I don't know if they'll have room for us at the mansion, my beautiful princess. We should head over to the house, anyway. See what minions we actually have left."

Drusilla

"But we must come back often," Dru declared. "I am teaching this semester. Astronomy and Astrology." Cassie pondered what her father had said.

"Otay, I'm trying to figure this all out. You," she pointed to her papa, "are a cat pwetending to be a person. Mummy is a vampire. Vampires are humans who were killed, and their souls switched places with demons. Demons are evil. But we have souls, are we evil?" She was genuinely confused.

Sabre

"If ye want to be," Sabre said thoughtfully. "Doesn't mean you havta be. There's good demons too, ye know. Not just evil ones." He looked at Dru. "I need to go and talk with Priss. See how she's getting on with the Watcher. Be good for the kits to meet one of their aunts too."

Cassie

"I'm gonna be good," Cassiopeia decided. "I'mm gonna be a good little princess like my namesake." Meanwhile, Draco was half-asleep, and unconsously creating random portals to other dimension around the room.

Sabre

Sabre clicked his tongue and leant forward to give Draco a gentle tap on the head. "Watch yer magic, boyo. Wouldn't do for something to wander in." He twisted the portals shut with an effort. "Or for someone to wander out. There's nasty things out there in the spaces beyond this one."

Draco

Sowwie Papa. Draco said, and that he yawned a tiny little kitten yawn that made all the girls in the room go 'Awwww!' it was just so darn cute! Nana's waching me in my dweams.

Sabre

"Let's go back to the house, Dru," Sabre said. "The kittens are tired, and we need to check up on everyone."

Drusilla

"Yes," Dru said. "You take Cassie and Percy. I'll take Draco, and I'll go upstairs and get Hapi and Orion." Dru decided, picking up the little orange tabby.

"Stay away from crocodiles," she warned.

Sabre

"Of course, lovely," Sabre agreed. "I come from the land of the Nile, remeber? Quite good at dodging crocodiles. Sobek has a touchy temper." He picked up Cassie and Percy. "Well, you'll get to meet more of your family. I bet Rosie's gonna go all clucky."

Drusilla

Dru cocked her head and let her vision come. "She and Luka are roamingthrough Europe creating all sorts of beautiful nasty trouble. Fashioning themselves after me and Spike," she said, grinning. "How beautiful they are!"\

Sabre

"Brats," Sabre grumbled. "They *knew* they had to stay at the lair and keep the others under sontrol. We'll be lucky to have a house standing."

Drusilla

"Sammy and Stevie may be young, but I think they can take care of things well enough." Dru decided.

Sabre

"Mmph," Sabre said non-commitedly. "Anyway, lovely, I want to go back to the house. We'll have a lot of work to do, and there are no rooms big enough for us here. And you just *had* to give Spike's neck to Draco, didn't you? That was a very stupid and rather nasty thing to do when his lover was in the room, lass."

Drusilla

Dru hissed, and flounced out of the room. She was one pissed off vampire. Leaving her children in Hapi's care, Dru went out hunting. She needed to let off some steam, big-time.
